"You must not be aware of the situation you are in. I can easily pick out your brains and gather the information I need from you. Then I will dispose of your worthless human body by feeding you to my army of Grimm beasts. But instead, I chose to keep you alive for one simple reason. I need more firepower. You have proven your strength and powers thus I am giving you a chance to join my cause."
"And what exactly is your cause?" Shadow backs away from the Seer Grimm, but it follows his every moment.
"To make the world of Remnant a better world to live in. To eradicate all of those who stand in my way to change this hellish world into something grander than they can ever imagine. Humans only know destruction and that is why I must punish them with my own swift and all-powerful destruction." Salem looks outside of the castle window and clenched her fist, the glass in the window starts to crack and shatter. She was looking at the endless world of Remnant and the shattered glimmering satellite moon above.
"Look I don't mind following your cause. I know first-hand how evil humans can become, "Shadow says as he moves his arm around in showing manner.
"Do you? Heh. You know nothing." Salem crosses her arms.
"But I don't think killing them will do you any good. If you wanted to end all life in Remnant then you would have already. But you're holding back because of something." Shadow pointed out.
Salem turns her head and faces Shadow with the glass cup filled with her black blood. "Tell me. What is your name?"
"Shadow." He bravely said without fear in his red eyes.
Salem: "You have a lot of bravery for talking to me like that. But bravery kills fools. Let this be your first real test'.
The Seer Grimm wraps around its slimly boney blackish tentacles around Shadow's body, "Wait! What are you doing!?" He couldn't activate his semblance, it was like the Seer Grimm had nullified all of his aura, mana, and semblance energy.
"The Trial of Truth begins." Salem place's her palms on Shadow's forehead and the Seer Grimm's long tentacles go deep inside of his eyes, nose, and his eyeball's. "Aaaaaaah!" Shadow yells at the mercy of such indescribable sheering pain. Cinder watches in horror and so does everyone else in the room, well except for Tryian who was enjoying this moment way too much.
Shadow's mind goes blank and everything around him vanishes.
*Flashback*
"Hey, little guys what are young doing out in here?" Zak jumps into a dumpster and goes towards a cardboard box.
"Meow!Meow!" Cries out a bunch of kittens inside the box. "Don't worry guys you got a new home now!" Zak lefts up the box out of the dumpster and goes back to his house. He was taking out the trash today and that's when he found the kittens as he unloaded his trash. Good thing he found them or they would have been crushed in by a garbage truck.
'I wonder what asshole would leave a bunch of helpless kittens in a dumpster!' Zak tickled one of the kitten's tiny furry chin, it let a big "Meow! Purr! Purrrrr!" And rub its cute little furry head against his Zak's chest.
"Hey! Look! It's that freak who is always saving animals!" Yells out a much larger teen boy who was wearing a baseball cap, he jumps out of his bicycle and walks towards Zak with his gang of friends.
"Fuck off Troy! I don't have time to deal with your dumbass!" Zak snarls as he holds the box of kittens close to his chest to protect them.
"Hey what's in, that box?" Troy has a sick smile on his face as goes over to Zak with a baseball bat.
"There's nothing in it!" Zak steps back and looks for the easiest way to escape the bullies. "Meowww!" Purrs one of the kitten's. Zak's heart sinks.
"He guys hold him down." Troy cracks his knuckles; his muscles were pretty big for a 16-year-old. The two other bullies run and tackle Zak, but not without a fight. Zak fiercely punches one bully square on his stupid face. Blood spurts onto his own face, the other bully kicks Zak directly in his ribs, "Gaaaah!" He shouts out as he falls to his knees and holds himself up with one hand. Troy whacks Zak behind his head and his face slammed onto the snowy pavement below. The two other bullies hold up Zak's head as Troy walks over to the box of kittens.
'Is that me?! Those fucking bastards! And is that Troy!? What kind of memory is this!?' Shadow is angrily floating around his mindscape in his soul form.
"Hey! Zak! Happy birthday!" Troy swing his bat at the cardboard box full of kittens, "Meoooow! Hiss! Hiss!!!Meoooow!" The kittens cry out in pain as their blood spurts up into the air by the heavy impact blow of Troy's swinging bat. "Noooooo!!! STOP! I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU!" Zak roars out as he wildly kicks his legs up and down.
"HAHAHA! What's a birthday without any candles!" Troy takes out his cigarette lighter and clicks it a few times, a spark of flames is seen, he quickly tosses the lighter in the cardboard box. "MEOW!" The kitten's let out their last cries for help as the cardboard box was ignited in flames.
"NOOO!" Zak filled with hate and anger reaches out his hands to save the kittens. The reflection of the bright orange crimson flames was seen on his jet-black eyes. He was too late. He was too weak to do anything.
'Fuck humans! Fuck all of you!' Shadow yells at the top of his lungs as his past memories zoomed by him in his mindscape. He had finally seen the truth. That humans can never be saved. And with this very thought, Shadow knew what he must do with his new life. Conquered everything, without mercy.
'I will never be weak again! Not in Remnant and not in fucking Earth! Not anywhere!!!' Shadow thunders as he breaks out of the Seer's bindspell and slashes it in half with his Dark Dragon Claws, a mass of dark aura formed a dragon claw around his own hands to create this powerful attack.
"So, you have seen your truth?" Salem guides the glass cup towards Shadow's mouth, he quickly snatches the cup and chugs down Salem's blood without thinking twice.
