61 – Review and the Future
There are two worlds that I know of. There is the Human Realm where I was born and raised, and Makai – the home of the Demons. The pathway that connects the two worlds are suddenly occurring Rifts.
Makai is full of miasma. Breathe it in too long and you become more aggressive and your body changes shape. Also, if you kill a life form in a place filled with miasma, you absorb that life form’s strength. Thanks to that, Makai is full of battle-hungry Demons who fight and kill each other all day for fun, so of course, the strong will just keep getting stronger. Those strong guys are fighting humans, plotting to turn the Human Realm into a battlefield too.
Humanity is at a disadvantage and yet, we haven’t lost. That’s because, in every era, there are Six Saviors blessed by God to protect mankind; and the Six Saviors of the current era are touted as the strongest in history.
The Sage of Magic, Alchemy.
The Saint of Healing, Marie.
The Swordmaster of the Blade, Swallow.
The Mystical Archer of Arrows, Shoots.
The Resourceful War God, Gladius.
And…
The All-Powerful Hero, Rain
For 10 years I was taught their techniques and skills by those five Saviors – each of them standing at the top of their respective fields. Thanks to that, I have never lost even a single time against an enemy. But, if I were to name an enemy that I wasn’t sure whether or not even someone like me would win against…it’s a God.
I say God, but I don’t mean that God. The Demons have a sort of rank or class system when it comes to strength. Starting from the strongest it goes ‘God’, ‘King’, ‘Duke’, and then ‘General’. A Demon named “King of ___” is stronger than a guy called “Duke of ___”.
God-class reigns at the top, but it appears that due to their rank in existence being too high, there hasn’t been a Rift where they can pass through. Once, a God-class got one hand through the Rift and the Hero of that era had to give his life in order to drive it back. That’s how dangerous of an existence they are.
It’s been confirmed that the evil Demons are plotting to summon a God-class Demon. The Demons seem to bend the knee to those with overwhelming might, and some of them form organizations.
If a God-class feels like it, it could subjugate every Demon that dwells in the Human Realm. There are some unknowns, like how they’d exert their influence, but what is known is that the Demons are on the move. Artificially opening a Rift requires mana, and in order to completely manifest a God-class, a ridiculous amount of mana is required.
For now, all we can do is prevent the enemy’s plans from coming to fruition, retrieving the sources of mana that the enemy has collected and taking out the powerful evil Demons that have a ton of mana. It is all related to hindering their plans. If they need mana, then we’ll just stop them from getting it.
It’s easy to come to that conclusion, but… because it’s so easy, the enemy probably figured as much, too. With that, they also thought of something – eliminating those who would become a hindrance.
In other words, the eradication of the Six Saviors.
Honestly, I can’t even imagine us losing; but in the Human Realm, only the Six Saviors can go toe-to-toe against a strong Demon.
However, depending on where we’re attacked, there’s a possibility that there’ll be collateral damage. Thus, even if we’re being attacked, we have to be conscious of where we are.
I left the Human Territory of the Human Realm and became a freeloader in a peaceful nation within Demon Territory; but this time I might have to work as one of the Six Saviors of mankind once again.
Once we received the report from Madge, the last of The Seven, the Demon King Army and I began taking measures.
Vivi, the Chief intelligence officer, gathers information, and Madge infiltrates to investigate and assassinate. Those preparing for battle are Eleanor, the magic swordswoman, Louto, the Magic Academy’s teacher, and Lejie, royal escort and maid. The one who will be negotiating with Humans is Florence, a woman who is so good at negotiations that she now controls all the gambling dens in the royal capital. Monana is creating the necessary Magic Tools.
I’m fully cooperating with the people I know. Of course, experts who I don’t know from various fields are also participating.
What they asked of me was to…get even stronger.
This country of Jarsti, where Eleanor and the gang live, is protected from the miasma by a barrier erected by the Demon King. However, if you took one step outside the barrier, you’d be in miasma-filled Demon Territory. In other words, if I were to defeat an evil Demon outside the barrier, even I would become stronger – just like the other Demons.
If you’re either the Hero, the Sage, or the Saint of the Six Saviors, you can operate in the miasma for long periods of time by covering yourself in mana. With that method, we three Saviors will be trying to get stronger in Demon Territory.
So long as we don’t know how strong a God-class truly is, there is nothing better to do than us getting stronger; thus we were preparing to head into battle.

The things that needed to be done were taken care of faster than expected.
First off, thanks to the War God’s foresight and laying the groundwork, he had already gotten the agreement from the Human Territory side to cooperate. Although it was necessary to work out the details of the discussion, the feat of Humans and Demons joining hands, a feat outside the realm of common sense, was easily achieved.
Florence, who had prepared all sorts of bargaining chips, was utterly taken aback.
Accompanying that, it was already decided that the Saint and the Sage were to be dispatched to Demon Territory. Under the condition that this will not damage our mission to protect humanity, we worked together to go around removing major enemy forces. When all three of us, who are part of the Six Saviors, used all our might to hunt Demons, we reduced the King, Duke, and General-class Demons by a ton.
However, Demons flow endlessly from the Rifts, and there are individuals that get stronger by killing their fellow Demons, so this won’t fundamentally solve anything. It won’t solve the Demon problem, but it’s more than enough to give results in terms of us getting stronger.
We hunted Demons faster than Vivi’s network could gather information. Furthermore, the Demon King Army’s military might against any evil Demon assaults was already flawless; so the only thing more they needed was the formation of a Special Unit.
Lastly, Monana created various Magic Tools day after day, but each creation requires an immense amount of mana. Even she can’t keep creating infinitely; she needs breaks. That said, Monana has free time.
In other words…
The Saviors of mankind and the Demons of this country are so good at their job that even in a time of crisis, there is enough time to rest.
It’s not good for the mind to be constantly preoccupied, so it’s healthy to get some rest. It’s only natural to continue to advance our plans to stop the summoning of a God-class, or defeat it at the time of summoning but… the current situation is not enough to detract us from our daily lives.
We…went on a hot spring trip.
