"It'll sting a little bit but bear with it ok?" Hei Mingchen told her. Shen Tianyu nodded and turned her head back to not tire her neck out. Hei Mingchen started to gently wipe her wounds with the alcohol-soaked cloth but Shen Tianyu didn't so much as twitch an eyebrow. Her pain receptors had long become dull to this kind of minor pain. It certainly stung a little bit but not enough for her senses to get excited over. More than that, the coldness of being without her clothes in the middle of winter in an almost empty room with plenty of windows for wind to flow through bothered her more.

Shen Tianyu was in her own world for a ewhile by the time she heard Hei Mingchen call out to her. She turned her head to look back and felt some things wrapping around her body. "You're all bandaged up now." Hei Mingchen tried to sound cheerful but it was obvious the scars on Shen Tianyu made her, a Medical Division student and an inner disciple who should have seen many injuries, bothered.

Shen Tianyu just gave a lighthearted smile. "Thank you, Senior Sister Hei." And turned around to put her zhongyi and outer robe back on. When she was all tidied up, though some parts of her clothes were cut or torn, she thanked Hei Mingchen again and left the Medical Office. Walking the way she came in the morning, Shen Tianyu reached the front gate in no time. The doors were now closed, though they were still guarded with cultivators standing on each side of the door. Just like in the morning, one of them stepped toward her when they saw her coming.

"Your number plaque and name." He said simply as he reached out a hand to her. The other guard standing by the door had taken out a blank book and a stick of cinnabar.

Shen Tianyu reached into her lapels and pulled out her number plaque. "Shen Tianyu." She responded simply as she handed over the plaque. "Shen of diety and Tian of sky, and yu for desire."

The guard standing closer to the door wrote down her name and the first guard took her plaque, bringing it over to the other one. When he finished writing down her number, the first guard turned to her as the second one put away his materials and stored her plaque in a Cosmos pouch at his side. "Please follow me to pick up your belongings."

Shen Tianyu nodded and followed him to a nearby storeroom. The guard opened the door and told her to stay where she was. He then entered the big room and searched through the tags and bags placed within. There were so many that they covered the whole stone floor, leaving not a trace of hard stone to be seen. The School tied tags around an applicants' belongings with their name on them when they took it from them so that they could more easily get them back once the exam was done. However, the applicants themselves were not allowed to go in to search for their belongings for fear of the young people stealing each other's things, either for greed or vengeance. After all, a few of them were rich enough to afford a Cosmos bag. And some objects were small enough to hide inside a decent-sized bag. Therefore, they were supposed to wait outside as a guard looked for their belongings with the tag of their name. The guard returned holding a single red Cosmos bag embroidered with a simple golden cloud and tied with two lilca colored lucky knots. She had kept her Cosmos bag within her sleeves since it clashed with the color pallette of her outfit and had handed it over to the officer in charge of her registration along with her lucky knots because she didn't want to accidentally get them dirty. The guard handed the bag over to her and she accepted it before hesitantly asking. "Um. My Identification Plaque..."

"It's in there, check inside if you need to." The guard responded as he stood with his hands crossed behind his bag, waiting for her to check.

She opened her Cosmos Bag and rummaged through it, hitting something flat and wooden. Taking it out, it was indeed her Indetification Plaque. Relieved, she put it back and untied the lucky knots, attaching them to the fastener at her waist again. "Thank you very much." She expressed her gratitude and the guard nodded. He turned to close the storehouse and locked the door again. He then led her back to the entrance of the School, where they were greeted by the lone guard that had recorded Shen Tianyu's name.

"You're free to go now. We wish for your good news and success in your future endeavors." The second guard told her as the first one got back into his position.

She nodded in thanks and walked up to the door, pulling it open and stepping over the threshold back into the regular streets. "Ah... it feels good to be back after all of that work." She closed the door behind her and stretched her body, surveying the surroundings. She managed to notice a plainly-dressed man staring at her. His gaze was not one of desire nor hostility, but one of respect, curiosity and slight fear. She walked over to him once she finished stretching and spoke to him. "Are you the one Rong Jian ordered to keep guard here?"

The man straightened up and saluted her, startling some of the other passerbys. "Yes, Wangfei! I Will go back and inform Wangye immediately that you are done."

"Wait. Show me your pass first." She crossed her amrs and cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Yes!" He complied and pulled out a pass from his sleeve. It was a polished piece of wood in the shape of a long pentagon painted with a five-fingered dragon claw with a red string tied to a hole at the top.

"Hm. You are indeed with the Wangfu." She confirmed after glancing at it. "You may go then."

"This servant humbly dissmisses himself." He bowed with both fists and walked away. Only when he was far enough away that the wind from his leaping wouldn't bother her, did he jump onto a tiled roof and disappeared from sight.

Shen Tianyu shrugged off the looks from the passerbys and went to look around the area. She didn't have time to do so in the morning and Rong Jian's carriage was so conspicuous, she would notice when it was approaching. She bought a stick of tanghulu and a bunch of ornaments from both the stalls on the streets and the stores in the surrounding area, all of which she put in her Cosmos Bag. There were lucky knots, jeweled hair accessories, rare swaths of cloth and make up materials all crammed into her Cosmo bag. Thankfully, she had moved most of her important and more fragile things into the Wind Shrine in her space. But her Cosmo Bag was still almost bursting with gifts. As the sky quickly darkened, as it was already setting by the time she came out, she heard an influx of noise. Turning in that direction, she saw a carriage bearing a five-clawed dragon making its way to the front of the Chengyuan School. She pushed through the crowd to get back to the door and made it just as the person riding inside it stepped down from the carriage.

"Ah-Jian!" She smiled as she called out to her yet to be fiancee. In return, he turned to her with a wide smile on his masked face.

"Tian'er. You're done?"

"Mhm." She nodded, the tanghulu in her hands almost finished. He then noticed the disheveled state of her clothes, showing bandages on her skin and smatters of dried blood on the cloth around it.

"You were injured." His smile immediately turned into a frown as he quickly walked over to her just as she finished the last of her tanghulu. He held her shoulders gently and examind her for traces of serious injuries.

"Don't worry, don't worry. I'm fine! It's just some minor scratches. I just got them treated to prevent infection. Wouldn't want them to rot and fall off or something." She replied with a nonchalant wave of her hand. She then moved out of his arms and walked towards the carriage. "Anyways, I'm starving. I haven't eaten since this morning. Let's hurry back to the Wangfu so I can fill my stomach."

She felt rather than saw his worried gaze on her but she just ignored it. The wounds really weren't anything big and wouldn't leave lasting scars so they weren't something she needed to pay special attention to. Rong Jian soon followed her and entered the carriage, where she was already sitting.

"By the way, I bought a bunch of gifts for the workers at Lavender Palace. We should go visit sometime soon so I can get rid of all this weight." She waved her Cosmos Bag as she spoke. Technically, there was a different dimension within the Cosmos Bag so no matter how much or what she put in it, it wouldn't affect it's weight in this plane of existence but it was still worrying for her not have any space within it.神

So..., I couldn't find a Chinese word that correlates with the 4th intonation so, I just went with the first. I'm sorry but it's still spelled the same in romanji.天欲

The third intonation of this romanji (与) means both "to bisect" and "cum" according to bab.la. https://en.bab.la/dictionary/chinese-english/与

It was a s*x joke waiting to be made but I held back, ok?
