"So I'm not registered?" So it would seem she was no longer a student.

"I'm sorry miss, your registration wasn't registered in the grace period offered by the school." The woman on the other side of the line answered, tone neutral. "We offered two months for any change on your status from the [System], but neither you nor your Guardians/Parents, sent anything. So we marked you as non-interested."

A sigh escaped her mouth, "Yeah...Did you try to contact my parents to ask?" She said with mirth in her tone, the other side remained silent since of course, the school would know her status.

And she was an orphan right now, no way [Mother] would send a divine oracle just for this...Right?

No? Not even a little one?

Dang it.

" Okay then, can I register as a transfer student or do I need to go again as a first grader? I remember someone saying that our grades depended on our talents and [skill]." Elizabeth said on the phone again. Akira and Rena were third graders now instead of second after all.

"You would need to do a [Test] and we would record your [Skills] and [Status], we will not be checking [Level] or [Titles] as those are the more easily hidden parts." The woman on the other side of the line answered. Well, at least she wouldn't need to worry about her title.

Or how to explain her current status points, she had enough for a former level 8...Now maybe more, as the job quality affected the end status point.

"Okay then, register me for one of those...Yes...Elizabeth Starbright...Okay...." And so she ended her call, "I am officially not in education, employment or training...A NEET."

Rossie just looked at her from the other side of the dining room and started laughing at that, "Oh Eli-Eli, that was precious." She said in the short moments she wasn't laughing.

"Anyway...So with these new changes, most will probably be overall weaker all across unless they have access to weird or powerful sounding [Jobs]." Elizabeth started saying arching one of her eyebrows at Rossie.

"Or a [Title] that invalidated that, I could get to preserve most of my status thanks to my [Saint of Healing] title," Rossie answered truthfully, confirming what would be one of his principal fears.

"And as such, Akira probably managed to keep his status as normal too...So did Rena and Michael...Not that Michael would be a problem." Elizabeth mused, the last one...She didn't have any feeling of him being a problem, besides the point that he might find a problem with her again.

But he would be harshly limited by the [Job] system unless he went like Rossie and her and built magic circles on demand, but without access to a [Soulscape] to stockpile them...Yeah, she couldn't see a way for him to be a problem.

"Well, I need experience then. I could pass up as a higher level than I am thanks to my current status point total. But I will still be behind the curve." Elizabeth said while standing up from the couch and walking towards Rossie. "So...How do you get exp?"

"Before...It was mostly from doing things, finishing your homework? Exp. Do a chore? Exp." Rossie started saying, she then turned her head towards the door. "Detain a criminal and you have a job related to that? Exp. Work towards something you are meant to do? Exp."

That was very clear cut and easy enough, she wasn't sure it would allow people to level that far though, there would be a point where doing chores and work-related stuff would give diminishing returns... Maybe then only combat-related jobs would be allowed to level further?

As the ones fighting won and lost they would give more exp, creating a vicious cycle of growth between all parties, "So...I will get exp for new stuff I do...And since most of my [Achievements] didn't parse...Doesn't that mean I get exp for anything I do?" Elizabeth said while walking in circles in the dining room.

She liked to think this way recently, didn't have many memories of doing so before, maybe something that bled over? Hard to tell.

"I mean...Yes? Probably? I think you could pass as a first grader with your current status, but if you wanna go to second-year classes with me you will need more." Rossie said from her couch, "You will need...Around 254 status points across your status to qualify as a C-Tier, that would be around levels 20-40 for a crap [Job]..."

"So that would be..." Elizabeth started doing math on her head, "Around level 10 for me?" And brought the math app on her cellphone, "Let's see...Yep, seems about right...I could get close enough at level 9 with 238 status points, but level 10 will put me at 259 status points."

Elizabeth continued rumbling while batting away a new notification for a new skill, this time [Math] followed by [Complex Math Formulae], the second was even available to be added to her [Job]...Was it because she was using a magic formula with the Magic Circles?

"...Eli-Eli...Your job...How many points is your job giving you?" Asked the pink-haired girl, somewhat surprised at her... Didn't she remember her previous status?

"Dunno, I stopped checking since the job doesn't affect my status point gains, I get 21 points per level. All available to be distributed by me, unlike before where I only could organize 14 and the other 7 would self allot." Answered Elizabeth finally happy with her math results, "Yes, level 10 would be enough to get me enough points. Now I need to decide on a build...I liked being half physical, but for now, I think that I will focus more on the magical side...My job seems to be more oriented that way anyway."

