"You can leave now" Chris told Jim then turned to Albert "Call me finance department executive", his voice sounded angry, Albert knew something was wrong but he did as instructed.
Albert came in with the excutive who was a tall and chubby man with black ponytail hairstyle wearing a dark blue suit with a light blue polo shirt on the inside. Chris gestured him to sit down, Chris then took the folder and passed it to him "Care to explain how 200million dollar worth of raw clothing material is missing?" Chris leaned back and relaxed on his swivel chair then gestured albert to leave, Albert just bowed and left.
"I don't understand what you mean boss" the man replied
"Mr. Peterson, as far as i am concerned, 500million dollars worth of raw clothing material was bought here four weeks ago, so how is 200million dollars missing?"
"Am sorry but the amount you see here was the amount we received, the finance department never make mistakes in accounting for transaction, everything is triple checked" he explained
"Yes but it can be altered by a person with enough power" chris gaze sharpened as he stared at Mr. Peterson
"I don't understand"
Chris stood up from his chair and walked over to Mr. Peterson, Chris took out a paper from the internal pocket in his suit and dropped it in front of Mr. Peterson "Maybe this will make you understand". Mr. Peterson slowly unfolded the paper and read the content, his body began to quiver and his eyes widened in disbelief. The paper was a bank statement gotten from Mr.Peterson's bank.
After the fire breakout at the Greenwood branch, Chris requested that all the branches to summit their finance report so he could see who has more supplies to sell some to the Greenwood branch. But after reading all, he noticed the France branch had only 300million dollars worth of supply written but he knows it was impossible because he himself bought the supply four weeks ago. So he sent a spy to the office to find out what happened, and a week before his travel to France, all the evidence was sent to him.
"How can an executive of a finance department of any company make 200million dollars in four weeks, huh?" Chris spoke while looking through the window with his back turned against Mr. Peterson who looked confused.
Mr. Peterson began to stammer in fear "I..I..I..I had no choice, my family needed money, my wife was dying from heart cancer and she needed a heart transplant and she is pregnant"
Chris smirked and his face darkened but he still didnt turn to look at him "Your wife died 3 years ago and she had a miscarriage before she died, the reason for her miscarriage........ I believe you know the rest"
This time Mr. Peterson felt like digging hole and hiding inside, he started to sweat "Y..ye..yes but she had the surgery so i still needed to pay the money or they were going to take my house"
"You don't have house, you gambled on it and lost, and your wife never had the surgery. Her parents gave you the money but you gambled with it and lost it too" chris's became more stern but yet he was still calm, he cant believe this man kept lying to his face.
"Mr. Peterson, where is my money?"
Mr. Peterson's shoulder dropped and his voice sounded pitiful "I lost it all"
Silence fell in the room before Chris spoke "I know" still looking outside, Mr. Peterson eyes widened in shock, Chris then continued "I wanted you to tell me yourself"
Chris took a deep breath "Am sorry to inform you, but you are fired. Leave" with a calm and stern voice that made Mr. Peterson glare at chris.
"Yes sir" he stood up with his head down walking to the door then chris spoke "Make sure to apologize to your wife" and smirked evilly, Mr. Peterson brows furrowed but he didn't think much about it then he walked out the office.
Chris took out his phone from his pocket, tapped it a bit then put it in his ears "Finish the job" without waiting for a reply, he cut the call then turned around and walked to his swivel chair. Suddenly his phone vibrated, he took it out and saw a message from sophie
{Am so bored, the house is huge but nothing fun except for Albert's garden, its so amazing, am thinking of having a picnic. Wanna join me?}
He smiled then replied { Yes, i will be there in 30min, please make some vegan sandwiches, i feel like eating greens today :) }
After a few seconds, she replied again { Sure, but be quick cuz am hungry}
He took a deep breath then walked out the office, Albert was waiting in the hallway, they both entered the elevator and left.
