“You remember?” Ming Siyan leapt to his feet, eyes wide and face brimming with shock. “Nannan, does that mean you remember me?”

Xia Wennan immediately said, “Sorry, I don’t remember you yet.”

The corners of Ming Siyan’s lips wilted slightly, but he turned to look at Ming Luchuan soon after.

At this time, Ming Luchuan was also staring at Xia Wennan.

Xia Wennan was originally spewing nonsense, but because he hadn’t given Ming Luchuan a heads up, he planned to calm Ming Luchuan down first. “I remember a little about you, don’t worry.”

MIng Luchuan said, “I’m not worried.”

Ming Qin didn’t seem to care whether or not Xia Wennan had regained his memories, only repeating the three syllables of Yin Zejing’s name.

Xia Wennan nodded.

However, Ming Qin appeared calmer than Xia Wennan would imagine. “It shouldn’t be Yin Zejing,” he said.

Xia Wennan was genuinely somewhat shocked. “Dad?” he looked at Ming Qin. “Do you love him that much?”

Ming Qin lowered his gaze and slowly turned the ring on his left hand. Moments later, he suddenly sneered, “I’ve never put any confidential company documents within Yin Zejing’s reach, and when he interned at Ming Yan, I also told Luchuan not to appoint him to any of our key departments. So, unless you all failed to keep your work under wraps, there should be no reason for him to be able to access confidential data.”

At this time, Ming Luchuan said, “He can’t access them.”

Yet Xia Wennan was more concerned about another issue. “You know who he is—why are you so guarded against him?” Xia Wennan asked.

Ming Qin’s tone was level. “It doesn’t matter who he is. You shouldn’t conflate work with personal matters from the get go. Wennan, you remember that too.”

Xia Wennan was momentarily speechless.

Right then, Ming Siyan asked, “Then what are we going to do with Yin Zejing? Are we going to report him?” He shot a cautious look at Ming Qin.

Ming Qin said, “Don’t worry about him. I’ll take care of it.” After that, he addressed Ming Luchuan, “Have someone inform him that he won’t be needed at Ming Yan tomorrow.”

“Then, what are we going to do about Mo Ze?” Ming Siyan asked.

Ming Qin remained silent and merely looked at Ming Luchuan.

Ming Luchuan said, “There’s no indication that Mo Ze’s pheromone perfumes are related to Wennan.”

“But Wennan’s memories aren’t intact,” said Ming Siyan.

Ming Qin turned to Xia Wennan, “Hasn’t Xia Wennan remembered everything?”

Xia Wennan pinched his fingers. “Only a little, nothing more.”

“In fact, there’s a very simple solution.” Ming Qin slowly pushed his ring up to his knuckle. “Whatever the origins of Mo Ze’s perfumes are, we can stay one step ahead of them by launching Xishui Hall and taking advantage of their wonderful job of helping us out with the marketing.”

After he finished speaking, Ming Qin didn’t look at Ming Luchuan and directly looked over to Xia Wennan instead.

Xia Wennan glanced at Ming Luchuan. The man was silent, his left thumb delicately pressed against his jaw, his gaze falling on the gleaming wooden tabletop.

It was true that the current timing was decent and safe. Xia Wennan even felt that Ming Qin’s suggestion made sense. What’s more, he was aware that, inwardly, Ming Luchuan also approved of Ming Qin’s idea—it was just that he cared about Xia Wennan’s feelings more. However, in the end, Xia Wennan said, “I hope that we can wait.”

Xia Wennan had given an inch; he said “I hope” rather than “I want”. He wanted to listen to Ming Luchuan speak up and express his own opinion. After all, Xia Wennan had lost that part of his memories; he couldn’t figure out what had been going on inside his head, which made him persistent.

Ming Luchuan’s response was simple and straightforward. Upon hearing Xia Wennan’s remark, he said, “Then we wait.” Yet unlike Xia Wennan, his words left no room for negotiation.

Ming Siyan kept quiet, though he seemed unhappy.

“And what if Mo Ze really did somehow obtain Xishui Hall’s formula from us?” asked Ming Qin.

Ming Luchuan raised his head. “Mo Ze would only have Xishui Hall. We have Wennan.”

Ming Qin took a deep breath, then nodded. “All right.” After that, he rose to his feet.

Xia Wennan suddenly discovered that Ming Qin had removed the ring from his left hand. He held it in his right palm as he made his way outside, and as he reached the meeting room door, he raised his right hand slightly and tossed the ring into the trash can.

Ming Siyan also left with Ming Qin. Before leaving, he said to Xia Wennan, “Wennan, call me.”

Xia Wennan waved at him. “Hurry off.”

In the meeting room, only Xia Wennan and Ming Luchuan remained. Xia Wennan walked to the door, and when he saw that the trash can by the doorway was clean and the only item inside was a dazzling silver ring, he bent down and picked it up.

Ming Luchuan stood up, walked up to him, and when he saw Xia Wennan holding that ring, he asked, “What did you pick that up for?”

“To sell it,” Xia Wennan said, as if it was a matter of course. He lifted the ring and studied it. “Oh my, it has diamonds.”

Ming Luchuan reached out to take the ring, then gave it back to him after a brief look. “It’s fake.”

“Ming Qin wore a fake diamond ring?”

There was no one in the corridor outside when Ming Luchuan opened the door of the meeting room and stepped out. “Can you guess who gave it to him?” he said as he walked in the direction of his office.

“He took it off and threw it away—of course it was from Yin Zejing.” Xia Wennan pinched the ring in his hand, trailing behind Ming Luchuan.

“Isn’t Yin Zejing pretending to be a poor student? How could he afford to buy a real diamond ring?”

“A wealthy omega like Ming Qin wore a fake diamond ring given to him by a poor student for so long… I refuse to believe that that isn’t true love,” Xia Wennan sighed ruefully.

Ming Luchuan didn’t say a word.

Xia Wennan quickened his pace in order to catch up with Ming Luchuan and walk shoulder to shoulder with him. “Say, why do you think he’s so wary of Yin Zejing?”

Ming Luchuan said, “He’s always been a cold-blooded man.”

Xia Wennan wanted to say that he couldn’t be that bad, but at the thought of Ming Qin’s treatment of Ming Luchuan when he was a child, for a moment, he couldn’t find the words to refute him.

Upon arriving at the door of his office, Ming Luchuan came to an abrupt halt. He looked at Xia Wennan and said, “What did you remember?”

Caught off guard, Xia Wennan stiffened where he stood. “I didn’t remember anything. The stuff about Yin Zejing… It was something I asked a senior sister about.”

“Then why did you say that you remember?” Ming Luchuan frowned.

Xia Wennan said, “Because I wanted to overwhelm Ming Qin with my imposing aura.”

“…You’re ridiculous.” Ming Luchuan turned around to open the door.

Xia Wennan grabbed hold of his hand. “Wait a minute, there’s something strange going on.”

“What is it?”

Xia Wennan gave it some thought and decided that it would be better to talk once they were inside Ming Luchuan’s office. He pushed at Ming Luchuan and urged him on, “Go inside first.”

Ming Luchuan opened the door. Xia Wennan followed him in and locked the door. When he turned around, he saw that Ming Luchuan had already walked to his desk and sat down behind it.

Xia Wennan hurriedly approached him. As he leaned on Ming Luchuan’s chair, he pressed close to the man’s ear and said, “It seems that before I lost my memories… I found out about Yin Zejing’s identity.”

Ming Luchuan’s expression sharpened.

Xia Wennan immediately continued, “And then I got into that car accident.”
