In the city of Agarta, the snow that began falling the day before yesterday has continued to intensify. This year’s snowfall is unusually heavy compared to previous years, and in some areas, it’s so rare that you can see people in the city clearing snow from the roads.

Amidst this heavy snowfall, representatives of the Crimeana Church, who landed in Galby about ten days ago, have arrived in the city of Agarta. As soon as they arrived, they immediately requested an audience with King Linos.

“Greetings to King Agarta, we are honored to meet you today. I am Vielle, and by my side is Kassel, a member of our family. Though still young, our loyalty to Lady Crimeana is deeper than anyone’s. We are determined to guide this country and this world towards the righteous path. Please, remember our names,” Vielle said with an unwavering voice. Linos observed this with an expressionless face.

“Vielle, was it? You’re quite young. How old are you?” Linos inquired.

“Yes, I am fourteen years old.”

“Fourteen? Huh, you came all this way at that age. Is Kassel over there? You must be… eight years old? Impressive. Oh, and isn’t that Kohreshi over there? It’s been a while. Good to see you’re well. By the way, what brings you here today?”

“Yes, we have come to deliver a letter from our Holy Pope.”

“What? A letter from the Pope?”

Linos exchanged glances with Kunogen and Matokal who were nearby. Kunogen indicated that he hadn’t heard about it. Linos wore a suspicious expression as he received the letter and skimmed through it.

“What is this?” Linos exclaimed, then handed the Pope’s letter to Kunogen.

“We were sent to assist in turning Agarta into a paradise, as stated in the letter” Vielle said with widened eyes. Kassel whispered, “Are they heretics?” under his breath.

“No, the Demon King. Did he really do such terrible things?” Linos questioned.

“Did he really want to become the Demon King?” Vielle asked, confused.

“No, he didn’t directly harm me or anything,” Linos clarified.

Vielle chuckled gracefully. “Ah, Your Majesty Agarta! Please forgive our impudence. We have heard that you resided in the Hideita Empire for a long time. It’s understandable if you don’t know the true horrors of the Demon King. The Demon King ruled this land for a long time, creating scenes of hell with countless corpses. He took the lives of all living beings, destroyed this country, and subjected the survivors to cruel treatment, turning this world into a living hell. We must never allow such a tragedy to occur again. Only we, the devout followers of our Lady Crimeana, with her divine protection, can prevent the return of the Demon King and bring true peace to Agarta. The development of a country depends on its peace, and the well-being of its people comes first. We wish to bring this to your nation.”

Linos listened with a wry smile and eventually shook his head.

“Furthermore, we have heard that Lady Crimeana visited you in a dream and that you heard her divine voice. This is proof that you are blessed by Lady Crimeana. Therefore, it is only right for us, who serve the same Lady Crimeana, to offer our assistance. We wish to help make Agarta and this city a paradise,” Vielle continued, his eyes sparkling brightly.

Linos sighed and then asked, “What do you mean by ‘paradise’?”

“Everyone living in peace, happiness, and tranquility. That’s what constitutes a truly happy country,” Vielle replied.

“…People’s values vary greatly. The definition of happiness can differ from person to person. Can there really be such a thing as true happiness?” Linos questioned.

“Yes, there can be. If there is peace, happiness, and a tranquil life, everyone will undoubtedly be happy,” Vielle asserted.

“Hahaha… Undoubtedly, you say? I see. So, what are you going to do specifically?” Linos asked.

“Please entrust it to us. Agarta is still a developing nation, and it must continue to prosper. Our Pope and the followers of the Crimeana Church share the same vision. Believers from all over the world are already gathering in Agarta, eager to help build this nation,” Vielle explained.

“I see. But before that, should we address my question? What exactly do you intend to do in this country?” Linos pressed.

“My duty is to lead those who have been cursed onto the right path, which is to follow the Heavenly Way,” Vielle replied.

“To follow the Heavenly Way… I see,” Linos mused.

Kassel, who had been observing Linos and Vielle’s exchange, interjected, “Your Majesty Agarta, we would be most grateful if you could grant us the opportunity to work in this country. We have skilled physicians among us. Although the theory of the Beastmen being the cause of the recent epidemic has not been completely disproven, it is still a possibility. To prevent the outbreak of disease in Agarta, we are willing to do our utmost.”

He respectfully bowed.

“Well, I understand the content of our discussion now. However, you must understand that this city is already overcrowded. There may not be enough space to accommodate so many believers. When we protected the Beastmen earlier, we wanted to shelter them within the city, but it was not possible, so we established a Beastmen village outside the city. Agarta is generally an open nation, but as I mentioned, there is limited space. If you are willing to build your own dwellings outside the city, then I have no objections,” Linos explained.

Vielle and Kassel’s eyes sparkled, and Vielle immediately broke into a beaming smile.

“Your Majesty Agarta, we believed that you would surely accept us. Thank you very much,” Vielle replied.

“There’s no need for thanks. However, there is one non-negotiable rule in this country: you must not cause trouble for others. Anyone who causes trouble for others is not welcome here. I don’t think you followers of the Crimeana Church will cause any trouble, but please be mindful of this one point,” Linos warned.

“We understand. We have no intention of causing trouble. Our mission is to save people, so causing trouble is out of the question,” Vielle assured.

With a pleased expression, Vielle responded. Linos watched with a wry smile.

Vielle and the representatives of the Crimeana Church, after obtaining Linos’s approval, returned to Galby for the time being and promised to return to the city of Agarta with their followers.

“Linos-sama, are you sure about making such promises?” Matokal asked with concern.

“Don’t worry, Mat. Let’s see what they’re really made of. If things go as they plan, it might be for the best. Now, how far will they go…?” Linos mused, wearing a mischievous expression.

And with that, Vielle and the others, the envoys of Crimeana, left Linos’s presence.
