Shar was beholding his wife from above as she collapsed on the bed.

Although he had pinned her down on impulse, he was aware that he was acting totally out of character.

In the past, he had never been interested in the opposite sex in this way.

But these days, I can’t help but be curious about Ram. I don’t know why.

Ever since the first time she rebelled against me that day, I grew absurdly concerned about her.

There are few people who have an opinion about me; especially if they are from the Mercure family.

Ram seems to want a divorce, but letting her go as an option was out of the question.

The Honorable Ram Yeboah, who was sold out of her family home, was a woman with little presence.

She was supposedly not a bombastic person…

But when I am with my wife now, I feel a sense of elation similar to standing on the battlefield.

However, since she was so upset that she passed out on the bed, I was not going to touch her right away.

It’s no fun to do anything to someone like that, and I am not thinking of leaving any children of my own.

(I’m sick of that mess, like I was)

As a graduate of the Mercure family academy, Shar’s magic and magical abilities are impeccable, and he was chosen by the king to be the heir of the former Count of Mercure.

Although he came from a high noble family, he was not the eldest son, and was quickly sent away to the Mercure family at an early age.

But at that time, the Countess of Mercure already had a son.

A boy of the same age as Shar.

He was receiving magic training at the academy just like any other child.

Naturally, the Count and Countess wanted their son to be their heir. They chose the affection between parent and child over duty.

Their son was the second best in the academy, with Shar being the best.

The Count and Countess found him a thorn in their side, and they used every means at their disposal to get rid of him.

Perhaps as a form of harassment, they even omitted some of the training he should receive at the school. This was the part about common sense and socializing as a nobleman. He later taught himself, but even now he wasn’t confident.

However, in the Mercure family, where competence was everything, Shar did not want to cut corners on his training at the academy.

It seemed that the school had an heir before Shar, but that person was also eliminated by the Count and Countess. There was no one around to protect him.

So when Shar turned fifteen…he chose to fight for survival.

He took on the teachers, servants, and the Count and Countess who were against him.

Hue was the first to side with him.

He was the son of the Count’s mistress, and was oppressed by the Countess and her children. His grades were always at the bottom. Only Shar knew why, because he cut corners.

Clearing everything away in order from the top, Shar won the Count title on merit.

With only the academy and the Count’s house to his knowledge, he knew no other way to live.

Shar also had to take care of the children who had sided with him.

With no one to help him, the most efficient way was to follow the examples that the adults who knew him had held.

In this way, Shar, who was feared to be cruel and ruthless, became the youngest ever Count of Mercure.

Shaking my head to erase those bitter memories, I gazed at his wife, who was sleeping peacefully.

I’m aware that Ram hated me. I’m aware of it.

I never knew how to treat a woman, and I had never wanted to until now.

But for some reason, I felt like I couldn’t let go of my wife.

She was the kind of person who would stand up for herself, give her opinion, surprise the calm Huy, and bring a smile to Kanon’s face.

With her, something might change in the blood-soaked Mercure family.

I can’t help but feel that way.
