Chapter 101 : Long Time No See

Fer-san prepared another chair and put it down on the opposite side of my chair all the while Chris-san was dragging Jude-san, who was still sobbing and sniffling. Chris-san then unceremoniously put the crying Jude-san on the vacant chair.
After Jude-san and I had taken our seat, Chris-san, Sig-san and Fer-san stood behind me, as if they were giving a silent warning to others. The spectators had left the ground after the match had ended. They were satisfied with the fierce battle between the magical beasts despite the match ending with Jude-san throwing a hissy fit.
Well to be fair… Everyone was there for the magical beast after all and Jude-san’s green bird magical beast had been using wind magic all the time so the match was pretty flashy…
“Ah… Can I leave this guy to you? I’m sure he will stop crying in a bit.”
“Oh, yes. Hugo-san, you can return to work with ease.”
“Sorry about my incompetent son… I’ll leave him in your care then.”
Hugo-san said that while scratching his head in an attempt to mask his awkward feeling. Seeing him apologizing for his son like that, I agreed to look after Jude-san.

The green bird beast and the skeleton beast were hovering worriedly around Jude-san and as time went on, Jude-san seemed to be crying less and less.
『Master! The green one is Corvo and the boney one is Carcassa. I kept calling him Greeny so I didn’t know his name before.』

Altair, who was perching on my shoulder, told me the name of the two magical beasts that I hadn’t known.

And he was so light you couldn’t even feel his weight at all. My cheeks started to loosen involuntarily and Spica, realizing I was grinning to myself because of Shèvre, returned to his small size and rubbed his body on my ankle, trying to gain my favour back.

I wanted to keep holding onto Shèvre but Spica looked lonely like that so I decided to wake Shèvre up. As soon as I used [Release], Shèvre woke up with a jerk and started to move restlessly. Not knowing what had happened to him, Shèvre was scurrying around but since he was so thickly wrapped in a bundle of fluffy fur, I couldn’t even know where he was looking at since I couldn’t discern where his eyes were. Altair, who was resting on my shoulder, grew irritated at Shèvre and chided at him.
“Look, your Master is over there. Spica, come here. I will hold you, okay?”
I lightly tapped at Shèvre and he began to float toward Jude-san.
『Humph! This is my spot!』
Shèvre was floating slowly and after he was near Jude-san, he plopped on top of Jude-san’s head. He really liked Jude-san a lot, huh. After I saw Shèvre safely returned to Jude-san, I crouched down to pick Spica up and held him in my arms.
“So… Have you calmed down?”
“Haah… Sorry. I don’t do well when my emotions get the best of me…”

I gently called out to Jude-san, who had stopped crying. He sighed calmly, as if he hadn’t been throwing a tantrum just a moment ago.

There was no shade in this training ground and as I feared, the sun was pretty hot today. I was sweating from the heat when Chris-san brought a parasol out of nowhere and he took me under his shade. Yes. Only me. Jude-san was still exposed to the sun in its full glory. Then not long after that, Fer-san went into the guild to get me a glass of cold drink. Yes, Fer-san only brought a glass for me.
I knew full well that Sig-san hated Jude-san but I didn’t know that both Fer-san and Chris-san also didn’t look at Jude-san favourably either….
“Oho~ So Altair-kun and my Corvo have known each other for a long time? Are you two close?”

Jude-san had asked a lot of questions but he looked like he was still far from being satisfied. Right now he was asking about the relationship between Altair and Corvo. Although I couldn’t understand Corvo’s words, it was clear to see Corvo was denying that assumption with all his might. Why, both of his twin heads were shaking from the left to the right vehemently at the same time.

I had been listening to their conversation and couldn’t help but to wonder that they were still in the early stage? I thought the normal gestation period was about 9 months. Right? Things like childbirth and pregnancy was a completely alien concept for me since I was still a student so I wasn’t really sure either but I think I should be right on the money.
Ah but this was another world after all. It wouldn’t be strange if the gestation period in this world was different from Earth. I knew for sure I’d be the one who gave birth in the future so maybe I should try to get more information about it.
“Umm, Marcel-san! I hope you will give birth to a healthy baby and please give me a chance to hold the baby after the baby is born!”

We talked for a while and we separated after I finally got the chance to stroke Marcel-san’s still flat stomach.

A bird magical beast belonging to Jude. A green, double-headed bird that looked like a big crow. He can use wind magic.
Name: Shèvre
A cotton ball magical beast belonging to Jude. At first glance, he looked like cotton candy but beneath those fur, he’s actually a sheep magical beast. He has yellow fur. He had almost no attack ability. A support type that could use [Paralyze] and [Sleep].
Name : Randolph 《Randy》
Height: 210cm
Age : 43 years
The owner slash bartender of Nuxe Bar. Marcel’s spouse. He’s a calm, refined old man with glasses and a well-groomed beard.