"...So you will have as much power as a level 15 with the full status point allotment at level 10...At level 15 you will have as many status points as a level 24...And it will only snowball from there..." Rossie spoke as she continued doing math from her side.

"And at level 24 I will have as much as a level 36 yes, this will snowball in the later parts, but...I will still be behind Akira at the same level since he has that stupid skill." Elizabeth said wondering what Rossie was on about.

They were [Heroes] and had the skills to back em, "You aren't that different in that aspect Rossie. You were using high-end healing magic at low levels, [Healing] magic that you shouldn't be able to cast." Elizabeth said pointing at their shared past, "Michael was using multiple elements without loss and on barrage, Rena has mastery over swords way beyond what she should be able to have...."

And finally, "And Akira...Receives a boost on the status and uses broken equipment summoned from god knows where." And Elizabeth? "I have status, and that's about it, that is all I got. I may be able to snowball in the future, but the question is when this will happen and if It will be before Akira even tries something."

And wasn't that the most important question?

Why had they acted as if they didn't recognize her? Did they forget her? Did they get hit by whatever [Mother] and [Father] did on their ascension?

She had the [Hero] Title too now, so maybe he saw her in a positive light because of it? But she wasn't sure if she had gotten any advantage from it, she didn't have some extra skill besides the [Heroic Party] but that seemed to be something she was already doing anyway, if anything it was something closer to what she was already doing. And it was something akin to what she had done with her [Soulscape] with the whole apartment.

So, what was her buff? What was what she got from the [Hero] title?

Nothing?

Tch...She hated this [System].

"So, time to search for new [Exp] experiences, any suggestion?" Asked Elizabeth while wondering what they could do.

While she had some ideas, when everything could be free [Exp], it made it harder to think about what to do, in theory she could just go to the park and run and get experience because it would be [The First time] she did that. But that would mean proficiency in the [Running] skill, and in turn, could mean that she could lock herself out of getting easy skills.

"We could go and run in the park?" Rossie said, giving the easy answer.

"....Fineeeee." Answered Elizabeth, she supposed it was easy enough, and if nothing else it could help her get some extra status to constitution?

"If you ever want to get the [Running] Skill you can always just run a marathon or something later, it's easier to get them in competition anyway." Rossie said while walking into their shared room, and winking at her "I will get ready then, " leaving her in the dining room wondering what that was about.

Only for the realization to hit her when the door closed as she saw a shirt fly by towards a corner of the room, was....Was Rossie inviting her? Was she tempting her just so she would attack her?

...Should she?

On the one hand, she kind of wanted to, on the other hand...She was currently (officially) her friend only, and while she professed her love to Rossie, and the girl seemed to love her back... They didn't really settle on something official.

She had permission from [Mother] and [Father] to have her as girlfriend...Unless they thought of another pink-haired girl when making those comments in her status, but that didn't seem...probable.

She hoped, on the other hand...She wasn't sure what Rossie's family would think about this, she was aware that the girl was an orphan, and that she got adopted into a family at five. But she didn't know her parents, so...Should she present herself first?

That would be the thing right, presenting herself and asking for Rossie's hand, wasn't that how these kinds of things went?

"I'm ready Eli-Eli," Said Rossie opening the door, had she changed that quickly? "Did I take too much time?" Asked the pink-haired girl, she was now dressed in a sports shorts with a tight tank top that really showed her curves.

"I couldn't find my favorite sports ensemble, so it took me..." Rossie said while looking at her watch, "Wow, fifteen minutes...." And then turned her eyes towards her, "You can change now."

And so she was ushered into the room, Rossie seemed...Angry, "If you need help just raise your voice ~" And somehow left her in the room with those words.

She found herself once more in Rossie's room, the bedroom was a mess as if someone had just stood, she remembered fixing the bed sheets in the morning, so perhaps Rossie was indeed trying to tempt her.

Such a vicious cute creature, evidence of her shenanigans all over the room, as part of Rossie's clothes were thrown here and there, "I really need to deal with this." Mumbled to herself Elizabeth while going to the wardrobe and going to the options.

She found a pair of shorts and a tank top similar to the ones Rossie was using but instead of pink with white colors, these pairs used yellow with blue colors. Obviously, Rossie had bought these to match those she was wearing, so Elizabeth didn't think much about it and changed to these.

