"So we have another 3 months to prepare." Elizabeth said as they walked towards the cafeteria.

They had just left the classroom when the class ended, most had stayed behind for one reason or another. But Elizabeth didn't really pay attention to that.

"I will be seeing you around." Michael said as he separated from them.

That was also a thing, Michael had come with them, he didn't say anything, and Elizabeth didn't feel any weird soul tendrils nor mana tendrils coming her way or going towards Michael.

So why was he coming with them?

He hadn't said a thing before this either.

"Take care Elizabeth, Rossalina." And with a small bow he left them.

That had been weird, Rossie was calmer too, and that made her worry to no end, usually Rossie would be fuming or something, but lately, the girl had been calmer. More in peace.

"...I may accept-" Started saying Rossie, but Elizabeth would not have it.

"Nope, not happening. I may take in Rena since she looks like an abandoned dog, but Michael is okay on its own." Elizabeth quickly said, she was interested in what she could get out from her Title skill? Yes.

But not enough to share that type of connection with a random person like Michael, she was thinking about doing so with Rena mostly because she pitied her.

Was that wrong? Maybe, but a girl can't lie to her heart... To her fricking bleeding heart.

"Okay then," Rossie said while nodding, she let a sigh escape, had she been worried? "I don't mind sharing so long you still love me."

That...that was just adorable.

"Of course I love you Rossie, no matter what I will always." Elizabeth said comfortingly as she hugged the pink-haired girl.

"So, how are you going to deal with Rena's problem?" Rossie asked as they arrived at the cafeteria.

"Hmm....First I need more levels, may try to get experience by fighting other students around my level." Elizabeth said as she took Rossie's hand and pulled her to the side.

She didn't want to spend time in the cafeteria if possible, the food wasn't that good anyway, and she always got annoyed at the other students as they always seemed to stay as far away from Rossie as possible.

At the beginning it was kind of funny, especially since Rossie did make them act like that, as she kept glaring at everyone around, but now? Nowadays Rossie wasn't even actively doing anything.

So when everyone still kept their wide berth around both Elizabeth and Rossie, she felt angry, of course, she had her [Scouts] back, so she did send one to check on the reasons.

And the answer?

Well, they were scared of Rossie, she knew that already, but the actual reason?

It seemed that it was an open secret that Rossie had killed or made someone else disappear last year, no one had actual evidence, but it seemed that everyone was aware of Aurelia Vitellius...

The girl Rossie killed and poured acid on, the same girl whose remains were at one ditch in part of the greenery of the MPI. The place she was walking towards.

"Eli-Eli?" Rossie asked as she seemed to know where the place Elizabeth was bringing her to.

"We are dealing with this now, lest something gets in the way again, or Akira decides to play dirty...Or any of the one hundred things that can go wrong while dealing with [Heroes]." Elizabeth said as she fed some mana into her shadows. "Make sure no one bothers us."

And ordered the five remaining shadow dragons within her shadows, one shadow dragon was stuck in each [Hero], minus Michael since he wasn't that relevant. So that left her with seven, and since one was stuck on guard duty at the house that meant six.

So she sent five to scout around and kept one within herself for safeguard duties.

"Is it here?" Asked Elizabeth as they arrived at a particularly big tree with a flower bed of purple flowers. There shouldn't be purple flowers around, not here at least.

"It is here, she is right under the weird flowers that are giving of [Space], [Travel], [Cosmic], and [Galaxy] Mana." Rossie said while pointing in the direction of the weird flower patch.

"...Rossie, those are very rare types of manas, how did you manage to even kill her?" Elizabeth said as she extended mana tendrils into the land, they found... "Did you starve the poor girl?"

She found a labyrinth, the ditch the girl's body was in was a humongous labyrinth of extended hallways and rooms, she could see from the top that it was some kind of dungeon, and at the floor of it were eroded remains of green matter that was probably the remains of acid.

Notice:

Found the [Vestiges] of Aurelia Vitellius, The Guardian of Space.

Consume?

Y/N

...."Excuse me what?" Elizabeth just stared at the blue screen, not sure what to think about.

"So can you deal with this thing?" Rossie asked, as she tried to extend a hand toward the flower bed, only for her hand to move extremely slowly.

