The Enemy of my Family is Unforgivable.

—————————————————–

T/N: Hey guys, I am picking up this novel as well. I have started from chapter 65 which is pretty close to the manga. I appreciate the work done so far but there were many parts that I could not understand so I translated them myself and you can read those chapters if you feel like. Hope you enjoy reading and let me know if there is something wrong or if you just have feedback. Thanks

“What happened?! What’s with your appearances!”

Rico was surprised. After defeating the three Pousehais, we teleported to the mansion in the capital, still covered in their blood. No wonder Ferris and Luala looked uneasy. I quickly cast a purification spell to clean myself up.

“Sorry, Rico, I don’t have time to explain the situation. Please take care of this girl.”

I handed Princess Considy, who had lost consciousness and was slumped over in my arms, to Ferris. Rico immediately instructed Ferris to take her to her bedroom and they all headed there together. After confirming that, I hurried to the laboratory to meet with Mei.

“Mei, I’m sorry, but could you come with me to Niza?”

“Right now?”

“Yeah, it’s an emergency.”

I informed Peyris, who was in the kitchen, that Mei might not be able to return home tonight and Mei and I teleported to Niza Forest.

“This… this is…”

Mei was at a loss for words after seeing the tragic scene of the slain Pousehai. She then looked shocked at the sight of about 40 Pousehai trapped inside the barrier. However, as expected of Mei, she quickly regained her composure.

“Mei, I’m sorry, but could you check on the condition of the Deer God?”

The Deer God was crouching and breathing heavily in pain. Mei approached it and gently patted its body with a fearful expression.

“It’s been affected by a strong poison. Even with this much magic power, it can’t cleanse the poison by itself…”

“It’s pointless. I have exceeded my limits and taken in the poison.”

“Master, doesn’t the Unicorn’s horn have the ability to make an antidote?”

“That’s right, Mei. I’ll use the golden horn I have in my infinite storage. Can’t we do something with that?”

I took out a golden horn from my infinite storage.

“T-This is a Knight Unicorn’s horn! With this, Meibe… I can’t guarantee how effective it will be, but I’ll try!”

“Sorry, but please do it.”

I immediately teleported Mei back to the mansion. The Deer God looked like it was in a lot of pain. Worried about its condition, I activated my appraisal skill.

Its HP had dropped by almost 90%, and its MP was also running low. It was in a dangerous state. Although it could last a few more days, if left untreated, it was undoubtedly going to die. I tried using Ultimate Heal on the Deer God as a last resort, but the symptoms of the poison didn’t disappear. I couldn’t understand why this magic, which even resurrects the dead, didn’t work. I should have asked Mei for more information about the symptoms beforehand.

“Gon, I’m sorry. I need to go back to the mansion to check on Mei. Can you watch over the Deer god and the Pousehai here for me? I don’t think the barrier will be broken, but if you sense any danger, please teleport away.”

“Sure thing!”

As I headed back to the mansion, everyone was gathered in the dining room.

“Is Mei in her lab?”

“Yes, she left a little while ago carrying something, so I assume so.”

“Alright.”

I made my way towards Mei but was stopped by Rico.

“Wait, Lynos.”

“What’s up, Rico?”

“I heard about the incident in the Niza Kingdom from Ferris and Luala. I understand how difficult it must have been. However, there’s one thing I’d like to ask you.”

“What is it?”

“Why did you kill the female Pousehai? It’s not like you to take a life, especially that of a woman.”

She had a point. I had always tried to avoid taking lives, whether it was of a monster or a human. I especially treated women with respect. Rico and the other women who were with me probably never expected me to be capable of killing a woman.

“That woman was the one who killed Mei’s parents.”

“What do you mean?”

“She mixed a deadly poison in the medicine Mei’s parents created, which caused the deaths of many children. Mei’s parents took the blame for it. That woman not only killed Mei’s parents, but many innocent children as well. That’s why I killed her.”

“I see. Thank you for telling me. I’m relieved to hear that. You truly are still Lynos. Ferris, Luala, is everything okay with you now?”

“Yes… Thank you, Rico-sama.”

“Thank you very much.”

“I don’t want to kill anyone, whether they’re human, monster or beastman. But anyone who harms my family will turn me into a demon.”

With those words, I hurried towards Mei’s laboratory. I should have explained more thoroughly, but I switched gears and focused on the task at hand.

“How’s it going, Mei?”

“I should be able to finish the medicine by tomorrow morning. I’m not sure how effective it will be, but this unicorn horn is truly amazing. It’s said to cure all diseases.”

“I see. If it can cure the Deer god´s poison, it should be able to cure the Dwarf King’s poison too. The problem is the Dwarf King. We don’t know how long he can hold on. Sorry, Mei, but I’m counting on you for the medicine.”

