That was not good!  Really not good.

The bird is just circling for a while.  Round and round.  Being able to move semi-autonomously is sometimes really handy.  Particularly since improving flight has made this circling action almost effortless.

That was not good!  Really not good.

Unfortunately, one kind of circles can lead to another kind of circles.  Fortunately, outside stimulus will eventually break any loop.

That was not good!

... Mmm.  I'm thirsty.  I didn't get enough of that blood into my mouth.

And there it is, the bird breaks off the loop and starts losing altitude, circling in slowly towards the ground.

Why am I thinking of cheese for some reason?

Oh right, my next job.  I have to drop a vial in a cheesemakers.. rennet.  I'm sure I'll be able to find that.  Just gotta find the vial again.

A bit more circling, a brief visit to a puddle, and the vial is picked up out of the tree where it was stashed.  Then on to the new town.

Azdira is a mountain town.  What wasn't mentioned was that the mountain is RIGHT THERE.  One mountain, standing well above the foothills around it, sticking straight up out of nowhere.  It was sort of visible from the distance, but you don't realize the proximity factor until you actually fly up towards it.  Plus flying messes with figuring out how much stuff sticks out.

Anyway, after the bird finishes making mental excuses for how a mountain snuck up on him, he circles down to the town.  Lots of goats, clearly some mines or metalwork given the smoke, the clanging, and the cart full of horseshoes.  But there are two things.

First, gotta let the guards know about the stuck people.  This town does it's guard work with a killing field of bare land and farms, backed up by a few watchtowers manned with bows.

And guns.  That guy's got a gun, or else I'm an eagle.

Bows or guns.  Ranged weapons.  Still, it's simplicity itself to fly over a watchtower and swoop down to land on top of it.  And safe to report about the misadventures of Jordan and Lucille's company, who probably could use some help now that their draft animals are dead.

The bird does eventually report, after spending a good five minutes playing with the guard by pretending to be a ghost speaking to him.  Apparently getting on top of a watchtower completely unobserved is a good way to scare people.  Still, the party should be able to get assistance soon.

Next up is to find the cheesemaker, which isn't too difficult.  Sniff around for the best smelling building, and that will be where the cheesemaker lives.  The herd of goats is also helpful.  That they're being attended to by a small teenager or a very tiny adult woman is not surprising.  That said, this job contains some problems.

First, is it ethical?  The bird doesn't mind hurting people a bit or messing with them, but it's questionable to do something serious.  If this job will wreck the livelihood of the cheesemaker, it'll be wrong to do it.  And given that the tiny cheesemaker seems to really love her animals, she's probably a pretty good person.

Second, what will the stuff in the vial actually do?  If Sala was telling the truth, and she's going to make some cheese of her own with the result, then it shouldn't be too bad.

But sometimes people lie.  If Sala wants me to denature someone's cheese, without them knowing about it.. I really need to know what's in this vial.  Particularly since I don't know why Sala is having me do all this.  If she's getting something big out of this, I need to prank her enough to make things clear in return:  I'm happy to do things to people, but there's no reason to lie to me about what you want me to do.

That's a stumper.  The bird settles down on a rooftop, looking at the sealed vial, with about four cubic centimeters of clear liquid sloshing around the bottom.

.. that's a cork.  I really, really hope I can pry this open myself.  And without spilling whatever is in it.

Containers, my eternal nemesis.