Elizabeth was focused on another thing though, she materialized her guard duty shadow dragon and sent it towards the labyrinth, it entered easily enough. The mana within the labyrinth didn't seem to do anything against the shadow dragon.

"I think....?" Elizabeth said, while eyeing the blue notification, she didn't dismiss it yet, this one reminded her of something she had seen before, something about having to be careful with [Vestiges].

So instead she sent her shadow dragon to locate the body of the girl, the dragon searched high and low around the labyrinth, but it was mostly empty hallways with all types of corrosion around, as if someone had splattered the place with all types of corrosives.

Her shadows melded just in right and extended all over the place, it was as if the mana seemed to recognize her, as if the owner had left some intent on her mana to allow her to travel just right.

It was as if the girl had been waiting for her to arrive.

Her shadows melded into the labyrinth and she felt as if the whole space started collapsing, the corpse of the girl turned into motes of starlight and flew into her shadows.

And soon after her last blue screen dissipated the flowers wilted, "Good job Eli-Eli, was it hard?" Asked the pink-haired as her hand grabbed one of the wilted flowers. The thing turned into ash in the pink-haired hands.

But Elizabeth was too distracted with something else, something within [Her] stirred, something that she hadn't paid too much attention to before, more because it gave her odd feelings.

She tried to not think too much about it, after all...It was an aspect of her that she didn't want to think too much.

The part of her that [Devoured] the former Elizabeth and Chloe...

The part that seemed to resonate with [Nyctophagia], the part that was [The One Who Devours itself].

"I managed Rossie," Elizabeth answered to her girlfriend as she tried to not think too much about what had happened.

The body of that girl had willingly collapsed and was absorbed into her [Shadow Haven], only...she couldn't feel her [Soul] at all, nothing was new on her [Soulscape].

No new presence, no new mana, no anything really.

The only big difference was that she had a deeper concept of [Space] around her as if she had known all her life how [Space] correlated with everything, she was highly aware of the many inefficiencies her teleportation spells had, she was highly aware of how her [Shadows] interacted with [Space] and how her scouts could jump from shadow to shadow.

She suddenly [Understood] what it meant for her shadow dragons to live and travel among shadows. And how highly ridiculous it was what they did, also understood why no one seemed to say anything about what her scouts did, she doubted many had even the basic understanding to even perceive what her dragons did.

Who would train two complex schools of magic like [Space] and [Shadow], especially if one was shunned by most, and those that focused on skills? Yeah, though luck.

Someone may do so in the future, but for now? For now she had free reign...

"I just need to take a second, this was harder than I thought." Elizabeth said as she sat down on the grass using the nearby tree as a place to rest her back against.

Her new sense gave her an odd feeling, it was almost as if she [Could see] the mana intertwine all around her, not with her eyes, but even so she could certainly [See], unlike before when she needed to focus on her [Shadow Haven] to be able to even perceive the mana-soul threads that tied her with Rossie. Now she could see the mana intertwine between herself and Rossie.

But that wasn't all, not at all, it was...it was almost as if the very mana, but slowly, that was changing, as if the new [Sense] was gravitating towards her shadows before she got the feeling that any Shadow would bring her some degree of information.

If she focused hard enough she could [Feel] through her shadows yes, but it wasn't this clear, now?

Now if she willed it, she could actually [See] through her shadows, through any shadow, examining this new [Sense] she tried to see through a close one, and sure enough she saw herself sitting on the ground with her back against the tree, her eyes closed and her face frowning in concentration.

Turning her attention towards the side she noticed Rossie's face full of worry as she bitted her lip, cute.

"Eli-Eli?" Rossie asked as she turned her attention towards her, well, not towards her, but towards the shadow she was looking through. "Everything okay?"

And she narrowed her eyes, was that...caution?

"Yes Rossie. I'm checking something," She answered as she noticed behind Rossie a few magic circles started forming. Weird, she couldn't feel them, but even so she was seeing the mana form.

[Soul] + [Void] + [Amp] + [Mutilate] + [Dismember] + [Dissolve]...Making up [True Annihilator].

Yikes, that one was a nasty one, the target coordinates....Were somewhat near her, about two meters in a 39° angle of her body....That would be...Were her [Shadow Eye] was?

