Keeping Them in Line.

(Solia’s POV*)

It’s been over a month since Celia and Ria left to get help for Yona. Somehow, word got out that their ship was destroyed, and now the nobles are trying to force me to take over the Empire.

Now that I was the closet living royal, they were desperate to have someone actually rule this Empire. Mena was too young to be Empress, so while Celia was gone, and Yona was still asleep, I was the best option that they had.

Unfortunately, even if I didn’t want to take control of this Empire, I had to still at the very least run it. But I refused to be called the Empress, as that is still my wife, Yona’s rightful title. Frankly, I am very close to killing a few of the more annoying nobles…

Amelie: “Solia, please don’t go on a killing spree. Yona and Celia would be upset at such an action.” She advised.

Solia: “I know that…” I reply with a sigh.

Lia: “Instead, you should see if they’ve committed any crimes that we could execute them for.” She proposed.

Amelie: “That’s a good idea. Though, Yona was pretty good at only allowing good people to be nobles.” She said with a thinking pose.

Nia: “There should still be some bad eggs, regardless.” She said with a confident tone.

Their words were correct. Yona was very good at managing her kingdom, but that was when it was a kingdom, not an Empire. Now, there are many outside forces that we haven’t fully looked into just yet… With a sigh, I ordered some of our secret military force to investigate every noble who is annoying us.

*Days Later.*

What luck… It seems that all of the noble’s that were annoying were all in on the same plan. To say that I wasn’t the rightful Empress, and then use that as an excuse to take over the Empire. Stupidly, their plans were easy to find out, and on top of that, there is no way in hell that they would ever be able to take this Empire from us.

We’re just far too strong and prepared for such a thing to happen. Our secret military force already knew about their plans, they were just waiting for more information until they acted. As I didn’t want to be seen as a tyrant, I explained all fifty of these noble’s crimes to our people. Of course, I did that before I had them all executed.

Amelie: “See? You didn’t have to go on a killing spree at all.” She said with a happy smile.

Solia: “Didn’t I though? I just did it in a more professional manner.” I reply with a chuckle.

Nia: “Yes, but at least Yona and Celia won’t be upset with you.” She said.

Solia: “True… Now if only those two would return with good news.” I say with a sigh.

Lia: “We just have to wait, Solia.” She said with a warm tone.

Solia: “…”

Taking over an entire continent and then having your Empress be bedridden, on top of having your princess go missing, isn’t a good look. If it wasn’t for our secret military force that keeps everyone in check, there would have been a few rebellions already…

Having less strong people here isn’t good either. At least, Amelie’s experiments have been going smoothly. As the other method was forcefully removed by Ria, which Amelie said probably cost her an immense amount of MP to actually erase from our memories, even though she is far away. The new method seems to be better. Well, it seems to be less dangerous…

Solia: “Amelie, how goes the experiment?” I ask with a curious tone.

Amelie: “I’ve gotten to a good place to stop for now. I will pick it up again once I evolve. Until then, I will mainly focus on leveling up.” She answered.

Solia: “How many levels do you need until you can evolve?” I ask.

Amelie: “A little over two hundred more. Ah, right. I forgot to mention, but I will be heading to the same continent as Ria and Celia.” She advised.

Lia: “What? Why?” She asked with a confused tone.

Amelie: “Mainly to get more levels. The monsters here are stronger now, yes. But I need even stronger ones to evolve. I don’t know if I will end up meeting Celia and Ria, though.” She answered.

Solia: “…I don’t feel good about losing another powerful person. Ria erased the memories of the other methods, so doesn’t that mean that Celia used it again? If so, then maybe because they needed the help?” I ask with a thinking pose.

Amelie: “Hm? Ah, no. Ruina told me that Celia just did it on a whim. The monsters and beings there are strong, but they haven’t find anything that they couldn’t handle yet.” She replied.

Solia: “Well, that’s good then…” I reply with a sigh.

Nia: “Having you there with them to help find the cure, might speed up the process. But how will you get there?” She asked with a curious tone.

Amelie: “Thanks to me gaining all of Celia’s Skills, I can use a spatial storage. I’ll just fly until I run out of MP, and then I will take out a boat to chill out on until it regenerates.” She replied with a laugh.

Solia: “…”

Right… I forgot who Celia’s first mother is… Not even Yona could come up with such a crazy plan. What’s worse, is that the plan will most likely work out. Considering that it is Amelie. Even if a sea monster tries to kill her, she could easily deal with it.

Solia: “Fine, then I wish you safe travels.” I say with a defeated sigh.

Amelie: “Of course! I greatly look forward to being able to see Celia and Ria again. One of them is my wife, and the other is my daughter, you know.” She replied with a bright smile.

With no way to really convince her to stay, as she had good reasons to go to Celia and Ria, we watched as Amelie flew off into the sky. We just have to hope that she will make it there in one piece. I mean, she should? Ah, this sucks… Yona was always the thinker, I am just a fighter… If it was Yona, would she have let Amelie go? I don’t even know…
