Chapter 244: Brother, You’re Such a Good Person

Leave a Comment / Reincarnation into a barrier master / By IX

One evening, a group clad in eccentric but incredibly sophisticated and chic attire paraded through the streets of Agartha, astonishing the locals. They rhythmically chanted “Renjuu, renjuu” as they slowly made their way to the red-light district.

Word about this mysterious group, the “Renjuu”, spread quickly, causing a frenzy among the city’s residents eager to catch a glimpse of them. Surprisingly, the Agarthan military was seen guarding their path, preventing any major incidents or accidents.

The Renjuu were drawn to a brothel named Miraya. Unlike the main branch in the imperial capital, Miraya’s exterior was refined and didn’t resemble a typical brothel. This was a deliberate choice by Linos and his team, who focused on revitalizing the city, including the red-light district, after defeating the Lamaron army. They transformed it from a gloomy, crime-organization-run area into a sophisticated and vibrant district, serving not only as a place of pleasure but also as a cultural salon.

The architectural design of Miraya Agartha and the entire district was the brainchild of Rico. The actual execution, far surpassing the initial concept, was done by Gen and his fellow carpenters, members of the Renjuu.

“Welcome, please come in,” greeted the extra hospitable madam as she led them to a spacious room on the second floor. At the perfect moment, drinks and appetizers were served. After Gon’s introduction of the day’s special guest and a brief speech, a lively party ensued with endless flows of alcohol, delicacies, and the company of beautiful women. The Renjuu thoroughly enjoyed the extravagant hospitality of the night.

The next evening, Linos returned to his mansion in the imperial capital, where Gon had already arrived.

“Ah, Gon, you’re back,” Linos greeted.

“Yes, I am back,” Gon replied. “Everything went splendidly at Miraya. Thanks to your arrangements, the service was impeccable.”

Linos chuckled. He had personally sent a letter to the madam of Miraya Agartha, ensuring the staff was well-prepared for their visit.

“How was King Maintia?” Linos inquired.

“He didn’t say much, but he mentioned wanting to speak with you soon,” Gon informed.

“Alright, I’ll make time for him tomorrow,” Linos decided.

As Linos and Gon chatted, the rest of the family gradually returned home, filling the mansion with their usual lively chatter.

——-

The following day, Linos met with King Maintia in a reception room.

“King of Agartha, thank you for accommodating our unusual request yesterday,” said Patterson, King Maintia’s attendant, bowing repeatedly.

Linos smiled. “Glad to hear you enjoyed it. And Patterson, it seems you were quite popular that night?”

The king’s attendants exchanged sheepish looks and smiles.

“We were there for work, so…” he tried to explain.

“There’s no need to hide it. It’s fine to indulge once in a while,” Linos reassured them.

Patterson blushed, turning his gaze away.

King Maintia watched this interaction with a smile. Turning to Linos, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet a true friend and mentor in Agartha – General Layfence.

“General Layfence?” Linos was surprised.

Apparently, General Layfence had also joined the Renjuu, providing security while simultaneously enjoying the hospitality at Miraya.

King Maintia praised Layfence’ insights on romancing women and how to enjoy the process. He expressed his realization that he still had much to learn and was grateful for his time in Agartha.

“What exactly did you learn?” Linos asked, bewildered.

Ignoring Linos’s astonishment, the king continued, revealing his desire to meet Luala, a woman serving under the King of Agartha. He was interested in her father, not for romantic reasons but to gain an audience with Poseidon King, known for his numerous concubines and children. King Maintia aspired to learn from the best in matters of love and desire.

Linos gaped at the king, who looked back at him with sparkling eyes. Despite his words dripping with desire, there was a sense of purity in his passion for romance; his eyes showed no hint of malice.

“Well, setting aside Luala, I’ve also been wanting to meet King Poseidon myself,” Linos said. “If the opportunity arises, I’ll let you know. But be aware, King Poseidon is a busy man. Even his own daughter has to wait two years for an appointment. Don’t get your hopes up too high.”

“I understand,” the king nodded. “I’ll look forward to it. In the meantime, I guess I’ll have to be content with selling paintings and visiting Miraya.”

“Honestly, the women at Miraya aren’t really to my taste. I escorted them out of politeness last time, but I don’t think I’ll be a regular. They were beautiful and the hospitality was wonderful, but… they were almost too perfect for me.”

“Too perfect?” Linos asked, surprised.

Patterson quickly interjected, “Please don’t misunderstand, King of Agartha. Our king isn’t being sarcastic. The women at Miraya were indeed beautiful, but his preference leans more towards… more common-looking women.”

“Common-looking?”

“Yes, he prefers women with distinct features, like thicker legs, larger hips, narrow eyes, or an upturned nose.”

“So, you’re saying… he has a specific type?”

“B-specific?”

“For example, the staff at this guesthouse, like Cyrius with wings on their back… they’re not his type?”

King Maintia pondered for a moment before shaking his head. “No, they’re too beautiful. I prefer to avoid such perfection in the bedroom.”

“So, someone like Minsi, the manager of the guesthouse’s lodging section?”

“Minsi, the petite dwarf woman? I’d be interested, but isn’t she quite old? That’s a pity.”

“So, you mean at Miraya, you were more interested in the women serving drinks and appetizers than the courtesans?”

“Exactly, King of Agartha. Sharp as always. There was a pleasantly plump woman serving appetizers who caught my eye. I would have liked to spend time with her, but I didn’t mention it. I do have some sense of propriety.”

Hearing this, Linos nodded understandingly and said with a full smile, “Brother, you’re really a good person.”

Meanwhile, at the Alison Castle in the country of Vladime, the terrifying visage of the Great King Reborn stared down a line of women.

Before him were the maidservants of King Maintia’s concubines at Alison Castle. They trembled under his intimidating gaze, too scared to make a sound despite their numbers. The large hall was eerily silent.

“I’ll ask again. Is there anyone willing to go to Agartha where my foolish son, King Maintia, resides?”

His powerful voice echoed through the hall, but no one dared respond. They all knew of the Great King’s harsh character and feared speaking out of turn.

After a tense silence, a voice timidly spoke from the back, “Um, shall I go?”

The Great King glared in the direction of the voice. A woman with drooping eyes and a relaxed demeanor stood there.

“What’s your name?” he demanded.

“My name is Noreen,” she replied.

“And your age?”

“I am 18 years old.”

The King nodded sharply, feigning a pleased expression and a strained smile. “Very well, go to Agartha.”

With that, he left abruptly. Though he spoke kindly, his heart was not at ease. The smile he showed Noreen was the only one she would see from him for years, as he continued to ignore her.

Noreen was an unusual woman. Unlike King Maintia’s other women, who submitted to him, she willingly offered herself. To boldly volunteer in front of the fearsome Great King Reborn at the age of 18 was no small feat. This fearless gene within her would eventually play a pivotal role in the destiny of the Vladime country… but that is a story for another time.
