"RAAAGHHH!!!!" - A roar sounded from the street.

"...I'm so fucking dead." - I say, my face drained of color.

[No, guest user, you are still alive.] - The sweet female voice sounded again.

"... I will deal with you later." - I say with squinted eyes filled with held-back anger.

Without giving the stupid AI a chance to say anything else and wasting my precious time, I put it together with the keychain in my Storage. Every second counts now, and I have no room to argue with a machine. It was better to use my anger on those monsters.

Then, I stood up and went to the roof's ledge, where I saw the fifty-odd mob horde stumbling toward the front of the barricaded pharmacy. Furthermore, I also saw more mobs coming from further down the street, at least a hundred.

That, coupled with the big mob boss, there are over 150 mobs + boss.

Speaking of the boss, I also got to see his ugly mug. It had a fly-trap-like mouth filled with razor teeth, large enough to bite a head off. Its two golden eyes stared, observing me, its body not moving an inch.

But I had no time to think about it as a horde of mindless monsters pressed against the front entrance and started clawing away. However, such behavior made them easy targets.

Aiming with my shotgun, my feelings of guilt and morality at shooting a monster that wants to eat me almost zero, I put my finger on the trigger.

"Die, you fuckers." - I muttered and pulled the trigger.

Bang* Splat*

The shell I fired, a 000 buckshot, easily penetrated the top of the monster I aimed at, its head exploding in a yellowish gory mess as it collapsed. The other monsters were undeterred, however, continuing the siege.

Pumping the slide, I aimed at another monster and shot.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

I continued firing eight more shells, with each shot hitting the monsters. As I was currently on the rooftop of a two-story building, the distance I shot was at most 35ft, the effective range of buckshot.

Kill count: 9

It was easy to shoot them, but I couldn't help but frown.

"No, although I have many buckshot rounds, I should save them for when they breach the barricade." - I thought.

With that in mind, I switched to using slug shots. I summoned one slug at a time from my Storage, using this technique to reload the shotgun in around 20 seconds. And then I aimed and fired.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Like last time, as it was almost impossible to miss, all eight shots hit the mark, taking down eight more mobs. Although not as gory as the buckshot, it did the job.

Kill count: 17

I continued to load and shoot my shotgun for two more cycles, killing another 15 mobs since I hit one on the shoulder, disabling an arm.

Kill count: 32

Although I killed around a fifth of the horde, I saw more mobs coming from afar. Although not as many as the hundred before, at least a dozen more entered my vision. At this rate, the thinning of the horde will slow down, but I had no choice but to continue shooting.

As I reloaded my shotgun again, I couldn't help but look at the mob boss still standing there, only to be shocked.

I saw it in its golden eyes. I swear I did.

Intelligence. Cunning.

It's using the mobs as cannon fodder, waiting for me to exhaust myself and my bullets. It was like a patient hunter, and I its prey.

Thinking about how it was just waiting there for me to exhaust myself and die, I couldn't help but get pissed off.

"Oh, you like playing that game, hah!? Let's see how you like lead!" - I shouted angrily, aimed at it, and opened fire.

Kacha* Bang*

After pumping a shell, I shot a slug toward the boss's chest, a yellowish splat of monster blood soon blooming from the center of its chest.

"RAAAGHHH!!!" - The monster roared in anger and pain as it covered its bleeding chest.

That did some damage to it.

However, I wasn't done yet.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

With the big target only 70-80ft from me, I shot one shell after another toward the boss. Two out of three shots soon hit its body, one on the left shoulder and another on the right kneecap, causing it to kneel.

When I was about to fire the fifth shell, suddenly, the boss grabbed a nearby mob with one hand, like picking a chick, and used it as a meatshield.

Kacha* Bang*

The following shell hit the meatshield, hitting it squarely in the torso. A small splash of yellowish blood and splintered bones splashed on the pavement, but it was still flailing as if it didn't care about its generally fatal injury.

The boss then lightly tilted the meatshield just enough for me to see a smug look on its horrendous face.

I squinted at the ruthless and cunning boss before refocusing on killing the mobs below, killing another 18, and disabling another one.

Kill count: 50

As I reloaded the shotgun again, I found it hard to believe I slew 50 monsters already, more than most veterans kill in wars. On second thought, I was killing mindless and slow monsters, not armed humans, and I have a siege advantage, so it was understandable.

Crack*

As I was thinking about that, there was the sudden sound of a crack. The monsters opened a hole to get inside! I saw one mob after another pouring in, the boss finally standing up while holding two flailing meatshields and advancing steadily.

"Shit." - I cursed and continued firing at the mobs below.

I fired another eight shells, but only six landed on heads because they were moving.

Kill count: 56

And then, I reloaded the shotgun with buckshot shells. Just as I finished, the first of the mobs reached the rooftop.

