Card Disciple – Chapter 22: Hooligans have great strength too! (1)

This was the voice that entered his ear that sunny day on the grass fields of Dong Wei Institute. It was this voice that helped him clear up his problems regarding producing one-star Magic Cards. Though the instruction from the mysterious card was more profound and detailed, Chen Mu still remembered this voice clearly.

His gaze turned towards that direction.

Aragorn’s bunch of people grouped up, looking towards Man Siying with ill intent.

By now, the classroom only had a few people left.

Thus at this time, someone beside Aragorn noticed Zuo Tingyi and Hong Tao sitting in the back row, had a change of expression and quickly tugged at Aragorn.

Having seen Zuo Tingyi, Aragorn was also alarmed. Ever since he entered university, he had long heard of Zuo Tingyi’s reputation and hence tried avoiding directly confronting him. Who knew they would still end up meeting up.

Pah. The crisp sound of a book snapping close rang out.

Zuo Tingyi stood up and expressionlessly said, “I am Zuo Tingyi from the disciplinary committee. Your behavior has violated school regulations Articles 17, 42, and 142. You are also in violation of Articles 1, 9 and 32 of “Dong Wei Institute Provisional Regulations” released three days ago. The situation is serious, please come with me to the disciplinary committee.”

Everyone’s expression couldn’t help but change. Zuo Tingyi’s had a fierce reputation in Dong Wei Institute.

Aragorn face also looked somewhat unsightly, but deterred by Zuo Tingyi’s notoriety, politely said, “Brother Zuo, let’s not be like this. Everyone can go their separate ways, no need to be so serious right?”

Zuo Tingyi ignored him and deadpanned, “Less nonsense, just come take a trip with me to the disciplinary committee.”

At Chen Mu’s side, Lei Zi pulled at his clothes and gave him a look, hinting to leave. The two of them had seen such scenes many times before and knew it was safer to be further away. They couldn’t afford to get mixed up in these muddy waters. In Lei Zi’s eyes, both sides didn’t seem like good people anyway.

But Chen Mu was just like a block of wood and didn’t move – this greatly surprised Lei Zi. What kind of wrong medicine did this fellow eat today? As for as he knew, Chen Mu wasn’t someone full of chivalry. If someone had their childhood and were still full of chivalry, then in Lei Zi’s view, they were either fools or wildly ambitious. But Chen Mu and he were not. Thus, Chen Mu’s uncharacteristic stillness confused him.  However, since Chen Mu didn’t retreat, Lei Zi also stayed put. This didn’t need pondering to decide; both of them would do the same thing.

Aragorn’s expression was now very unsightly. He didn’t expect that Zuo Tingyi wouldn’t even give him this amount of face. It was also clear that Zuo Tingyi had come for him specifically. Aragorn was used to getting his way at school, speaking like this to Zuo Tingyi was already giving him a lot of face.

“So this means, Student Zuo doesn’t intend to give me this amount of face?” Aragorn’s expression turned sullen and his tone also turned cold. As he said these words, his group of hanger-on’s also stood up with unfriendly expressions.

“Yo, looks like there are still some people who aren’t afraid of death these days.” Hong Tao slowly stood up and taunted. His left hand casually stroked the device on his right wrist. Not forgetting to laugh at Zuo Tingyi a little, he said, “I say, Tingyi, they simply aren’t giving you any face. You’re such a failure nowadays?”

Hong Tao was also a celebrity at school. Of course, his reputation couldn’t be compared to a freak like Zuo Tingyi. His reputation was based off his strength – as a top figure of Dong Wei Institute’s Faculty of Card Refiners, his strength was unfathomable. It’s said that he was already compared to some professional Card Refiners.

Now it seems like his reputation isn’t false.

A Card Refiner beside Aragorn saw the position of Hong Tao’s left hand and also turned grim. This guy was at least thirty years old and was definitely not a student. Most likely, Aragorn’s father knew that his previous son was prone to causing troubles and thus sent someone to act as a bodyguard. This was quite common among those well-to-do sons and daughters and the school allowed it to happen.

Hong Tao lightly smiled at that Card Refiner and two tiny red dragons started dancing around his left hand’s fingers. The two dragons bodies were only a thumb wide but were clearly defined.

That Card Refiner seemed quite apprehensive of those two tiny fire dragons, as if meeting a great enemy. By his side, appeared seven green dots of light, just like seven green fireflies.

Chen Mu was actually quite curious as this would be the first time he’s seen Card Refiners actually battle. Those two dragons in Hong Tao’s hands should be a miniaturized version of his Inferno Dragon. And those dots of light beside the other Card Refiner only numbered seven, far from the meteor shower like display from the blind guy of the advertisement.

Swoosh. Hong Tao’s eye flashed and with a flick of his left hand, a tiny dragon flashed out like lightning.

So fast! The bystanding Chen Mu was unnerved. His reflexes had been trained through those calisthenics and were much faster than before. But facing this speed, he felt he definitely wouldn’t be able to dodge.

That other Card Refiner wasn’t weak either. Three dots of light fired towards the dragon, leaving trails of light that burned into Chen Mu’s retinas.

Pah! A crisp collision sound resounded in everyone’s ears. At the point of impact, the energy cancellation sent out strong shockwaves.

Chen Mu felt as if someone shoved him back and was a bit unstable. Needless to say, the others in the classroom were also shook up and teetered around.

The two fighters didn’t seem to continue and the situation stalled out like before.

Looking at this fight that he couldn’t understand, Chen Mu had a look of envy.

Aside from this confrontation, in this empty classroom, Chen Mu and Lei Zi seemed particularly eye catching.

“These two friends seem a bit unfamiliar. Which department’s experts are you two?” All of a sudden, Aragorn turned to Chen Mu and Lei Zi with a smile. Though he didn’t know the abilities of these two, in this situation, two less enemies meant better winning chances.

Chen Mu didn’t reply as if he didn’t hear anything. Lei Zi also kept his mouth closed.

Aragorn’s smile immediately disappeared. Now he was completely angry. It wasn’t strange that Zuo Tingyi and Hong Tao didn’t give him face as their reputations were there. But these two fellows… it was clear just from their attire that they didn’t have much background. Yet they still dared to act like heroes in front of him?

He gave his underling a look.
