I’m attacking faster than the rush of the undead’s fists earlier. My main attack is with my sword, but I also use magic from time to time. This undead is currently un-enchanted and doesn’t use magic, and its only attacks are punches and kicks. So I can move at high speed using aerial footholds, which translates to “air field,” and I can hit it with attacks.
“Hah!”
“Guoo!”
After nearly 15 minutes of continuous attacks, I was finally able to cut off one of the undead’s arm. Besides the severed arm, there are deep wounds all over its body, so the arm won’t regrow anytime soon.
If I keep going at my current pace, I will win because the speed at which I wound it is faster than the speed at which it regenerates. However, I will not let my guard down. I have always been in danger of letting my guard down when I thought I could win. The most likely thing that the undead would do is indiscriminate, wide-range attack involving itself as well. At the first sign of it, I’m going to use my Zeal-spiritualization ability to turn into lightning and then distance myself from it. It’s not possible to regenerate infinitely, and there’s a limit to the amount of magic power available. There’s no problem if it will only have to be repeated again.
“Damn…”
The undead clicked its tongue, then covered its head with its arms and stopped moving. I kept my eyes on it with my high-speed magic sensing, but didn’t let up on my attack.
After five minutes, I was able to cut off one arm, and after another ten minutes, I was able to cut off another arm. The fact that it is hiding his head is like saying that there is some inconvenience, if not death, if its head is dropped. It only had one arm left, and it could no longer hide all of its head.
“Huh?”
As I was launching several attacks to drop the head, my crisis high-speed sensing suddenly reacted. I immediately jumped up into the air.
“You hurt me a lot.”
“Nah!”
As I repeatedly jumped to the next air field before it disappeared in the sky above me, the undead looked up at me and smiled eerily. It would have been better if it was just an eerie smile…
“You want a fight in the sky? Good!”
The undead said and flew through the air with the wings on its back. It also had a scorpion-like tail and a serpent-like arm that grew out from behind its shoulder. There were numerous other minor changes, such as beast-like legs.
“I’m glad you left the corpses here.”
“Ah…”
I left the corpses of the Gryphon demon and the Manticore demon here and went to Carina. I thought it wouldn’t be a problem if I left them here…. Certainly there were no corpses when I came here….
“Corpses…”
“Let me introduce myself once again. I am Emperor Lich, King of the Undead.”
“Emperor Lich…!”
Emperor Lich is an S+ ranked monster. Emperor Lich, like the ordinary undead, has a high magic resistance and is good at magic. However, in exchange for its high magic resistance, its also known for its low physical resistance. Emperor Lich is S+ ranked because of its low physical resistance, but its other specs are probably SS rank.
“I was looking around for ways to somehow increase my physical resistance. And after a few years, I figured out that if my physical resistance was so low, I could just take over a body from a corpse with a high physical resistance.”

“I had a hard time coming up with that. I also discovered that taking a body part from a corpse like this was a part of that struggle.”
This guy is not a normal Emperor Lich from before. It’s true that the higher the rank of a monster, the more intelligent it becomes. However, no monster would understand its own weaknesses and even try to overcome them. Maybe this guy was originally a demon, but he doesn’t even know it.
Thinking about it, this guy now has taken over bodies, acquired physical resistance and absorbed the demons that were originally A- or S-rank. This Emperor Lich would surely be able to compete with SS-ranked demons in terms of ability.
“The only concern I had when I took over the body was that my magic resistance would be lowered, but I’m relieved to see that my magic resistance hasn’t been lowered.”
I noticed another strange discomfort. Was this guy able to talk for such a long time? And was he the type to talk for such a long time? It was as if his personality had changed since his appearance had changed.
“It was that ghoul demon that had been controlling my body until now. It took me a long time to take over my body again because I had to reconstruct the ashes of the corpse.”
It was as if he had read my mind and answered something that had been bothering me. He had been that strong before, but did that mean he wasn’t at his best yet?
“What I’m struggling with the most right now is whether I should absorb you into my body or manipulate you and turn you into a soldier. It’s hard to throw out either one…”
Emperor Lich is even talking on his own about things i didn’t ask. In truth, it would be better to attack now, but there seems to be no gap. If i rush in now, i don’t even know what It might do, so it would be easy to kill me.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I’ve been talking to myself for so long. It’s been decades since I’ve had a conversation with someone. By the way, I’m thinking of using your corpse as a soldier if it’s intact, and absorbing you if you’re misshapen. Okay, let’s go.”
Emperor Lich waved his arm to the side as he said this. Then, right beside me, countless black spears came at me at breakneck speed. I panicked, but managed to avoid them with lightning shrink.
