Chapter 49 The Tiger Comes Down The Mountain! by Harem-Fan
"Rick Lee, on behalf of the Tang, I wish to apologize for the past behavior of my immature son. Please accept my apology."
Most everyone in the room that knows this proud man says those words, are stunned.
Scott and his mother however look as though they ate shit and lost face for their Heads words to a commoner trash.
Acting Basic helps to hide my surprise due to knowing it is not appropriate to have the Head of the Family apologize for a kids fight, well it's worse than that but this puts me in an awkward place with him.
"Please Head Tang, you truly do not need to apologize because you are not at fault in this matter. I accept your sincerity though."

Anthony Tang only squinted at his idiot son, but Scott does not know how to back down, mostly.
"Scott you two are not children and as adults, you need to leave the past in the past, before you lose your way."
He then looks at me again and asks.
"Can you two stop your feud?"
"If it was not for Scott bullying me for five years and telling me it was because I was a bastard Tang, I would not be the forgiving man I am today. I only almost died twice, so I will forgive him."
Even Scott was speechless with the rest of the room. A big bomb was just dropped and it could not be undone. Scott will take full credit for this one, and it was a good feeling slap across his mothers face to boot!
"This should be no surprise, only like 5 or 6 people in the room don't know this about me. And if it were not for Scott rubbing it in my face, I would not know, because my father hid it from me."

The Lang's and my in-laws feel they are in a cheap family talk-show where the members of the family reveal how they have been cheating or betraying one another and mud-slinging is flying all around. Just missing popcorn, then Mercy came into the room unaware of the family feud and announced.

We all pretended the awkward family reveal never happened and all made our way into the dining-room to a massive table set up for us.

At a massively large rectangular table sat two chairs at each long-end with two seats meant for the Heads and their wives.
On the left side of me are the Lang's with Linda next to them on the opposite side of me. Next to Linda sat Scott with his four wives reaching to the Tang head and his wife. Basically Linda and Scott are both next to their parents with the wives sandwiched between them. The twin's are next to Linda due to them knowing each-other for a year.
On my long-side of the table are my wives and in-laws opposite Linda and Scots side.
From the Lang side sat Mary across from Linda, then me across from the twins, and then Hana and finally my in-laws next to the Tang.
Phew, that was a hassle to set up the table, but it keeps everyone from killing each other. And somehow if this table was more narrow, I could imagine the twins messing with me under the table, but they don't have that long of legs.
Soon the maids sent by the Lang just for this event brought out soups and salads as an appetizer before the main meal was to be served.
It was also funny to see so many women pass on the wine due to being pregnant. I smile thinking how four women at this table are now pregnant with my children, damn I am going to be a busy dad in the future.
Soon the Heads and the Dean begin to have a talk about Star University and the kids courses. While Mary whispered to me.
"Rick, are you alright bringing that up? I was surprised you exposed it?"
While patting Mary's leg gently I say to her.
"No it's better this way, most know about it so I may as well own it. This makes things hard on Scott and his mother for dealing with me now. Plus this also helped Linda distract from her parents trying to get closer to Scott. So it is good all around. Scott will most definitely get scolded by both parents for different reasons."

George and Anthony both looked surprised, especially after hearing rumors of the Long Head trying something underhanded recently. This both confused and intrigued them as Heads of the four families.

"Scott dear, what are your plans after University?"
"Mother Lang, I will get my business degree and then go to the White State and run some of the Tang businesses there. Our Tang has a major piece of the business world in the East, so we need to have some main-branch presence there."
I don't think you're graduating in four years though, maybe five is good? I will see if kicking him out of Star City is better or worse then.

"The Feng have employed you recently and seeing them at the Hospital Ball, they seem to be close with you. Is there any particular reason they have gotten close with you?"

"I was hired as a professional bodyguard for Tina Feng and the Head Tony Feng and his wife Lane Feng have been supporting my growth. I have completed some high profile work with the Syndicates. My rating as a high profile bodyguard is thanks to the work with the Feng. As for Tina Feng, we are classmates in business with Linda and Scott."
Anthony inquired.
"You met Jerry Bing? What was your impression of him?"
"Him? At first I thought we would not get along, but I found out from the syndicate next heads, he and I got along very well. I was impressed with his decisive measures for a syndicate vice leader."

"Wait, you were the bodyguard at the Hilton International during the peace talks? And you are the one Brenda Sho talked about?"

"That was a helicopter hijacked by the Southern Cross gang and if it didn't crash, it was shot down."

"The pilot lost control actually because he was wounded. So I technically did not shoot it down per say. Just an unexpected event, but the police found I had no fault in that or obligation for the crash. So we had repelled the gang's plan that was set up for a while to cause problems."
Mrs Lang asked me another question.
"So then, are you a part of the syndicates, or the Fire Birds?"
I shake my head no and explain.
"Nope not at all, and I had no interest in the gang fight as well, but my contractor was in danger, and I eliminated it only because my charge was in danger. I would not have lifted a finger otherwise. I make good money as a bodyguard and I keep my rating high."
Both George and Anthony hearing everything had looks of realization that the others at the table did not know about, and both could not believe what ran through their minds. Something only the Four Heads are privy to. So Anthony asked, keeping things vague.
"Have you come across any monks lately in the past month?"
"I occasionally see some beggar monks looking for oms on the street, why?"
"Oh, no real reason, I just noticed no monks have been in Star City for a while now. I think they all got spooked."

So when Scott sees his maid in the red-dress, he reads her short letter before the second picture is shown.
