I held Sung-sun tightly, wrapping my arms around her slender waist.

“You should know by now that I would never abandon you.” I reassured her with an unwavering voice. “You were the first one to believe in me, to stick by my side when I needed it the most.”

Indeed, she had been there for me during a difficult time when I had lost my group of misfit hollows. Her presence had lifted my spirits and improved my confidence.

Sung-sun, hearing my corny words, hid her face behind her face, her usual confidence and snark gone.

“I’m not worried about that, you fool.” She retorted, a slight playfulness in her voice. “You've been stuck to me ever since I first winked at you.”

That was true, I was particularly clingy, especially with her.

Her face frowned, the distinctive pink dots on her skin shifting. “But the idea of you being with Lady Harribel... it doesn't sit well with me.” She admitted. “But, my loyalty to her compels me to support her decision.”

I could understand where she was coming from. We had never formalized our relationship, and I had even unintentionally added Cirucci to my... "harem" before Sung-sun knew about it.

Harribel’s declaration about wanting me to donate my essence to create a child had left Sung-sun feeling confused. She disliked the idea, yet couldn't bring herself to reject her leader's wishes.

I paused for a moment, wracking my mind to find the best way to show Sung-sun how grateful I was for her unwavering support.

Then, I remembered a little gift I had been hiding in my pocket for a few weeks. Something that would serve as a reminder of my love.

“I understand. I’m a bad man and it is true I lust after Harribel.” I said, caressing her olive green hair with my left hand. “But she will never hold the same place in my heart that you do.”

Her eyes narrowed slightly, conveying a mixture of concern and snark.

"Just don't forget who's always been by your side, despite your lustful eyes." She said, her voice laced with a hint of teasing.

I nodded, realizing that my actions have caused her doubts and insecurities. That’s why I steeled my resolve. It was time to take her feelings seriously.

With a knowing smile, I reached into my pocket and retrieved a small box.

"I understand your hesitation, Sung-sun." I admitted, gently placing the box in her hand. "But know this. No matter what happens, you are truly important to me."

Lights seemed to dance in her lavender eyes as she opened the box, revealing a small golden ring adorned with a green gem. Her gasp hinted at both surprise and delight.

“I got this one for you.” I explained sheepishly. “But I didn’t know how to give it to you without causing a clash between you and Cirucci. So I had been waiting for the right moment.”

Sung-sun ignored me, and slipped the ring onto her ring finger, raising her hand to my face. A smile played on her lips, her usual stoic face softened.

“You have a peculiar way of calming me down.” She declared, her eyes gleaming. "You certainly know how to catch me off guard."

I hugged her, cupping her face, and kissed her lightly with tenderness.

Her playful retaliation came swiftly, as she lightly struck my chest, breaking the moment.

"Now, go." She insisted. "We're making a scene in front of everyone, and you promised to train Asguiaro."

A heavy feeling settled upon my shoulders, causing me to hesitate. The thought of leaving Sung-sun's side didn't appeal to me at that moment.

“Can't I fake an injury and lie down on your lap instead?” I proposed, not quite in the mood for training.

Sung-sun rolled her eyes, feigning exasperation.

“Shuu, you must maintain your reputation.” She chided, playfully swatting at me with her sleeve as if shooing me away.

Feeling resigned, I turned and went ahead to torment Asguiaro.

— — — — —

An hour had passed since my visit to Harribel’s place, it was time for our training session.

I paced back and forth inside one of the white rooms of my quarters. My eyes fixed on my red haired subordinate, Asguiaro.

The training room was filled with an intense aura of tension and anticipation.

“Again!” My voice thundered through the chamber, reverberating off the walls. “You call that push-up? Pathetic! Give me fifty more!"

Sweat poured down Asguiaro's face as he struggled to keep up under my spiritual pressure. He pushed himself harder, muscles trembling under the strain. Each exercise seemed to stretch on for an eternity, testing his endurance and resolve.

His face reddened while his single eye got bloodshot with the effort.

Just as I was about to increase my spiritual pressure, an explosion rocked the walls of my quarters, jolting both Asguiaro and me out of our training mood.

Asguiaron kneeled, taking big breaths as he tried to speak to no avail.

I glanced at him, my mind quickly assessing the situation.

“That explosion seems to come from the area near Granz’s lab.” I suggested it based on my mental layout of Las Noches.

Asguiaro, though still catching his breath, nodded and Got up. With our curiosity picked, we made our way out of the room.

“Come, we had to see Granz’s face now. He must be making a fool out of himself.” I proposed, half joking.

“Of course, my lord.” Asguiaro replied obediently, his voice tinged with a touch of arrogance.

Without hesitation, we sprinted towards the source of the disturbance, the long corridors and the sands of Hueco Mundo becoming blurry lines in our sights.

As we reached Szayelaporro Granz's laboratory, our eyes widened in surprise. The once secure room now had a gaping hole in its wall, smoke billowing out into the air. Debris that used to be part of the wall was scattered everywhere.

My brows furrowed as I entered into the room, my eyes locking onto the infuriated figure of Szayelaporro. "What in the hollow's name happened here?" I said, not hiding my amusement.

Szayelaporro huffed, his face twisted with frustration. "That blasted Grand Fisher! He managed to escape during my latest experiment! The fool had no idea what he was getting into!"

Asguiaro's fists clenched, his brows furrowed, and his fangs bared. . "How could this happen? You were supposed to keep him contained!"

Szayelaporro waved his hand dismissively. "Blame it on his own stupidity! He underestimated my brilliance and disdained the powers I gifted him with! But worry not, Acidwire. I shall track him down and make him pay for his insolence."

Asguiaro turned to me. "What's the plan, my Lord?"

I looked at him with a deadpan stare. "I know you are worried about him escaping, you captured him after all." I said relaxedly. “But there is no need to do anything. He bears a grudge against Kurosaki, and if he dares to attack him, he won't survive.”

Asguiaro nodded, a grim look on his face. "You are right, my lord."

“That’s the worst part, he is going to die and lose my precious research data.” Granz continued to complain.

We ignored him, choosing to dismiss his mad words.

“Let's take a break and grab something to eat before my daughters return from their trip.” I suggested, feeling the need for a moment of respite after the chaos of the day.

Aonte We have some family drama before the arrancars make a debut in the human world. I added a poll at the last chapter, it is not that important but it is there.

Omake: Rings

Cirucci looked at the ring on Cyan Sung-sun's finger, her face red and her shoulders trembling.

“Bring it on bitch.” She taunted Sung-sung, flashing her own ring.

“I can beat ten of you anytime witch.” Sung-sun replied.

Noelle and Esmeralda looked at their mothers without blinking while Nel covered their ears. The only problem was that she only had two hands.