She was finished changing in three minutes, "So she really wanted me to attack her." Confirming her previous theory.

Elizabeth knew exactly how she felt about that, but even so, she still wanted to go about this in the right order, "First talk to her parents," said to herself, mostly to re-affirm her will.

"Everything okay there? Need help?" Rossie said from the other side of the door.

A hidden undertone in her voice, hunger. That made Elizabeth swallow "Yes Rossie, I'm just fixing my hair~" and lie, her hair was already in a ponytail, but even so, she wouldn't doubt a single second and undo the thing if that door felt like opening.

She was cheating by using [Shadow Manipulation] to keep her hair in place, this allowed her to test her limits with the skill, so it was a good way to practice.

"I'm ready," So before Rossie attacked her, even if that was an unfounded fear as they had already slept together and Rossie hadn't attacked her (Yet) in her sleep(yet).

"On your left " Rossie said as she passed by her side, that had been cute the first time, kinda funny the second time, and somewhat annoying the third time.

Now?

"*pant* *pant*" Now she didn't even have the energy to say something back at her.

Rossie...Should have around the same status as her in the constitution, agility, and dexterity, she should be as fast and should have as much stamina as her, and yet.

"You can do it Eli-Eli " The girl seemed to have unending stamina, and was faster than her, was she using some spell? Probably. Could she identify what it did? No.

Could she do anything about it? No

Was she angry about it? ...Maybe.

She was running on fumes at this point, they had been running in the park for almost two hours and she was wishing for the sweet release from the mortal plane. She had been overconfident, remembering those months on end when she would just walk and jog around within the ruined city. She thought that she could do the same, so she didn't even consider her form while running, nor her breathing.

That was a mistake, she didn't even get a prompt to acquire the [Running] skill!

The [System] didn't even recognize her attempts at running! She did get a skill...A veritable choice of different skills that is.

The [Stumble], [Fumble], [Flounder], [Misstep], and finally the [Waddle] more recently, in the end, she stopped running and just placed a trembling hand against a nearby tree to regain her breath, Rossie eventually noticed she wasn't running anymore and turned to her.

"Here, look this way I will help you a little " Said the pink-haired girl who jogged her way (JOGGED SHE DIDN'T EVEN WALK HER WAY) and closed into her face. She smelled nice unlike her, like roses, the sweat on her almost washed over her skin giving it a lustrous look, and unlike her who was panting like a dying hog, she was breathing evenly.

*smooch*

But she wasn't thinking about much, as the pink-haired girl kissed her on the cheek, she felt her face blush as her heart started pumping blood at high speed, "Right, gotta go!" And she ran away.

She wasn't sure if anyone was looking their way, and even if they did, they would probably think they were a pair of friends jogging around, right?

So why was she running away? Because she wasn't sure how to react to those signs of affection in public!

Notice:

Proficiency in skill achieved:

New skill unlocked:
-Swift Escape.
-Run away.
-Abscond.

You have 72 hours to take one of these skills before the experience expires.

And she promptly ignored that screen while thinking about more important things, like, how could she run again?

Her legs didn't feel like wet noodles anymore, she wasn't having a hard time running either, "I knew you could do it Eli-Eli ", a voice from her left said.

"GYAHG!?!?" And she fumbled a ladylike answer and instead fueled mana into her legs that in turn blurred giving her a boost of speed as they left behind a blue lighting behind.

She had channeled Lighting Mana and acquired a boost of speed from it, she would remember that for later, a quick check on her body confirmed that while some muscles still were sore, more than half had recovered as if someone had healed them...

"Rossie..." Whispered Elizabeth knowing the identity of who had done such a thing.

"Yeees ?" Answered back the pink-haired menace.

"You are getting very good at sneaking spells on me," Elizabeth said marveling at the mastery of healing spells Rossie was showing.

"Heheheh... You make it too easy, I only need to smooch you and the mana does the rest on its own. " Said the healing saint.

No shame or guilt in her tone at all, but at least this would allow her to run some more, maybe she would get a good skill at the end... She did get a good idea for something that could give her a good [Skill], even if she

already had a [Spell] that could do something similar enough.

So for now, she would run, and run...And check on her gains after getting tired of running. Maybe that would give her enough experience to jump to her wanted level?

Probably not, but a girl can dream.
