Chapter 51: Among the wolves, only one can lead (2)

At seven in the evening, the second public performance of officially began.

There were many guests present this time and many of their fans also poured into the live broadcast room early. Some of them didn’t particularly like girl group shows and were not necessarily happy to see their favorite artists perform with girls who had not even debuted yet. Biased, when the stage was not good enough, they were blaming the contestants in the comments at the end.

[I’m really not convinced, their strength is so low!]

[I’m so distressed for my brother! He had to play with these baby chicks on stage!]

[They’re polluting my eyes and ears.]

Many of the guests were very popular and their fans were extremely powerful. Before it was even their turn, they had already convinced the rest of the viewers to quickly boo the girls. Everybody was urging the players to step down and stop wasting their time.

“What’s wrong?”

Qiao Dai’s team was making final preparations backstage. As soon as they looked up, they saw several girls walking back with their heads hanging down, and as soon as they came in, one of them started sobbing immediately. Her teammates tried to comfort her but their expressions were also pretty bad.

Qiao Dai asked in a low voice filled with worry. Lin Xiaoxiao put her phone down and shook her head angrily: “Are He Jing’s fans mad? It’s obvious he was the one dancing wrong, it’s so irritating!”

Shi Qing glanced at the girls from He Jing’s group and explained to Qiao Dai with some sympathy: “They’re from the same agency as He Jing and their company is known to blood-suck female artists. I heard they forced He Jing in their group so he would gather some heat on our show.”

When it came to this, the other contestants couldn’t help but shake their heads. The path of survival for female artists in the entertainment industry was getting narrower and many agencies would use them to boost their male celebrities instead.

For example, a female star who had become popular with her works had become a foil not long ago. Her company had arranged for her to act alongside a younger artist; she could be his mother but had to act as his lover and all the fans had been mad at her. She wanted to play against people her own age but her company wasn’t allowing it.

And He Jing’s company was just like that. They cultivated their male artists and the women were simply used as popularity boosts for them. If a woman was getting popular, her fame would be used to hype up men and in the end, the very capable ones were ignored by the company after a while. Even if they wanted to leave, they would be tied up by an unfair contract and ridiculous indemnities and wouldn’t be able to quit before all their blood was sucked.

This was a notoriously black-hearted company in the circle.

Everyone was now comforting the crying girls when they heard someone exclaim: “What the hell! He Jing really dares, he is now playing on Weibo!”

The contestants all hurried to check what was happening and discovered he was liking negative posts from his fans. He was also laughing at all the messages that made fun of the girls’ strength.

[Everyone knows the level of the players now.]

[Sirius will also fall, I want to see how many companies will suffer at the end.]

Affected by the previous performance, the barrage of comments had become very mocking and mean. Fans of the girls couldn’t help but be a little worried and were afraid for the next contestants who would be scolded next.

The mood in the live broadcast room was always easily affected by the comments. If the majority was arguing and complaining, the rest of the audience would be biased; this was definitely not good for the next team.

But if everyone was also eagerly waiting, the pressure would also naturally soar. And now, people had started to waver and weren’t sure whether Qiao Dai’s team could restore the good atmosphere. Nobody was very optimistic and it was clear as day in the barrage.

But at this moment, the host announced the next performance, and the lights on the stage instantly dimmed. Trembling shadows of trees appeared on the giant LED screen and the sound of wind whistling started. The whole scene gradually outlines a wasteland in the audience’s mind.

There was the sound of running and everyone instinctively held their breath. The lights came on and Qiao Dai’s team appeared on an incline in the back of the stage. They slid all the way to the front, landed with force, put their hands on the floor, and arched their backs. A second after, a fierce howl resonated in the air.

The audience realized where the unprecedented sense of oppression came from.

The wind, the vibrations, the howls…

Lang Xing and Qiao Dai stood up like two imposing leaders from different tribes before they looked at each other vigilantly.

There was no doubt the audience was now watching two packs of wolves and two alphas. And among them, only one could lead.

It was killed or be killed.
