Liarte concentrated on the rain.

This situation was different from when she made it rain across the empire.

At that time, she used her abilities purely unconsciously.

Furthermore, that duration of rain was not that long, just about an hour or two.

She recalls herself fainting that day when she told Aaron that she would leave Birce.

‘I can’t feel it anymore.’

Aaron’s expression, when he handed her the flowers he saw at the lake because they were pretty, was kind like a grandfather treating his granddaughter.

Now even if Aaron tells her to leave Birce, it won’t hurt.

Instead, she’ll ask him why he’d say that.

‘The people of Birce are kind.’

People feared Birce just because they have the Power of Death.

They were reluctant to say that they had Black Knights and assassins carrying their blood.

But for Liarte, Birce was a place to go back and belong to.

‘I have to imagine something else.’

Raindrops began to pour down as she recalled her own execution ceremony before her regression.

Heavy rain began to fall from the gray sky.

A bright light came on as the Awakened gave their power to the magic circle of water under Liarte.

She remembered the sensation of her life being taken away.

At that moment, a raindrop fell on her shoulder.

[sound effect of fire being hit by water.]

When she opened her eyes slowly, heavy rain was pouring from the sky.

‘When I faced death, was I sad?’

It wasn’t sadness.

She knew that the people of Elheim would abandon her once again.

‘Or was it regret?’

‘Yeah. It was regret.’

She was happy when she came to Birce after her regression, but she regretted the life she had before her regression, when she didn’t leave Elheim.

“Liarte.”

Michael put his clothes on Liarte.

“If you keep getting rained on, you’ll catch a cold.”

It was warm and sweet.

If she could go back before her regression and see herself being executed, this was what she would say.

‘You did your best.’

Her experiences of living at that time allowed her to meet Birce after her regression.

And allowed her to save the people of Birce.

‘Good job.’

The rain covered the flames of the deep forest, which had been burning red.

When Liarte thought that there was no meaning in living anymore, it seemed that the rain resonated with her feelings well.

Emotions were erased, and only the sense of rain was retained.

‘You’re not good enough yet.’

The rain faded.

Making it rain was tricky for Liarte, who was poor at using her own abilities pricisely.

If it was Elheim’s other awakeners, they might have made it rain without using this much energy as she’s doing now.

‘What am I supposed to do?’

‘How can I keep this rain going?’

At that moment, a clear energy permeated Liarte.

Then the Power of Water filled her again.

“Ah.”

She reached out unknowingly.

The rain was starting to pour heavily again.

The Power of Water was being brought back to Liarte’s origins.

“It’s the Power of Water.”

She whispered.

The blue water from somewhere continued to gather around Liarte.

The power that was originally hers.

As said by the Water Spirit King.

It was the power the current Duke of Elheim stole from the first owner, Jurien, to be born, and the symbol of Elheim.

‘It was all my power.’

The power of all the flesh and blood of Elheim belonged to Liarte.

“What’s this?”

Michael recognized the Power of Water.

A long time ago, he had entered the deep forest and had sensed the sealed Power of Death.

The peculiar thing he sensed now was the smell of water.

The faint smell of water became clearer and clearer as it approached Liarte.

The rain grew louder again.

Now, it continued to rain without Liarte’s control.

“The fire is going out, Michael.”

The moment their eyes met.

Michael hugged Liarte without realizing it.

He was already wet and disheveled in the heavy rain.

His hot breath touched Liarte a little.

“I am glad you’re alright, Liarte.”

“I thought I could put the fire out somehow. I’m sorry if I worried you.”

Even in the darkness of the night, Michael’s hair and eyelashes were easy to recognize.

Raindrops fell off his shiny platinum eyelashes.

It looked as if Michael was crying, so Liarte felt sorry.

“Michael, I’m fine.”

Without realizing that his red eyes were filled with passion close to obsession, Liarte comforted Michael.

“Were you surprised?”

“I was very surprised.”

His languid, low voice sounded unusually childish.

Liarte thought that because she couldn’t see Michael’s beautiful red eyes.

“I don’t want you to be in danger again.”

“Michael, I-”

Michael said before Liarte could finish her words.

“But I know that if another similar situation comes, you will continue to go to such dangerous lengths. So take me with you, Liarte.”

It was an unexpected remark.

“If you’re in danger, I’ll be in danger with you. If you die, I’ll die with you. If you promise me that, I think I’ll be relieved.”

