Summer is officially here!

Yay! For the beach. Nay for dozens of people going on it.

Early on today mother came home sooner than the usual schedule.

Though the family lives together, they hardly see each other.

When she came home she brought with her a girl. No. I should describe her as a lady.

I've got no recollection of memories from the original Iris Lin so I don't recognize her.

I waited for mother to introduce her, just in case it was this body's first time seeing the person in question.

I smiled at her as she greeted me. Because there was no additional reaction from me,

both of us are standing stiffly at our places.

"Iris darling." Mother broke the strange atmosphere.

"This is Ginger Wu. You've met each other before."

Ginger...hmm, I think I may have read that name.

By the way Mother how long ago was that 'before'! Don't tell me it was years ago?

And duh?, I am an old soul not from here.

"Oh, I did not recognize. I thought it was a celebrity."

One thing I learned from my past life is to hand out some flattery left and right. I didn't dare say 'you've become beautiful' as it may be badly perceived. I walked closer to them to see her up close.

I meant no disrespect but when it comes to physical appearance, I am way ahead. Ginger looked average.

"Is that right?" Mother dearly held her face."Now that you mention it, you seemed to be more lovely these days."

"Are you seeing someone?"

Ginger's face reddened as she answered; "Aunt's joking. I am fully devoted to my career. I've got no time for that."

Her features are really common. The only thing that distinguishes her from the crowd of women is her beautiful frame of mind.

To which I can tell she cultivated through years of hard work.

"That's a shame. A successful young lady like you deserves to love and be pampered." Mother sincerely advised. They held each other's hand and intimately chatted. They sometimes add me in between their conversation, but No offense to this body, they are acting like long-lost relatives.

Apparently, Ginger works as a manager in one of the Hotels owned by our family. She came from an old orphanage in a distant province.

As philanthropists, both parents supported facilities that care for the well-being of children in the whole country. That is where they met Ginger. They met at the time where my vision's started getting blurry.

If I did not hear that backstory then I might mistake her for a relative. Maybe one of my cousins? You can't blame me for how she's acting like a family. She's even close with the maids whereas this body receives lukewarm responses. Though it is mostly limited to when my parents aren't home.

I somehow wonder if she had stayed here before.

"Just follow Bell to your room. Take a rest." Mother motioned to the maid on the side. I remember her as the impolite maid when I was familiarizing myself home.

"Let me help you with that, miss." the maid reached out her hand to her trolley. Her manner, respectful.

"Is it really okay for me?" Her eyes landed on me. She sounded faint but mother obviously heard.

"What nonsense. I'll feel reassured with you here. Don't even think about booking a room at a nearby hotel. Iris is happy to have you accompany us." Mother looked at me.

"R-right. Just feel at ease." I can't tell her to feel at home since she's already doing it.

The maid leads her to her room while mother and I talked some more. She mentioned things related to my party.

I returned to my room after eating dinner.

The moon is out, overlooking the people beneath. In this weather, I can't help but think about my life before. My parents, friends, even my pet Choco. A dog I adopted.

Will I ever go back? How can I go back?

I can't think of an answer.

I let out a long sigh then closed my windows.

I picked up the diary I've read before. Earlier, the name Ginger sounded familiar. I looked her up at the internet but only her name and occupation is written. There's nothing to read about her personal life.

Thinking back, I may have seen it and even read something about her in this body's diary.

From our conversations earlier, we first met when we were children. Since mother recalled that it was the time When my vision's started to blur, I checked the earliest entries.

'Day xx, year xxxx,

Mother and father donated a large sum in an orphanage as reported by the media. Whenever I hear they did good deeds, I am proud. My parents are awesome!

My teachers always praise them.'

'Day xx, year xxxx,

I'm home alone. My parents are invited to a thanksgiving party organized by the workers of various orphanages. I should have been happy that people adore and commend them. But I am not. I am jealous that they can spend time with my parents more than me. Am I a bad child?'

'Day xx, year xxxx,

Today, we came back from the hospital. The doctor said that he needs to adjust my glasses. I was also told that my hearing is getting worse from its already bad state.

My heart feels bad. It hurts.

'Day xx, year xxxx,

Mother brought home a child. She's a little older than me. Her name is Ginger. Mother said that she needs a place to live for a week. I am happy to have a playmate!

'Day xx, year xxxx,

My parents played with me. We went to the zoo and I fed a rabbit. They're cute!

But my mood dampened when they chatted with me after dinner. They said they are bringing Ginger home, I was initially happy. I thought that we can play with each other again...

They said, she'll be family. That she'll become my older sister....

Before, I imagined that I'll be happy if we were to have an additional member of the family but now...

I'm blind..born deaf as what the bullies called.

Don't they want me anymore? I cried then locked myself in my room.
