Nirra reached her destination, which was the guild. Her sister, Ellie, was already standing by the entrance, waiting for her. Her sword was sheathed inside the scabbard, which was on her belt.

"Sis, You made it just in time. The guildmaster is already calling for us to go inside his room." Ellie said. "Is that the new musukuet? You made?" She added, pronouncing musket wrongly.

"Yep, I managed to finish it just in time; let's go in then." Nirra said this as Ellie noticed that Mofu was hanging onto Nirra's shoulder like a cat.

Once they entered the guild, it was still as lively as it ever was. A guildmaid was waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs.

"D-rank adventurers Nirra and Ellie Agustine, the Guildmaster is waiting for you inside his office." She said this as she turned around to start climbing up the stairs. "Follow me, please." She added.

Nirra and Ellie looked at each other and shrugged as they followed the guildmaid towards the guildmaster's office. While walking, Nirra started constructing in her head what the guildmaster would call them for. Her thoughts were interrupted by the guildmaid knocking on the door to the guildmaster's office.

"Come in!" A firm yet audible voice came from the other side as the maid motioned for them to come inside.

"Guildmaster Victor, Adventurers Nirra, and Ellie Agustine are here," she said.

Both Nirra and Ellie were in slight awe of the sight of the guildmaster's office. Behind the chair where he sat was a huge glass window from which they could see the entire town plaza. Just adjacent to the guildmaster's position was a woman that looked to be an elf wearing expensive-looking clothes, and from the bow and quiver as well as the emblem on her cape, Nirra deduced that she belonged to the archer class.

"Thank you, Rose. You may leave us with our business." Guildmaster Victor spoke as the maid bowed and exited the room. He then motioned for them to sit down opposite him, to which they complied. The elf, though, never took her gaze off of Nirra, specifically the two weapons she carries, the revolver and the newly made lever-action rifle, and Mofu, who was avoiding her gaze.

"Mofu...." He said it in a low voice.

"I am sure you are wondering why I called you two specifically here." Victor and the twins nodded to his assumption.

"Firsly, Introductions. Nirra and Ellie Agustine, meet Lady Ameria Faberos, an S-Rank adventurer dispatched to aid us in our problem," he said as he turned wide-eyed towards the elf in question.

"Greetings. Nirra and Ellie," Lady Ameria said with a smile.

"It's nice to meet you as well, Lady Ameria," Nirra said.

"Me too," Ellie said as she avoided the elf's gaze.

'An S-rank adventurer, this is either really good or really bad. S-rankers are only dispatched for the most hazardous quests, which means that if she's here, it means that the situation is really bad' Nirra thought silently.

"Now that introductions are out of the way, we can proceed to why you two were called here." Victor said as he stood up. His large, muscular frame then walked up towards a rolled-up piece of parchment and placed it on the table, where he unrolled it to reveal the map of the surrounding area.

"The recent increase of monster activity can be traced to one location," he said as he pointed at Northwood Forest, which was at the foot of a mountain range. "Here, it seems like monsters were fleeing from this area, but we don't know what." He continued.

"So you want us to go in and find out the cause?" Ellie assumed Victor gave a slight nod.

"Yes, we need to find out what is really causing these monsters to flee from their original habitat. If a creature such as the Sturmhirsch that attacked you flees southward, it means that the reason is either a dragon or something that involves dark magic. In any case, Lady Ameria is here to help us locate and disarm that threat before the situation gets dire. The two of you are here because Lady Ameria would need all the extra help she could get," he explained, to which Nirra nodded.

"What time are we heading out?" Nirra asked, which, to her surprise, Lady Ameria answered.

"We leave at dusk because the monsters may be more active at night, as well as the mysterious entity that is driving the monsters out." The twins nodded as they turned back to Victor.

"If you both can complete this quest, I will personally promote you to C-Rank adventurers without the need for a class rank-up examination." He announced it, which only made Nirra and Ellie more determined to finish it.

"If you do not have any further questions, you may leave and prepare for the quest ahead." Victor said as the twins and Lady Ameria nodded and exited the guildmaster's office.

Outside the office, Ellie and Nirra were talking with each other about how to prepare for the long night ahead of them when Lady Ameria approached them, looking at Nirra the whole time.

"Lady Ameria, what brings you to our conversation?" Nirra said. Lady Ameria, though, shook her head in disapproval.

"You can drop the formalities; I'm just Ameria right now," she said.

"Okay? But why are you here?" Ellie as she crossed her arms.

"I'm just curious about your sister, specifically her strange weapon and the fact that she had tamed a Vulpen." She said.

"If you want, I haven't tested it yet. Maybe I could show it to you in the guild's probing ground," Nirra said as she grasped her rifle tightly. "Oh, and his name is Mofu." She said this while her thumb pointed at Mofu.

"Mofu!"

"It would be wonderful if I could see your weapon work for the first time," Ameria said with a soft smile on her face.

"Alright, let's go to the guild's proving ground then." Nirra said as the group started walking downstairs.
