"We're going to have to watch our step, George," said Fred, pretending to tremble, "with these two on our case . . ."

"Yeah, it looks like our law-breaking days are finally over," said George, shaking his head.

And with another loud crack, the twins Disapparated.

Chris shook her head looking at the ceiling through which they could now hear Fred and George roaring with laughter in the room upstairs.

"They've always said only prats become prefects. . . . Still," Ron said with a sigh but then added on a happier note, "they've never had new brooms! I wish I could go with Mum and choose. . . . She'll never be able to afford a Nimbus, but there's the new Cleansweep out, that'd be great. . . . Yeah, I think I'll go and tell her I like the Cleansweep, just so she knows . . ."

He dashed from the room.

"Chris, could I borrow Leon so I can tell Mum and Dad? They'll be really pleased. I mean, prefect is something they can understand" Hermione said.

"Sure go on." Chris said.

Hermione smilied and walked out with Ginny, leaving Chris and Harry alone.

"So Prefects, huh?" Chris said casually. "Do you think there is a chance they'll make me a Prefect next year?"

"Yeah. Maybe. You're very good at your classes like Hermione." Harry replied picking up the pile of clean robes Mrs. Weasley had laid upon it, and crossed the room to his trunk.

"Nah, I don't think so. I've broken enough rules to be a Prefect." Chris said flopping down at his bed.

"But you weren't caught for that.." Harry said bending on his trunk. "On the other hand, I..."

Harry didn't finish that sentence and started to rummage through the things in his trunk.

Chris noticed Harry wasn't looking at her. It wasn't that hard to guess what's going on in Harry's head.

"Harry, are you jealous?" Chris said with surprising tone, though she wasn't that surprised.

"No, 'course not." Harry replied defiantly, but didn't look up.

"Harry?" Chris said tentatively.

The last thing Chris wanted was to Harry feeling jealous and a make distance with his friends. Chris knew it'll make him vulnerable; which was not safe for him, considering the current situation.

Chris continued to stare at Harry. Harry felt Chris's gaze, he sighed, stopped rummaging and straightened up.

"Tell me Chris, how would you feel, if Ginny and Colin becomes Prefect and not you?" Harry said keeping his back towards Chris.

"Honestly?" Chris said smiling. Honestly, she didn't mind these things like Prefect, Head girl, house cups. She never thought a simple title could express what she was or how much power she possessed. And that goes for everyone. Just because someone is not a Perfect doesn't mean they're not powerful or brilliant enough to be one. But right now, Harry wasn't going to hear this explanation so Chris decided to say something else.

"Well... I would have felt left out." She said. "Maybe a little jealous too."

"Really?" Harry asked, and turned to face her.

"Yes but you know, they're always happy if I achieve something. They're my friends so I'll be happy for them as well."

"Right." Harry said sitting down beside Chris.

"I know what you're felling." Chris said smiling. "And you're right. You've definitely went through more difficulties than Ron and Hermione. You deserve to be Prefect. But have you thought Harry, why Ron was upset with you last year?"

Harry didn't respond so Chris continued,

"Ron always feels overshadowed by you and Hermione, Harry. First he had five brothers, who are different kind of specials, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George. They all something, aren't they? Then he became best friends with the boy who lived and the brightest girl in your year, you can imagine, how he felt when everytime people noticed him either because of his brothers or his best friends."

Chris saw Harry was looking disappointed... disappointed on himself.

"Sorry. You're right. Ron's happy and I should be happy for him." Harry said and tried to smile.

"I know you will be." Chris said.

"Chris, why do behave so differently time to time?" Harry asked suddenly. "You were acting cold few days ago, now you're giving me friendship advice. You never liked Ron and now..."

"What can say, I'm just awesome." Chris said chuckling. "I behave according to the situation. It's called adaptation."

Harry shook his head, grinning.

"Just caught her!" Ron said happily, as he entered the room. "She says she'll get the Cleansweep if she can."

"Cool," Harry said. "Listen — Ron — well done, mate."

The smile faded off Ron's face.

"What happened?" He looked back and forth between Chris and Harry. "Harry, listen, I never thought it would be me! I really thought it would be you!"

"Nah, I've caused too much trouble," Harry said smiling this time.

"Yeah," said Ron quietly, "yeah, I suppose..."

"Oh quit being modest, Ron. It doesn't suit you." Chris said getting up. "Let's face it, you deserved it, because all of the adventures you went through with Harry."

Ron grinned a little. Chris patted him on his shoulder.

"Good luck and don't put me into detention." Chris said and left the room.

She heard Ron and Harry laughing.

Mrs. Weasley returned from Diagon Alley around six o'clock, laden with books.

"Here.." She landed total ten books on Ginny's bed. Three for Ginny, Three for Chris and four for Hermione. "Your books. Now, people are arriving for dinner, I want you all downstairs."

She hurried out of the room.

Down in the basement Mrs. Weasley had hung a scarlet banner over the heavily laden dinner table, which read CONGRATULATIONS RON AND HERMIONE — NEW PREFECTS. She looked in a better mood than Chris had seen her all holiday.

"I thought we'd have a little party, not a sit-down dinner," she told Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Chris and Ginny as they entered the room. "Your father and Bill are on their way, Ron, I've sent them both owls and they're thrilled," she added, beaming.

Fred rolled his eyes.

Sirius, Aurelia, Lupin, Tonks, and Kingsley Shacklebolt were already there and Mad-Eye Moody stumped in shortly after they sat down.

"Oh, Alastor, I am glad you're here," said Mrs. Weasley brightly, as Mad-Eye shrugged off his traveling cloak. "We've been wanting to ask you for ages — could you have a look in the writing desk in the drawing room and tell us what's inside it? We haven't wanted to open it just in case it's something really nasty."

"No problem, Molly . . ."

Moody's electric-blue eye swiveled upward and stared fixedly through the ceiling of the kitchen.

"Drawing room . . ." he growled, as the pupil contracted. "Desk in the corner? Yeah, I see it. . . . Yeah, it's a boggart. . . . Want me to go up and get rid of it, Molly?"

"No, no, I'll do it myself later," beamed Mrs. Weasley. "You have your drink. We're having a little bit of a celebration, actually . . ." She gestured at the scarlet banner. "Fourth prefect in the family!" she said fondly, ruffling Ron's hair.

But another thought occurred to Chris.

"Your magical eye can see through the things, is that mean you know how the Boggart actually looks like?" She blurted out. "I mean no one how boggarts look. But..."

"But I know." growled Mad-Eye with mysterious smile, which didn't add up with his intimidating appearance.
