"And, those two will be attending the meeting as well." Shen Tianyu pointed at Yanmen Mengxiao and Wu Linghao while her other hand was still gripped around Rong Jian's sleeve.

"...Us?" Wu Linghao pointed at himself and his companion with a questioning look.

"Of course. You're the Manager and Vice-Manager in charge of this region so you should at least understand how this will work and the resulting implications. You guys also know the laws, demographic, and market better since you're stationed here as businessmen. That kind of thing is important, which means any input you guys come up with will at least be considered. The Royal Family may be the ruling family of this kingdom but they have a lot of things to look at, they can't concentrate on just one thing like businessmen do. Qiao Wangye sells pretty much everything but he's not well-informed in the prostitution industry because he can't enter it due to our monopoly. On the other hand, you guys don't have much knowledge on the dessert and food markets so having Qiao Wangye to provide some insights will be beneficial." Shen Tianyu explained their purpose in needing to be present for the meeting.

"I understand Emperor Father and Brother Crown Prince but why would Third Eldest need to be there?" Rong Jian asked as he sat back down.

"We'll need the military to enforce some of the new policies, we can't have the head of the military be undecisive when executing enforcement because he doesn't have enought information. Jun Wangye is in charge of the military isn't he?" shen Tianyu continued.

"More or less, yeah." Rong Jian straight out admitted that his Third Brother was in charge of the military. Though Kuian Zihao wasn't the only military minister and was actually quite young compared to the other ministers, his relationship with the Crown Prince and the Emperor made him a bigshot within the military. Add that to his good reputation among the soldiers who looked up to him, gave him much more weight than even some of the oldest military ministers.

"Okay so, you guys bring some paper for notetaking, you might need to revisit what went down in the meeting down the line. Of course, I still expect you to actively participate in the discussion." She looked at Yanmen Mengxiao and Wu Linghao who obediently nodded. "I'll send word when the date of the meeting is decided, there's no need to be oberly tense since I'll be there too." She told them as she stood up, having finished her cup of tea.

Seeing her intent to leave, Rong Jian also put down his teacup and stood up. He nodded to Yanmen Mengxiao and Wu Linghao as a way to bid them goodbye as he followed Shen Tianyu out. The two of them nodded back and when the door closed, Yanmen Mengxiao got up to clean the low table.

"Miss is always so reliable~" Wu Linghao laid back into the couch as he watched his su[erior clean up in front of him.

"Of course. It's only to be expected of such a young genius that made a corporate empire which monopolizes a whole industry." Yanmen Mengxiao replied as he put all the teacups and the teapot back onto the tray.

"Coporate? Moneypolize? Where did you learn all those difficult words?" Wu Linghao poked the other's leg with his foot.

"Naturally someone with a monkey brain like you can not compreghend Miss's brilliant knowledge." Yanmen Mengxiao walked away with the tray in his hand.

"Monkey-?! Hey! I'm still named Vice-Manager, I'm not that stupid! If I'm a monkey, what of the people in lower positions than me?!" Wu Linghao jumped up and chased after Yanmen Mengxiao who had entred the side kitchen.

"Look at you jumping around, you're the only monkey here. You're only Vice-Manager because of Miss's kindness so get to work properly and show that her judgement wasn't wrong, no matter how much of a monkey you are." Yanmen Mengxiao calmly retorted as he washed up the cups.

"Ah... I get it. You're angry about me leaving you to wake up all alone this morning, aren't you?" Wu Linghao smirked behind Yanmen Mengxiao.

With a red face, Yanmen Mengxiao swings the tray at the other's face who deftly dodges. "Hey! It's dangerous to swing that around! You could have hurt my handsome face!" Wu Linghao yelled indignantly yet his laughter didn't make it sound convincing at all.

...

"Do you think we should ask for a formal meeting right now or another day?" Rong Jian asked Shen Tianyu as soon as they got back on the carriage.

"Do you have any other plans for today?" She questioned him back.

"No, I shouldn't." He answered her.

"Then let's go ask for a formal audience then while it's still light out." Shen Tianyu raised the edge of the curtains to confirm that it was indeed still daytime and dusk had yet to come.

"Alright then." Rong Jian poked his head around the curtain concealing the entrance of their carriage and spoke to the driver. "Head to the Imperial Palace."

The driver accepted the order for the change in destination and proceeded to change the direction the horses were heading in. Rong Jian settled back in his seat as he turned to watch Shen Tianyu who was now deep in her thoughts and occassionally mumbling to herself.

"It's technically easy to make chocolate so we definitely need a patent in place, which can also be applied to all the other businesses. However, needing to publicize the technical information would allow for counterfeits and underground sale for those that can't afford it at the original price. Not to mention the information systems of this time are far too behind. Who knows how long it'll take for the new information to travel to the rural areas? By that time, the underground sale might have already developed a market. That won't do so maybe we should make patents accessible to only the rulin government or family. However, if later generations were to abuse this power, businesses won't be able to fight back. And patents can only be enforced in cities, it would be unbeneficial if they were to send military members out to rural areas. We need to come up with a proper way to implement patents in this kind of age..." Shen Tianyu kept mumbling to herself with her head down in thought. Though he couldn't understand half the things she said, Rong Jian still stared at her the whole way to the Imperial Palace in infactuation. If the other servants saw this, they'd probably feel like the world had burned up and been remade. Love was terrifying!

When the inconspicuous carriage arrived in front of the Imperial Palace's gates, it was stopped unlike before. There was no dragon on it or any decorations to broadcast it's owner after all. The wood wasn't even painted over. The driver had to show the guards Zhu Wangye's official plaque and let them check the inside of the carriage to make sure there weren't any weapons or suspicious people. Because of the inspection, Shen Tianyu had to snap out of her mumbled plannings and get off the carriage along with Rong Jian, where they both stood as the guards did their check. Normally, they were supposed to be body checked too but the guards were already scared that they were required to check the carriage and didn't dare to ask for the two of their persons to be searched. And it had spread throughout the Imperial Palace that Zhu Wangye had a lover now. Temporary or not, they would have hell to pay if they were to anger the woman with Zhu Wangye, since the Empress seemed to like her too. The woman was most likely going to become the Zhu Wangfei if the Wangye didn't get tired of her before their official wedding.

When the guards were done checking the carriage, Shen Tianyu and Rong Jian got back on. Since this carriage wasn't as big as the formal one, and they were trying to be inconspicuous with it, they didn't need a palaquin to ship them to wherever they were going. The carriage started up again and Shen Tianyu had been broken out of her concentrated thinking so the two talked for the first time since they got on the carriage again.

"Aren't you nervous?" Rong Jian asked Shen Tianyu who now had a calm face and wasn't fidgeting out of nervousness.

"Not really. I'm pretty sure we can get an official audience with them since they care about you so much, they'll probably listen to such a small request. The most concerning part for me is what comes afterwards. I need to fully plan out how to get a certain policy to pass in a way that would also be beneficial to them and then come up with how to enforce it before we can start our business. To be honest, I would like to get a partnership with Qiao Wangye since he has an established brand. You're not really into doing business with others and are just in charge of relationships so you're not much help aside from easing policies to the other nobility and maybe managing Customer Relations." Shen Tianyu spat all this out as she examined her sleeve with a bored expression.