Kacha* Bang*

I shot a shell from 20ft away, blowing off its head. Of course, more clumsy mobs stumbled up, uncaring of their life. And I continued shooting, each shot aimed at their head, as torso shots are ineffective.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

I kept firing at them, downing eight more in this round.

Kill count: 64

At this point, my shoulder was already throbbing, absorbing the recoil of over 60 shotgun shots. The adrenaline lowered the pain, but not enough to mute it entirely.

Although not to the point of breaking the shoulder, I am confident I am pretty bruised right now.

And yet, the horde remains endless in their mindless and ignorant march toward the guy who slew dozens of them.

Seeing the approaching things, I put the shotgun back into the Storage, replacing it with my pistol.

Bang* Bang* Bang*

I shot at the monsters as I slowly backed away. Due to the short distance, each shot landed on their skull, killing them.

Kill count: 80

Two 8-round magazines and 16 dead mobs later, as I reloaded the third magazine, I reached the slightly raised end of the roof.

Involuntarily, I looked over there, and I saw another same-height roof 7 meters away.

Then, a lightbulb was lit in my head.

"How could I forget that?! Go! Jump!!!" - I decided and did just that.

I stored the pistol and ran toward the mobs, and before they could grab me with their nails, I dashed toward the other roof and did a long jump!

Unfortunately, I had small momentum and jumped poorly, so I only jumped for 4.5 meters before plummeting.

However, just as I was about to fall three floors down...

"Teleport!" - I thought and teleported three meters at a 30-degree angle upwards.

Thanks to that, I barely managed to grab the edge of the other roof.

"Oof!" - I exhaled, my body and helmet slamming into the wall.

Then, with great effort, I slowly climb back up.

"Hah* Hah* Wow, I need to Hah* exercise." - I say to myself.

Bam* Flop* Flop* Bam*

Hearing a noise, I involuntarily looked to the other roof. I saw the stupid mobs blindly falling from the third floor onto the concrete floor in the alley.

Although it was only a 20-25ft fall, it was enough to crack their bones depending on how they landed. I even saw one landing on its neck, breaking it.

"Hah! Nice. Gives me enough time to reload." - I smiled and started reloading my shotgun with buckshot shells.

By the time I finished reloading, another thirty-odd mob had stupidly fallen, each with debilitating injuries.

However, as the sturdy fuckers they are, they didn't care about it. The only thing driving them is their singular purpose of killing me.

Instead of clawing at the pharmacy, they blindly stuck to this building, not knowing where to attack.

"Hah... Maybe I CAN survive this." - I thought optimistically.

But what happened next proved I was being happy too soon.

The boss holding a meatshield in each hand entered the pharmacy roof. At the same time, the mobs who previously marched blindly to the mini-chasm stopped in their tracks as if receiving orders.

"Okay... This doesn't look good." - I muttered.

And I was soon proven accurate as the boss started to measure the distance between the two roofs.

The boss suddenly dropped one of the meatshields while grasping the other with both hands. It suddenly looked at me and gave me a sinister look while taking a few steps back.

"No, it can't possibly mean to—!"

And I was proven right. The boss suddenly charged before throwing the mob at my roof.

However, the first try didn't work out too well.

Splat*

The poor mob was sent plunging head-first into the concrete floor, smashing its ugly face into something even more disgusting.

"Pfft, haha! Way to go, muscle freak!" - I jeered at it, perhaps losing part of my sanity due to all the killing and adrenaline.

The boss seemed to realize I was mocking it, but it only narrowed its golden eyes before picking another mob.

"What, want to throw another one? Forget it! No way you can throw that thing for seven meters!" - I continued to taunt, even taking out an empty pistol mag and loading it in front of its eyes.

The world record for throwing someone is 5.4 meters, all thanks to proper training, technique, and grip. The monster has a not-so-good grip, and although ridiculously strong, raw strength isn't enough to throw an adult man for seven meters.

"Grr..."

The boss growled at my provocation but didn't immediately throw the second mob.

Instead, it changed its grip and started swaying its arms and legs as if preparing for something.

"Hah?" - I squinted my eyes while loading the sixth bullet.

Then, the boss started spinning, and spinning, and spinning, before using its momentum to throw the mob!

Splat*

This time, the mob hit the wall, but I wasn't happy because the boss threw the mob at a 30-degree angle to the right, and it only hit the wall less than half a meter away from the rooftop.

In other words, not only did it break the world record, but it can also throw the mobs seven meters if it gets the angle right!

Even scarier is that this boss keeps learning new tricks on the go. From using meat shields to learning to throw better.

And this is a superhuman monster, not a human or monkey.

"FUCK! This boss is bullshit!" - I exclaim while watching the boss grab a third mob.