And she couldn't sense the mana because...Oh right there, cheeky girl, Rossie cast that spell under a ward of the compound spell [Hide Aura] + [Hide Intent] + [Hide Mana], that made up [True Unknown].

Smart Girl.

"Are you playing around with [Shadows]?" Asked Rossie as her spell was about as ready to be launched.

Oh right! Her [Shadow Eye] was in danger, how had she found it anyway? No one ever noticed when she used to spy through her shadows before...

"Yes, why?" Answered Elizabeth as she opened a new [Eye], this one somewhat more hidden, just under a tree branch atop the tree, so she could see both herself, Rossie, and the [Shadow Eye]. "Oh...sorry if that scared you. Didn't know it looked like that"

Yes, her new [Shadow Eye] wasn't something she hadn't seen before, she had seen those eyes plenty of times, more than she cared to admit, each and every time it had been at one moment of great stress when she had lost control over her [Skill] as her emotions ran rampant.

It was those red eyes that screamed [Evil] and [Murder], the same eyes her shadows manifested when she was losing her temper and wanted to [Kill] someone or something.

There were a few differences of course, while this was an evil reptilian-dragon-like eye, it wasn't the same shade of red of those that she manifested before, no. This was one that had an azure blue iris, it still looked somewhat evil though.

So with a flick of intent, she closed the eye Rossie was looking at, and sure enough, as the eye closed itself it dissipated back into nothingness, she noticed her girlfriend keeping the spell in place and the coordinates still locked at the same spot.

"It's okay Eli-Eli. It just surprised me...Just tell me next time okay?" Rossie said as the spell faded away into nothingness, that had been one dangerous spell.

How could something so adorable cast such a vicious and dangerous spell? Oh right, she was literally sitting in the tomb of a girl that had been half-melted then starved to death by Rossie...

Still, Rossie was cute, so that was justice!

"Okay, I'm ready." Elizabeth said as she closed her remaining [Shadow Eye] and opened her normal eyes, the extra information was being funneled into her [Shadow Haven], she would need to summon more [Minions] to offload that information later.

"Thank you Eli-Eli," Rossie said as soon as Elizabeth stood up and dusted herself off, "Thank you for not hating me even after seeing how that girl ended."

That surprised her, hadn't Rossie been aware of what ended of that girl? If not how had she allowed her to come? Was she dumb? Could it be that Rossie was actually dumb?!?

"It's okay Rossie, while it was gruesome and I do think the girl was innocent, it is a done deal, everyone can make mistakes, and it is important to learn from them and be a better person." Elizabeth wasn't quite sure what she was even saying at this point. "And I do think you are a better person thanks to that, if you hadn't been my roommate I would probably be dead or worse for wear."

And that wasn't lip service, if Rossie hadn't been her roommate that first day at the MPI, who knows how she would have survived after her first brush with [Proliferation]. Would this purple girl manage to heal her?

Doubtful, she didn't get anything in the form of [Healing] or [Divine] Mana from [Devouring] Aurelia, so at best she would probably get help? Not that it would make much difference, since she hadn't even seen a [Healer] in the first year beyond that one time.

And she half doubted it was a [Healer], since it had seemed that it was more of a normal [Doctor] than a [Healer]. So yeah, if Rossie hadn't taken that spot, she would probably be dead, or in another totally different place.

So instead she would thank the pink-haired murderously cute girl that was trying to not look at her in the eyes, "Look here Rossie, see?" Elizabeth said while pointing at the spot where the purple-haired girl had been buried.

And with a flex of her will she materialized a shadow bullet that was shot into the ground, the spot caved in and both girls could see an empty hole. "Nothing, there is no evidence of anything anymore." Elizabeth would never admit to anything if they ever asked her either.

She hadn't done anything after all, the purple girl had done it on her own for some reason, she would need to ask Mother about that the next time she spoke with her.

For now?

Well, she had an exhibition match to prepare for, and maybe she would try to cheer up Rossie?

Now, what could cheer her girlfriend up... She would need to meditate on that one, perhaps in the bathtub?

They had a Jacuzzi too...Yes, she would think about that while taking a long bath.
