Shen Tianyu finally appeared in front of Rong Jian at Si hour, fully decked in the most extravagant robes that you could muster in three layers. Though she was wearing more makeup than she was personaly used to, it was better than the last time where she felt like there was a literal mask on her face. The makeup this time also accentuated her natural beauty rather than tried to change her look to suit the trends. Originally, the maids had tried to go around her parameters and put, what felt like, a whole thirty pound of gold and silver hairpins with various designs and gems in her hair. However, after she looked into the bronze mirror and scolded them, she managed to have the Head Maid remove half of them. Currently, she has two buyao swaying on each side of her head. On the left was a hairpin adorned with a cluster of white cherry blossoms with bright rubies in the middle and gold painted stamens. Each blossom had a tiny silver chain the length of half a hand hanging down from them. The chains were weighted down with a gleaming pearl at the end. On the right side was buyao hairpin shaped into a two-layered wing. The bottom layer was a golden wing that looked more like a cage for the aquamarines contained inside each feather due to all the empty space. The second layer was comprised of five feather-shaped light green jade with beautiful patterns in the stone in the color of a darker green. The hairpin was weighted down with a light green jade kept in place by a small cage of gold inlaid with more aquamarine gems at the end of a gold chain the same length as the other buyao hairpin. She wore a crown in the shape of a headband with a whole line of camellias with red coral petals and garnet centers. She also had on a hairpin with a large silver butterfly welded into it that had opal wings in addition to a few more hairpins the Head Maid managed to leave on her head that were either made of gold or silver and all had gemstones on them.

"... How am I going to be able to eat in this getup?" She sighed to herself as she tried to sit down with the help of two maids. She was wearing a white zhongyi inside with a light blue ruqun. The lower skirt of the ruqun was a slightly deeper blue that covered the zhongyi and a little more. The ruqun had deep blue embroidery of clouds and lotuses with a five-fingered claw on her right hip. The belt of the ruqun was a sky blue with an ocean blue sash on top of it. Hanging from her right hip was her black jade plaque, on a red string, for the Lotus Pavillion auction house that also served as a confirmation of her position with the red string tied in a lucky knot right below the plaque. Her identification plaque was hanging right beside the black jade plaque. On top of her ruqun was an open zhaoshan, the most elaborately decorated of the whole ensemble. It was embroidered with bamboo, pine, and plum along with a whole mountain landscape of lush green thread that reached the sleeves. The sleeves were wide enough to easily reach the middle of her thighs when she held her arms out though her zhongyi was tighter than her ruqun and zhaoshan so it still covered her arms. The collar of the zhaoshan was lined with white fur to keep the wearer warm in the winter months. Thankfully, the zhaoshan wasn't as long as the skirt of the ruqun so she only needed to worry about one layer of skirt, maybe two, but not three. The zhaoshan went down until her knees unlike the other layers.

Worried that her long sleeves might knock some food over, she rolled up the sleeves of her ruqun and zhaoshan, ignoring the disapproving glare of the Head Maid behind her. "The sleeves are so wide, how do your women not freeze to death from all the wind flowing inside?" She asked as she picked up her chopsticks.

"Well, they usually keep their hands in the sleeves to keep the cold out and only take them out in a heated room. I thought you might have ot wear somethig like that so I had them heat the room for a while, is the temperature not to your liking?" Rong Jian asked after placing a piece of beef on her bowl of rice.

"I felt it was warmer in here than before, I thought it was just my imagination. It's definitely warmer than outside. Good job, ah-Jian." She responded as she ate the beef along with some rice. "Good thing I'm not the one in charge of carrying and passing out the documents or these sleeves will knock everything over and prolong the meeting with the mess that'd make." She glared at the long sleeves hanging off the table that she was trying to keep from the tabletop that contained bowls and dishes of food.

"Eat more, Wifey. You need the energy to talk to Emperor Father and my three older brothers in such an official setting." Rong Jian added more food to Shen Tianyu's bowl from the various side dishes scattered all over the table.

"You don't tell me that. I'm already starving from being awake at such an early hour and having my makeup and hair done alongside trying out a bunch of clothes." Shen Tianyu complained as she started to shovel rice and side dishes into her mouth.

Rong Jian chuckled as he started to eat his own breakfast, watchugn her shovel food into her mouth. She had told th emaids to put on the lipstick after she had eaten and it was a good thing she did. With her complete disregard, they would have to apply the lipstick after the meal anyways.

When they finished eating and finished their final preparations, they got onto the official Zhu Wangye's carriage that was waiting for them at the front gate and rode to the Imperial Palace. With the official carriage this time, they were let into the Imperial Palace without a problem and they once again boarded the palaquins headed towards the Emperor's Meeting Hall. When they arrived at the front of the Meeting Hall, the Crown Prince, Qiao Wangye, and Jun Wangye were waiting outside. There was still some time until their scheduled meeting time so the Emperor was still dealing with the previous appointment. Yanmen Mengxiao and Wu Linghao, the two managers of He City's Lavender Palace were yet to be present.

"This subject greets the Crown Prince, Qiao Wangye, and Jun Wangye." Shen Tianyu greeted them formally with a bend of her knees and her hands clasped on her hip in a court lady's bow after she got off her palaquin. "I thank the Crown Prince and two Wangyes for making time out of your busy schedules to attend today's meeting."

"Eldest Brother, Second brother, Third brother." Rong Jian greeted them more casually with just clasped hands in front of him and a slight dip of his head.

"Good to see you two so well." The Crown Prince was the first to respond.

"Come now, there's no need to be so formal, sister-in-law. We're going to be a family soon." Qiao Wangye tried to break the ice.

"Indeed. There's no need to be so formal, sister-in-law. Just greet us like little fourth did." Jun Wangye chimed in with a friendly smile.

"Might I remind you three I have yet to be formally engaged and am not yet married into the family. You guys might be fine with it but the Palace servants and ministers are going to talk, you know." She responded more casually but still kept a formal distance from them.

"I personally don't think it's much of a problem..." Rong Jian mumbled, scratching his cheek.

"Don't underestimate those old geezers. If you step on their bottom line in any way, they can make your life a living hell. I'd rather not deal with troublesome things like that after I finally gt rid of the same proble just before." Her cold expression didn't show any emotion so she didn't look like she was arguing with them from afar. 'I remember reading about an Empress Dowager that killed her own blood daughter because some military minister decided to get uppity and threatened her with not sending reinforcements to save her son. In the end... that didn't go very well for the daughter's daughter since the Princess had gotten into a loveless marriage to deflect that minister's criticisms. I'd rather not go throught anything similar thank you very much. At least I won't be staying here in long enough intervals for that to have a serious effect. Or at least I don't plan to.' She thought to herself as she waited for the previous appointment to scram out of the Emperor's Meeting Hall.9:00-11:00the hairpins with dangly bitsinner garment, usuallly made of white cotton or silka top garment with a separate lower garment or skirt, usually worn by womenan overcoat that is often open at the front