"Fuck this!" - I shout and pull out the shotgun and start firing at it.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

I fire two shots at 25-30ft, aiming at its legs.

Why the legs? To prevent it from accumulating momentum with the legs.

My bet proved itself the next moment.

Splat*

Splat*

"RAAAGHH" - The boss roared in pain.

Its left leg got injured twice, causing the boss to fall and throw the mob into the mini-chasm.

When I was about to continue firing at its downed form, the mobs suddenly used themselves as meat shields to cover for him.

"Phew..." - I breathe a sigh of relief as I reload two more buckshot shells.

However, my actions seemed to have finally pissed off the greenish-grey Hulk.

"Huff* Huff*"

It slowly stood up, breathing like a maddened bull. Slowly, I saw it back away to the back of the roof.

"What's it gonna do now?" - I asked warily.

Then, suddenly, like Moses opened the red sea, the mobs made a straight path for the boss, holding two meat shields.

"This boss... is fucking bullshit!!!" - I shouted at the top of my lungs as I pointed my shotgun at the boss.

Then, as expected, disregarding its injured legs, I saw it charging like a raging bull, holding two meatshields to tank any incoming bullets.

Like before, the only thing I could do now was shoot at the relatively unprotected feet.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

I fired three consecutive rounds, some of the pellets landing on its feet, even exposing some bone, but its charge didn't wane.

"RAAAGHHH!!!" - The Boss roared angrily and jumped with its two meatshields.

"THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!" - I yell with wide eyes.

A top athlete attempting a long jump can reach 7.5m, so jumping 7m isn't far-fetched for a superhuman monster. But it holds two adult-sized mobs, each probably weighing no less than 60kg. It means this monster is attempting a 7m long jump with (at least) 120kg weights.

Talk about nonsense.

I could only helplessly watch as it threw the two meatshields aside mid-jump before barely reaching the edge of my rooftop with its feet.

Of course, I wasn't planning on letting it have such an easy time.

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

Kacha* Bang*

I mercilessly emptied the rest of my shots, aiming at its already-injured legs and knees, ripping the meat off and cracking the right knee.

"RAAAGHH!!!" - The boss yelled in pain as it suddenly slipped and fell backward.

However, it was STILL not done. It fucking held onto the ledge, trying to get on the roof. Naturally, I couldn't have that.

Taking out my pistol, I rushed to the fucker and pointed at its exposed head.

"Die, you fucker! Just die!" - I yell angrily and open fire at point-blank range.

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Soon, I emptied an entire 8-bullet magazine at it. The skin on its skull peeled off, one eye popped, and its slightly cracked crown was embedded with bullets.

Yet...

"RAAAGHHH!!!" - It continued angrily shouting as it continued climbing.

"I can't believe I can't kill you, you fucking monster!!!" - I yell and take reload my pistol.

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

I emptied another mag at it, its thick skull even more cracked.

Yet again...

"Grahhh..." - It roared weakly but refused to let go of the ledge.

"Un-fucking-believable. You survived 16 headshots at point blank and STILL don't let go. Fuck it, let's see if you can survive eight more." - I say coldly and reload my pistol with the last loaded magazine.

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Bang*

Bang* Splat*

Finally, at the 24th shot, its thick skull broke, a bullet penetrating its brain.

The light in its remaining golden eye dimmed as it finally plummeted, crushing two mobs under its weight.

Kill count: 80 mobs + 1 boss.

And then, as if the spell controlling them was lifted, the mobs returned to their mindless nature and continued falling from the roof toward me. But this time, they were not attracted to me, but to the fallen boss!

Munch* Rip*

The closest mobs bit the fallen boss and ripped meat out of it, eating it with relish, but then infighting broke out over the carcass.

Looking at the mobs fighting each other like lunatics over the boss, I shook my head.

"Bullshit boss meeting a bullshit end. How fitting." - I shook my head and started loading my magazines with bullets.

While loading the magazines while cross-legged, I couldn't help but wonder.

"Hah... Didn't great-grandad tell me that killing things gives energy? Do these monsters count? If yes, how many points do I have?" - I thought and decided to display the energy points.

Basic Energy: 57.206

"Whaaat?! I only got 57?! Doesn't that mean 80 monsters and a bullshit boss are worth 45 Basic Energy?! This is hogwash!" - I complained.

45 Basic Energy. This is enough for seven round trips to and fro from this reality. In another sense, 80 monsters and a bullshit boss are ONLY worth seven round trips.

It is hard to stomach.

Reaching that conclusion, I inadvertently looked at the mobs below, still fighting and feasting in a frenzy.

Around a hundred mobs were gathered together, and best of all, not after my sorry hide.

It is an opportunity, a chance I probably won't see again.

Thinking about it, I start loading my magazines with new bullets.

Today is Energy bonanza day.