“Yes, I’ll do my best.”

I headed back to the Niza Forest, but the Deer god was nowhere to be found.

“I have my barrier set up near that large tree up ahead.”

“I see, thanks.”

As long as he stayed within the barrier, he would be safe for a while. While observing the Pousehai, who were all asleep due to their MP being drained, an idea came to mind.

Should I steal their skills while I have the chance?

No, it’s fine for now. We can decide that later.

Ignoring the question, I dug a hole in the ground and buried the three Pousehai I had killed, creating a simple grave for them. As I finished, Rico teleported in.

“I’ve brought dinner,” said Rico.

“Thank you. Where is everyone?” replied Lynos.

“I let them all rest. Only Mei is still awake,” answered Rico.

“I see,” said Lynos.

Lynos and Gon decided to eat the freshly cooked dinner brought by Rico. All the dishes were warm, which was appreciated as it was still chilly at night, even in spring.

“I informed Mei about the woman you killed,” said Rico.

“I see. Did she say anything else?” asked Lynos.

“No, she didn’t,” replied Rico.

“Thank you, Rico. It’s hard for me to bring it up myself,” said Lynos.

“It’s no problem. However, with so many problems ahead of us, such as dealing with Posehai, the deer god, the dwarf king, and the restoration of farmland, it’s going to be tough. We might end up burdening you again. I’m sorry,” Rico mentioned.

“I’ll be fine. I’m just worried about your condition. Please don’t overexert yourself. If Princess Considy wakes up, I’ll come back,” said Lynos, and Rico teleported back to the mansion.

“She’s such a great lady,” commented Lynos.

“I agree. I’m jealous,” replied Gon.

“Yes, me too,” said Lynos.

The two of them took turns keeping watch over Posehai until morning. Then, Mei arrived with a freshly made medicine.

“I’ve extracted the full healing power from the unicorn’s horn. I haven’t tested it on anyone yet, so I can’t say for certain, but…” Mei said.

“It’s alright. If it doesn’t work, we’ll think of another solution. Thank you, Mei. You’ve done well,” Lynos said, thanking her.

I stroke Mei’s head, and she bashfully lowers her gaze. We head straight to the tree where the deer god is residing, with the newly made medicine in hand. We soon find the tree.

“This is strange. I can’t see anything,” Gon says.

“With Gon’s level, it’s impossible. This entire tree is enveloped in a barrier. Deer god, please reveal yourself to these individuals and see the medicine my wife has made. We don’t know if it will work, but my wife is a skilled pharmacist with a solid reputation,” I say.

The deer god appears in front of the tree.

“I see. So you’re a young lady with a pharmacist title. That’s rare. Very well, I will try the medicine you have made,” the deer god says.

The deer god opens its mouth wide and swallows Mei’s medicine.

“Ugh, guh, gaaahhhhhhhh!” the deer god groans.

“Deer god!” I shouted.

The deer god falls to its knees, clearly in a lot of pain.

“Mei…” I say.

“…” Mei furrows her brow and watches the situation closely. The deer god vomits a murky green liquid.

At that moment a telepathic message reaches me.

“Master, where are you?”

“Is that you, Ferris?”

“Yes, it’s Ferris. Where are you?”

“I’m at the Deer god´s place. Has something happened?.”

“Princess Concedia has woken up, please return to the mansion.”

“I see. Understood.”

“Princess Concedia has woken up. I’ll return to the mansion. Gon, please continue to monitor Posehei, and Mei, please keep an eye on Deer god-sama.”

“Understood.”

Upon arriving at the mansion, Princess Concedia was trying to get up forcibly.

“Since your blood is still low, there’s no need to force yourself to get up, Princess Concedia.”

“Lord Basam! This is… embarrassing…”

“Don’t worry about it. This is my home. Please feel comfortable.”

“I… just what…. Where am I?”

“Do you remember? When I arrived, you had been impaled by a unicorn’s horn.”

“I do remember that. I have no memory of what happened afterward. What about the adventurers and the Duchy?”

“Unfortunately, all of the adventurers perished. But you can rest easy knowing that we defeated the unicorn.”

“What about Utonika? What happened to her?”

“I killed her, and Rekornai too.”

“What?! And Rekornai too? Are you intending to destroy the Duchy?”

The princess glares at me, breathing heavily with anger.

“Princess Concedia, I have already made up my mind. You must also make up your mind. In order to do so, you need to restore your body to its previous healthy state. Please rest here for a while.”

“Make up my mind… about what? And what do you mean by ‘restore my body’?”

“I will take responsibility for the restoration of the Niza Duchy. That’s why I killed Rekornai and Utonika.”

Her eyes widen, and a faint hint of murderous intent is visible in them amid her heavy breathing.
