I tried it on myself and nothing happened. The necklace sent me a feeling that my spiritual power was pure and a purification was not needed. The analyzer confirmed that there were still 10 charges left so I gave it to Li-er
“Li-er if you activate this, it would be very good for you as a cultivator. Do you want to try?”

10 minutes later black liquid oozed from his body. I still waited, I could not do anything for him. Everyone had to pass by that and he was lucky to use an artifact that does a better job than anything else out there
After an hour the ground was full of black slime. I had to run a cleaning spell a few times to not be touched by it. I could not run the spell directly on Li-er to not affect his purification session. I was amazed by the amount of impurities in a small body.
When there was nothing coming out anymore, I checked him and found him asleep. I ran the cleaning spell multiple times to completely clean him. Then I took a brush to gently smooth his hair. In front of me was a cute sleeping little kid. I waited for him to wake up.
Before, I could only watch him when he was in pain. Now that he was fine, I decided to take a look at the books. I opened the diary first.
This monk - at least I hope it was his diary - was not only a monk but also a level 8 array master. He found the array books in a secret realm; the books were for ancient level 1 to level 12 arrays! He could only reach level 8 before his death. It seems he was protecting the purifying artifact that some sects - I never heard of - tried to steal.
He got hurt in the process which led to his death not long after. His last wish was for the artifact to never reach that sect’s hand. They had destroyed his temple and killed everyone there.
As a monk, setting an array with the no animal killer rule was understandable. No one from an evil sect could come in to take the divine artifact. The good news was that, based on the analyzer, he died about two thousand years ago so those who tried to steal the artifact should not be around anymore - I hoped -
Either way, I would have to find a way to hide its level and function. This would make Li-er safer.
I took a look at the book that explained the 3D arrays. The one at the entrance of this small cave was a level 7 not 8 based on the analyzer and the function was the same as the 2D one but it was much stronger even if the other was a higher level. This made the geeky part of me read the array books right away. I started with level 1 and found that these books were much more complex and deeper than what master Kui gave me. This time, I did not understand everything right away so I had to reread and ponder some details longer than usual. Thus making my reading slow down.
I was in the zone when Li-er woke up hours later. We had snacks as a meal then I used a mirror to show him how he was when clean and kept. I also gave him my old clothes that I used at 5 years old which fitted perfectly and helped him tie his hair into a high ponytail. The wild little child turned into a wealthy and cute one thanks to that!
I warned him to never tell anyone about the necklace’s function just like the stealth stone. I told him about the monk diary, explained to him the necklace settings and he hid it inside the clothes. I also gave him the monk’s pouch after I cleaned it. As he was the one taking the monk’s artifacts, the diary should go to him

“Just use it in the open and hide your mother’s” After I cleaned his mother’s pouch I saw it was pink so I wanted to protect him from future humiliations as a boy
“Mmm. I have to give it back when we find mum anyway” said Li-er. I felt a heart pinch. I forced a smile and left it at that
I had stayed away for too long, it was time to meet everyone else. Li-er told me that I slept for a night and a day. I woke up basically at night, this was the reason he slept so long after the purification.
It was dawn when we exited the cave area. We walked for a bit and stopped halfway from the Siren plan area. I used a red flare to signal my presence then we waited.
It did not take long for uncle Huai to come. He stopped for a second to look at me before hugging me without a word. Li-er thought he was hurting me and he attacked him “Stop! Don’t hurt Shin-ge. Bad man. Bad man!” I wanted to laugh but could not.
“Li-er don’t worry he is just hugging me” For the first time I thought inwardly “He is not hurting me. This is uncle Huai. Uncle Huai this is Li-er, 7 years old”
