Chapter 30: Rescue
“Fengchi?”
Hearing him, everyone was startled and the director who was still at the scene couldn’t help but ask: “Are you serious?”
Jiang Fengchi nodded and looked at Lin Xiaoxiao.
“I am your mentor and I also demonstrated this song for you during practice. It is not a problem for me, you can just perform according to your training and leave the rest to me.”
Fortunately, this first public performance’s repertoire had included many different styles, not just girl group dances. The song selected by Ruan Tao had been adapted from a solo single of a popular male idol; its difficulty had been reduced and the music rearranged for the girls but it also meant the style was more powerful than normal, allowing Jiang Fengchi to stand in as the C position.
Lin Xiaoxiao covered her mouth and slightly lowered her head; she did not want too many people to see her cry again. She then heard Jiang Fengchi continue: “You remember your lyrics and moves. I will cooperate with you on the stage and we will complete the performance together.”
Jiang Fengchi had a naturally serious look and rarely showed mercy. During the initial rating, many contestants had complained about his severity and had been really hurt as he was the idol of many. Yet right now, his voice was much softer and his eyes were very gentle.

A second later, the shadow of a fifth sword appeared in front of the audience. The same ‘whoosh’ sound was heard and the last beam of light hit Jiang Fengchi’s body.
The camera drew closed and quickly pulled away, like a glimpse of a lithe figure on a horse, riding on the ancient road beyond the Great Wall. It was full of primitive power and made people tremble all over.
Jiang Fengchi slowly walked forward and the four girls surrounded him, just like a lotus flower slowly blooming. Jiang Fengchi came to the center and with the rhythmic background music, quickly and neatly started to dance. The audience at the scene and in the live broadcast room held their breath and when they saw him, they all exclaimed:
