Azreal didn't give them a chance to try and figure out something else, there was six of them and only Xavious on his side since Nala and the other wolf were currently playing bodyguards.

Azreal shot out heading directly for the one with the sword, it didn't take him long to cover the distance, just as he was about to grab a hold of the leader he shot out what looked like a pillar of web.
Sidestepping Azreal spun around and used his palm to cover the leading spiders face.

Before anything could happen three of the spider that were to the side jumped up, surrounding Azreal before anything could happen a glaive flew through the air impaling one of them while the other two were roasted by Azreal.
When Azreal turned around to look for the last one he saw Xavious strangling it with his body.
Still, the spider who was in Azreal's hand didn't give up the sword.
So Azreal just pulled off his back and checked if it was the real sword, once he confirmed it the spiders head was turned into a torch.
When Nala saw the sword she came over still in wolf form, Azreal pushed up the sword to her but she shook her head.
"I can't take it, you have to bring back and gift it to my father"
With a deep sigh, Azreal put the sword across his back.
Things were going horrible for him, he still hadn't found an opportunity to get a blacksmith to look at it and to tell him what it's made of, and it didn't seem like he'd get the chance.
He doubted that Nala or the wolf would allow him to do it and they're probably gonna wanna head back home immediately.
Xavious who was to the side had started to unwrap his body from the now dead spider, breathing like he was out of breath.
"We need to leave, now!"
Just as he was about to explain why he said that a voice cut him off.
"I'm afraid it's too late for that Xavious"
All of them looked to the source of the voice when they heard it, in the top of one of the far-out trees was a spider sitting down casually.
"Shit!"
Xavious retreated behind Azreal and grabbed his glaive from the body of the dead spider.
"What's happening?"
Azreal didn't take his eyes of the spider, who didn't move almost like he was waiting for Xavious to introduce him.
"These guys were just the ones sent in to grab the sword because they can move quickly and they're weak, people rarely take notice but every time they go out a guardian will always follow to protect them, he's a guardian, his name is bird"
Azreal wanted to ask how Xavious knew all of this but when Xavious finished speaking bird jumped out of the tree before he was halfway down he vanished.
Because it was so dark and Bird clearly wasn't weak it wasn't difficult to lose track of him, the moment they lost track of him the scales on Azreal's body started to rise slightly.
Boom!
Turning around they saw him with two of six arms plunged into the wolf's stomach going all the way through, on the wolf's face was a look of pure pain but no sound came out of its mouth, its eyes had completely lost all its color.
Bird's face was completely calm, his multiple eyes focusing on Nala, ripping his two fists out of the wolf's body and allowing it to fall, he started heading straight for Nala.
Azreal who stood between them started charging straight for bird, when he got in close enough he pulled out the sword and poured some energy into it.
In front of his eyes a map that didn't impair his vision formed, showing every possible location the sword could appear and he chose the one that's going straight for Birds heart.
Just as the tip of the sword came out of the portal bird jumped over it.
"Ha!"
Right as he was above Azreal head he shot out a mouthful of web down on Azreal, at first it came out small as it was exiting his mouth but it started expanding larger and larger.
Not wanting to waste any energy had to jump a few times to get out of the way.
Looking up at Bird Azreal was surprised, while Bird was in mid-air he wrapped his arms around himself forming a ball, when he touched the ground he started moving even faster than before.
Xavious had no interest in running over to where Nala was to protect her so he ran out of the way in the opposite direction of where Bird was going.
Azreal who had just spun around knew clearly that even if Nala was to put up a fight she wouldn't win.
"Nala get back!"
Hearing the shout Nala who was ready to charge ahead to meet Bird head on jumped backward and just when she did a wall of fire followed blocking Bird's path.
On the other hand once bird saw the wall of fire he unfolded himself and flicked backward in midair.
Taking advantage of the opportunity Azreal once again poured energy into the sword, this time aiming directly for Birds spine.
Since the sword coming out of the portal Bird spun around to get out of the way but in the process, he had to sacrifice an arm to escape.
"Agggggghhhhhh!!"
Both Azreal and Bird were stunned when they heard the scream since although bird had lost an arm he wasn't screaming and everyone on Azreal's side was fine, well except for the wolf.
Looking ahead where the fire had gone Azreal could see a few figures screaming in the fire, while the group was walking towards them.
"Whew quite a fire"
The leader spoke as he ripped off his shirt, a small piece of it had gotten in contact with the fire and based on what just happened to the others he didn't want it to touch his skin.
