Standing in front of the full-body mirror in Lyras's room, I took in my current appearance. My eyes were what stood out the most; simply put, they were unsettling. The black sclera and white irises made them look unnatural and unnerving. But The hellfire-like pupils that made it feel like if I stared at something hard enough it would catch flames, drew my focus.

Looking over the rest of my new body, I first noticed that I was nearly a foot shorter than I had been. Before, I had been 6ft exactly; now, I couldn't have been taller than 5'5".

My hair was a dark red at the roots, brightening into a vibrant orange at the tips, and hung down to my lower back. I think I'll ask Lyra to teach me how to braid it.

I had a physique that perfectly blended muscle with feminine cuteness. Strong slender arms, abs you could grate cheese with, and toned legs ending in a rather nice butt. Combining that with small hands, substantial breasts, and wide hips, I looked like some kind of short warrior woman.

Looking at my bare legs, I decided to add something to the outfit. After rummaging through Lyra's closet, I pulled out a pair of knee-high adventuring boots and long socks. Quickly putting them on, I step back in front of the mirror.

As I examined myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but smile. The loose-fitting shirt draped over my frame, ending just below the waistband of my pleated black skirt. The skirt reached just below my knees, and I had paired it with a pair of tall adventuring boots. The outfit was simple, but I thought it looked nice.

Finally, I looked at my face. I thought it looked quite cute. More important, though, was that I didn't feel the wrongness. I don't know how long it lasted, but I just watched myself in the mirror for some time.

After a while, my trance was interrupted by a loud cough behind me. Spinning around, I saw Lyra smiling at me in the doorway. As I came to a stop, the skirt swished pleasantly around my legs. I would have to look into that more later.

"you were taking a while, so I came back to check if you were alright." Lyra gave me a soft look as she spoke.

"Sorry, I got a bit distracted looking at myself in the mirror." I told her, a small smile on my face.

Giving me an amused smile, Lyra replied, "It's alright. I sent messages to Asra and Lady Sophia. They're on their way here and should be here in about an hour. We can wait for them in the living room. If you don't mind, While we're waiting, I'd like it if we could talk about what happened."

"Alright, let's go out into the living room. I'll tell you what I remember, but maybe you could please braid my hair while we talk?" I asked nervously.

Lyra giggled softly before she spoke. "Sure, I'll braid your hair. You look cute, by the way." Her words left me stunned.

By the time I had recovered, she was gone. Walking into the living room, I saw Lyra standing behind a chair next to the window. I took a seat in that chair.

Lyra's hands got to work in my hair, and I told her what happened last night. About picturing myself as a girl, about how that had changed to the body I had now, the sword I saw in the hellfire. I told her about the bowls and how I decided to pour all the water into the second bowl.

" Vayla screamed, and then I woke up. Is she okay? She ran off and locked me in the workshop before I could say anything. I hope she's doing alright. It couldn't have been easy being the one to find that." as I finished explaining what happened before Lyra's arrival, she let out a loud, exasperated sigh.

"Vayla's out picking up her necklace. She didn't want to be here until after we figured everything out." she sounded tired. "you were in there quite a while with the body. Are you doing okay?"

"Um, I think so. It was weird. I know it's my body in there, but when I looked at it, it didn't feel like it was my body." I told her.

"Hmm, alright, I trust you. I can feel the same link I felt before. Can I call you mom now?" she asked teasingly.

I didn't know how to answer that question. I felt conflicted. I had the body of a woman now, but I was still a man on the inside, right? I could use potions or something to change back, but I felt sick just thinking about trying that. So I guess I'll stay like this for now, which means I also had my answer. "Ok."

"No matter what happens from here on out, my sisters and I won't let anything happen to you. Even if we can't get any help from the princess." Lyra said as she finished braiding my hair. "I love you, mom."

I could feel tears forming in my eyes. Before I could say anything back, there was a frantic knocking at the door. Lyra opened the door, letting in a panicked Asra.

Asra was bent over, panting heavily. It seemed like she might have run the entire way here.

After catching her breath, Asra looked at Lyra and asked," Are you ok? Are they ok? Have you spoken to them much? Are they acting differently? Where are they? Are they still..."

Lyra put one of her hands over Asra's mouth, silencing her. Using the other hand, she pointed at me. Asra's eyes widened as I gave her a small wave and a nervous smile.

Without saying anything, Asra starts walking toward me. The closer she got, the more nervous and fidgety I became. "Hi, Asr---" As I started speaking, she grabbed my head in both hands.

Asra looked me directly in the eyes as she spoke in a scarily calm voice. "Lyra told me you're using a different name now. so September, tell me, are you still the smith I grew up with, or has some demon taken their place."

"I don't think I'm someone else. I feel like I'm the same person. I definitely don't feel like a demon." I said quickly.

"Okay, Lyra told me she can feel the connection your souls have. So, I'll believe you. I just wanted you to say it to my face."She said, giving me a gentle smile.

Letting go of my face, she reached down and picked me up. Sitting in the chair, she placed me on her lap, facing outward. Wrapping her arm tightly around my waist. Lyra smiled at us from across the room.

Asra rested her chin on top of my head. "You're quite cute, you know."

All my thoughts stopped. It felt nice when Lyra called me cute, but nothing like this. My face felt warm, and I had a strange feeling in my stomach. Why was I having this kind of reaction to Asra calling me cute?

gNatonthewall Hello everyone.  Earlier this week, @Disgruntled_Iguana sent me a watercolor of September, and I wanted to share it with the rest of you. The next chapter should be closer in length to Chapter 6. I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and have a nice day.
