Song Dei Si was awaken in the middle of the night by the sound coming from the man lying next to her. It wasn't that loud but it still disrupted her sleep. She tried to cover her ears with pillow so she could not hear him snoring but that didn't help. She can't get herself back to sleep. She decided to go to the kitchen to get some water as she suddenly felt thirsty. She decided to stay in there for a while and grabbed some midnight snack too. Her thoughts were pre-occupied by the man she just left in the bedroom.

"You never know how worried I was when I woke up and you weren't there. I was scared that you have just left me again."

His words earlier still linger on her mind. She never thought that it gave him so much fear when she left him 10 years ago. She thought he had already recovered from the pain she had brought him. She could still remember how bad she was on him on that Saturday rainy night.

"Let's break up" she said while they were walking at the side street from Brooks Cafe. They had their usual weekend date and were about to go home. Yan Mor Tee's car was parked 100 metres away from the cafe.

Yan Mor Tee suddenly stopped. "What did you say?"

She also stopped and said it again with conviction. " Let's break up"

"Why?" Yan Mor Tee asked her in puzzlement. "Have I done something wrong?"

She answered him "You are not my ideal boyfriend. You're a trouble-maker and.."

"I was trying to change. Haven't you noticed it? I'm trying my best to get myself out of troubles. Please don't break up with me." He said and took a grip of her hands.

She looked at him and saw that frightened look on his face. She took her gaze away from him.

"I have already decided. It is better if we break up."

"No. I don't want to. You're not the only person who can decide for this relationship. I'm not giving you up."

She tried to look back at him.

"Mor Tee don't make it hard for both of us. I want to be out of this relationship so let me be."

"Have you fallen out of love with me?" Yan Mor Tee asked her.

"No" she answered because she still does. "I haven't fell out of love with you because I haven't been inlove with you in the first place." She said instead. She knew that her words would hurt him but she said it anyway.

Yan Mor Tee couldn't believe what he has heard from Song Dei Si. "You're just saying that because you were running out of excuses to break me up. I don't believe you"

"Mor Tee please let me go." She tried to get away from his grip.

"No please. Don't leave me." He started begging and the rain has started pouring too.

"Please let me go." She started hailing for a cab and they started to get the attention of the people walking nearby. Yan Mor Tee refused to let go of her when she was about to ride the cab but she has managed to get away from his grip.

As soon as she has seated from the passerger seat and the taxi has drove off, the tears that she tried to keep from falling earlier while with him has streamed down her cheeks.

She looked at the side mirror as she saw that Yan Mor Tee didn't make any move. He stayed there from she left him off while being drenched by the rain.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" she keep on sobbing and didn't care if the taxi driver saw how devastated she was.

"That young man that we've left off, did you break up with him?" The taxi driver can't help but asked her.

She looked at the taxi driver and saw his concerned look. He was about the same age of his father.

"Uhm" she honestly answered him.

"If you are hurting this bad why did you break up with him?"

She didn't answer him and he understood. He just let her cried inside the taxi until she reached home.

.....

Song Dei Si was in tears everytime she remember what had happened that night. It was the most painful night of her life. But she had to let him go and there was no other way but out.