He whispered sweetly, like a demon who came to seduce her.

The face of someone giving an enticing offer was very fascinating for her.

Liarte didn’t notice it, but the reality was it meant falling into hell together.

“All you have to do is make this one promise.”

Michael’s lips gracefully grew into a smile.

Liarte, who was quietly looking at Michael, raised her hands to wrap his cheeks.

“Yes, I will.”

Said Liarte, getting caught up in the rain.

“I promise.”

‘Ah, how lovely Liarte is at the moment she says this.’ Michael gave up on resisting and gently clasped her hand.

With his other hand, he caressed her face and ear.

As if it was okay for him to touch her like this, she didn’t avoid staring at him.

At that moment, they heard people approaching.

From afar, the light from a lamp drew closer.

“Young Master, Young Lady!”

They were the servants of Birce.

Michael, who moved like he was possessed by the magic of the night in the rain, came to his senses.

Liarte got away from Michael.

“The servants must have come looking for us.”

If this had happened in the past, Michael would have lightly berated himself for losing control.

But now, it was a pity that he lost the subject of his affection that he had in his hand.

“You can touch me, Michael.”

Liarte suddenly said.

“Instead, let’s do it again next time.”

She could say this because she didn’t know what Michael was going to do.

“Liarte.”

Michael smiled softly.

“Even if my whole life goes by, I won’t be able to defeat you.”

In fact, as soon as his hands fell from her face, she also didn’t know that she felt sad.

* * *

The rain fell over the deep forest.

Carmen smiled bitterly in the heavy rain that fell like it’s the rainy season.

“We got help from her again.”

It was a power beyond common sense.

Standing next to him, Aaron swallowed the lump in his throat and was restless.

“What?”

“Isn’t it painful for her to use this power?”

“Please worry about me like you worry about her, Father.” (e/n Damn. I’ll worry about you, I volunteer)

Carmen, who burst into laughter as if he was out of spirits, supported his staggering body.

Aaron was also in worse shape than he thought.

“You’re physically strong, unlike Li-Liarte.” (tl/n yes, the old man stuttered.)

“You still can’t pronounce Lili’s name properly. I can’t believe the day that Aaron Birce is ashamed of something has come.”

The Power sealed within the deep forest was powerful.

Carmen and Aaron were preparing for the worst.

If the deep forest burns, all the power within is released to the world at once.

The two decided to absorb the said ability in their bodies if such a thing happens. (tl/n basically, a naevis sacrifice. e/n who dafuq is naevis?)

Fortunately, the core of the deep forest seemed to have not been touched by the fire.

Birce’s ability was released, but only a small amount.

Nevertheless, absorbing it was also difficult. Carmen murmured, catching his breath.

“What a great and terrible power.”

“Be careful not to be eaten up by your power.”

“I know. You too.”

Carmen laughed.

“It’s a bad idea to die in a day with the time reversed. It would be the worst way to die, feeling the sensation of being mixed with the fragments of the future.” (e/n I honestly don’t know either)

It was a meaningful expression for talking about the ability known as the Power of Death.

It was also said because no one was listening in on Carmen and Aaron’s conversation.

“There are people coming.”

A bright light shined from afar.

A large crowd was coming towards the two.

No, to be precise, they were approaching carefully as if they were trying to examine the condition of the deep forest.

“Aaron. Carmen.”

The familiar voice of Liarte was heard among the lights.

As they got used to the light, they could see Liarte properly. Next to her stood Michael, as usual.

“Are you okay? I heard that you two went to the entrance of the Deep Forest.”

“We’re okay, Lili. thanks to the fire going out, nothing happened.”

Carmen lied nonchalantly.

Among the entrances to the Deep Forest, the part they were in was unusually close to the lake.

The light of the lamp shone on the lake just behind Liarte, making the surface of the water shimmer.

The burnt trees were charred.

It was at that moment when Liarte moved forward.

“Young Lady! It’s dangerous!”

Some of the staff shouted in astonishment.

A charred black tree was falling over Liarte’s head.

“My Baby!”

Aaron ran off like a bolt of lightning.

Aaron lost his balance as soon as he hit the tree.

Both of them slipped into the lake because he wrapped his arm around Liarte’s head.

Aaron and Liarte’s shadows sank beneath the surface of the lake.
