DX entered into the room in the basement and the first thing he saw was Shangguan Xing's unconscious body lying in the middle of the blood.

A pile of human meat and bones were placed neatly on the floor.

The guards who were used to the gore was tasked with the responsibility of keeping him alive by transfusing the blood that they had prepared beforehand, and when DX entered, they were sewing up the stump where the man's arm used to be.

When they saw DX, they did not say anything but merely nudged their chin at the direction of their boss while they continued their work.

DX turned and saw Callum standing at the corner of the room with his eyes closed.

The gas mask that he was wearing was left on the floor while the hunting knife was still in his hand.

'Drip... Drip... Drip...'

DX glanced down at the blood that trickled down from the knife.

The blood on the knife was enough to form a small pool on the floor.

Even though the stench of iron was strong enough to be nauseating, DX did not leave immediately.

Instead, he walked towards Callum quietly and when he was right in front of him, he commanded, "Give me the knife now."

As soon as he heard the voice, Callum opened his eyes.

The first thing DX noticed was the dilation of the pupils and the bloodthirsty gaze in his eyes.

It had been a while since DX saw the familiar gaze.

Callum appeared to be in a daze and so, DX repeated his words again in a louder voice, "Give me the knife, NOW!"

He watched as Callum slowly lifted the knife with the sharp end pointed towards himself.

A normal man would have shown some hesitation but DX stood firm on the ground as he stared into Callum's eyes.

If he showed any weakness or hesitation, with the state Callum was in, one of them would definitely be injured.

Callum glared at the man in front of him. He had trouble recognizing the face but the stern voice reminded him of someone dear to him.

When the arrogant voice demanded again, he felt as if he had no choice but to slowly lifted the knife and handed it over.

DX took the knife and threw it aside before catching Callum who had lost his consciousness.

Like a rucksack, he tossed the man over his shoulder and strode out of the room.

Right before he left the room, he turned to the guards, "Send him back to his family once his condition is stable. Make sure that it will not be traced back to us. Then clean up this room and burn everything down."

The guards saluted, "Yes, sir!"

DX carried Callum back to the living room and gently placed him down on the couch.

"Is President Shenlong alright?" Han Ye asked while bringing over some clean towels.

DX took one of the towels and slowly wiped the blood of Callum's face, "He would be fine after some rest. Have you brought the clothes?"

"Yes, sir. I will go pick it up now."

"Fill up the bath first."

"Yes, sir." Han Ye placed the towels down on the coffee table before running towards the bathroom.

As DX gently wiped Callum's blood soaked hands, he had a flashback to 20 years ago.

...

Callum's father had passed away quietly and by the time Du Jin found out about it, he was already placed in an orphanage.

DX had followed his father and flew to the orphanage in Ireland to pick up the young orphan and when he arrived, he saw Callum standing over five older boys who were all badly beaten up and some of them were bleeding profusely.

When the caretaker ran out and saw the scene, she was so shocked that she fainted right on the spot.

It was a mess. The kids were screaming non-stop and the Du Family's guards had to step in and sent all of them back into the orphanage.

When Du Jin walked towards the boy, DX tried to stop him but his father gently removed his son's grip on his arm before saying, "It would be fine."

He watched on as Du Jin walked towards the boy and he was worried for his father's safety because the boy was holding a stone that was dripping with blood in his hand.

It was obvious that the boy was not well mentally.

"Xiao Xun." Du Jin said sternly, "That is enough."

Young Callum turned over when he heard the familiar name. His late father used to call him like that.

As he watched the interaction between those two, DX noted that the child had a murderous gaze in his eyes that should not belong to a 10-year-old.
