Outside the haunted house that he just finished conquering, Mark checked the time and saw that he had plenty before the movie would end so he continued forward. He, of course, refreshed his Bark Skin and Space Shield spell and cast Fly on himself so he could fly whenever he wanted.

The funny thing about this floor was he needed to follow a brick road but instead of it being yellow and happy, it was gray and gloomy. Actually, everywhere he looked, it was gray and gloomy.

In the distance, he saw a street sign on a crossroad and remembered that in horror shows, the crossroad was where you go to summon the devil to trade your soul for something you wanted.

When he neared the crossroad, he saw a man with his back to him standing in the middle of the crossroad. The clothes that the man was wearing were familiar. When he got near, the man turned around and Mark saw that it was Sam, his best friend from Earth.

Mark identified the man and it said that it was an elite Mirror Wraith. The mirror wraith screeched an ungodly sound and then turned black which looked like a huge wraith, so he summoned his bush golem and commanded them to attack. The mirror wraith summoned three wraiths and zombies crawled from the ground in front of the wraith.

The monsters on this floor really gave Mark the creeps so for comfort, and to help the bush golems, he summoned his Tree Golems to help them and then he cast Dryad’s Circle on top of the golems to heal them and damage the undead.

The fast zombies attacked the golems then the wraiths joined them. Mark saw that the elite mirror wraith was a caster that started cursing the golems, but it was ineffective since the golems were in the middle of Dryad’s Circle. The Dryad was also very fierce and used her magic to assist the bush and tree golems in fighting the undead. The dryad cast Thorn Whip and summoned illusory animals that attacked the undead. The healing aura of the circle also did considerable damage to all of the undead and Mark was just basically watching the fight by then.

Mark was actually enjoying his role as the audience of the battle. The mirror wraith noticed him and cast a de-buff on him, but it only decreased his stats and knew that it was temporary, so he didn’t bother to do anything to dispel it. After several minutes, the undead were vanquished and the dryad looked at him triumphantly before the Dryad Circle spell expired. Actually, during the fight, Mark needed to refresh the circle spell several times to make sure that the dryad would assist the golems in fighting the elite monster and its summon.

Mark saw that there were three drops, so he put them in his inventory. He admitted that he was enjoying the floor far too much. Its spookiness invoked a sense of adventure in him like visiting an amusement park haunted house with his friends or family when he was younger. He knew it was scary but deep down inside, he knew that he was safe there. He then thought that maybe he was just like his mother who loved the horror genre, as long as he was safe.

He remembered that he did enjoy zombie movies or horror movies that involved something chasing the heroines. What he didn’t like was horror stories about the devil and evil possessions. Those give him the creeps.

Mark dispelled the summons and refreshed his buffs as well as the Fly spell. He continued moving forward and in the distance, he saw another cemetery. He knew then that enemy encounters on this floor would be in cliché locations like cemeteries, haunted houses, or crossroads.

He summoned his Bush Golems and Tree Golems and commanded them to attack the four ghouls that he could see in the middle of the cemetery. When the ghouls saw the golems, they screeched and ran towards the golems. The scream actually summoned another four ghouls somewhere and then five zombies popped out from the ground to attack the golems. Four wraiths also appeared, and he saw that three elite monsters appeared. One elite zombie, one elite ghoul, and one elite wraith and he assumed they were elites based on their size.

Mark went all out. He summoned a Forest Guardian to assist the golems and cast Forest Sanctuary in the middle of the battle. The healing aura of the sanctuary gave considerable damage to the undead and all the magical beings attacked the monsters as well.

The unicorn, in all its splendid holiness, was the champion, using its horn to attack the elites. The dryads cast their spells and the sprites and small fairies also summoned their magic to attack. The glowing flowers also brightened significantly like lamps that did additional damage and because of that, the fight didn’t last long. As a matter of fact, the fight didn’t even last five minutes before the monsters were all vanquished.

Forest Sanctuary only had a twenty-second duration so he needed to cast it several times to assist the golems but the fact that the magical beings that came with the sanctuary joined the fight, signified the fact that the fight wouldn’t last long.

Mark suddenly found that he was enjoying using the plant mage skill tree and was excited to see what the next set of skills would be in this section of his system interface. He also couldn’t wait to spend the significant number of skill points that he accumulated on his skills to check if any of his skills would change if they reached a certain amount of level.

He saw that four items dropped and one of them was actually glowing purple. He still didn’t identify it and would only do so once he completed the floor. He liked doing it all at once because the wait and the number of items brought a much heftier amount of excitement compared to identifying just a few items.

Mark didn’t know how far along he was before he completed the twentieth floor but based on his experience, he probably was halfway through, but it was already six in the evening, so he decided to stop and continue the next day. He flew back to the entrance and went outside the dungeon. He was glad to see that the twins and Nedertu weren’t home yet, so he took a shower prepared dinner for them, and waited while reading his novel on his tablet.
