Qiao Wangye followed directly behind her as the other three Wangye fell in line behind him. Business wasn't their forte so they decided it was best they didn't get in the way of negoitation between potential business partners. "Lavender Palace is quite a big name already, why do you want to sell under my brand all of a sudden?"

"Lavender Palace is indeed a big name, however, we are only known for our prowess in the Red Light Distrct and our little... side business. There's no trust whatsoever in the culinary department, you see. Eve if our food is sought after by the rich and wealthy, they might be less inclined to buy it as a confectionary. Not all reputation can attract customers in new sectors after all. And if we sell it, the wealthy custimers will feel it's less exclusive as before and might not want to pay for it. On the other hand, commoners would feel we're sketchy, which would deter their purchase, you see. So we need a well-known brand that deals in confectionary or a multi-purpose brand like yours that is known for quality, Qiao Wangye."

"So you want to use our name to sell your product? But like I said, quality is the deciding factor. It's mostly popular because it's rare isn't it?" He replied.

"How rude. People do regularly order our chocolate, you know? Anyways I did say you could come over at some appointed time to see if the ones we're planning to sell will fit your definition of quality, enough to be put on your store's shelves." She shot back.

"Then, I'm looking forward to it. Should I make the appointment with your Managers or you?"

"The Managers if possible, they'll be the ones getting the reception ready anyways."

The two of them nodded to each other and Shen Tianyu fell back in line with her two subordinates that were following behind the Wangye.

"Miss, I get why you want to sell under Qiao Wangye but we don't have to go too far, right?" Wu Linghao asked when she started walking beside him.

"We can't exactly sell pastry out of a brothel can we? Maintaining a store front costs money and land in the Imperial Capital isn't cheap you know? It's better to sell at an established store and give them a portion of the profits than going out of our way to buy land to build a store and advertise on our own. Besides, we even if we can buy a store that's already built, chances are high that it is in an unfavorable spot and that's why the owner sold the store. The Red Light District is easier to manage because it's in a clear section of the city and as long as you have at least a few courtesans that can attract customers, you're set. But ordinary business that doesn't involve services of that nature is different. People aren't going to routinely go down into some alley to buy food that's only exotic or slightly better than the rest. That's one of the reasons why stores close to the main road are so profitable, they're convenient. Also, if they can afford the spot there, they probably have enough money to keep their products at a good quality, or that's the assumption. Most businesses there are actually sponsored by nobles, though. Stores that do well on the main straight with no administrative ties to nobles are rare and far between." She spewed out her reasoning as if all that thought was second nature to her. She was a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman so it's not a stretch to say that it is indeed her second nature.

"Oooh... I didn't think about that..." Wu Linghao muttered in understanding.

"Of course you didn't, idiot. Miss is not some run of the mill person like you, she's a genius. There's no way you can measure up to Miss." Yanmen Mengxiao spat out, looking at the other in disdain.

"How mean! I never said I could measure up to Miss, I just said I didn't think of that, how can you twist my words like that?" Wu Linghao pouted at his partner beside him.

"I'm not a genius though..." She muttered under her breath. ' Isn't that kind of analysis a basic thing? Well, they're all cultivators not businessmen so they probably haven't developed that level yet? Well, I probably shouldn't say anything or the argument will go on forever... ' She thought to herself with a sigh of despair. At first, everyone was wary of her but after she started to show some of her best talents, they started calling her a genius and a treasure and whenever she tried to refute it, they'd argue with her like their lives depended on it. She eventually got tired of those kinds of exchanges and just muttered her misery low enought that they can't hear in their occupied state. ' In the first place, that kind of labeling just puts pressure on the person they're praising so I would appreciate it if they can lessen my stress... Not that I ever act very stressed Good thing I have them doing most of my work for me or I'm going to have a mental breakdown at some point with all the things I need to do. '

As for Qiao Wangye, he runs a well-known multi-purpose shop that sells everything from foreign goods to packaged sweets. Due to limited shop space and the need to expand at a later date, only high-quality goods are sold there so it acquired a reputation for quality soon after. The prices range from prices only the nobility could afford to low prices that any commoner could easily fork over. Therefore not only does it have a wide range of customers, it has also become a place to mingle with different classes and an opportunistic place for merchants or secondary sons that want to start a business but need a rich sponsor. One would think with so much foot traffic and money being passed around that the crime rate was high. However, due to the founder's Wangye status and his relationship with Jun Wangye, soldiers and constables patrol that place frequently. Organized crime syndicates try to steer clear of that place and the few muinor thieves that manage to get in are usually caught by the mercenary guards employed at the front door. Due to being a hotspot for business negotiations, they have built new rooms at the back of the store to act as meeting rooms. Currently, almost every major city has one of his stores, similar to Lavender Palace, though it gets more sparse once you leave the kingdom. Due to relations between Tianan Empire and Rikui Kingdom, he has not been successful in opening a single store there but he doesn't seem to mind, instead focusing on the countries allied with Rikui. And, perhaps because he's a Wangye and therefore has a lot of money to spare, he doesn't take advsntage of craftspeople that are permitted to sell their wares in his store. He adds a fee to sell in the shop on top of the market price of their goods so they're almost always paid the amount they should get. It certainly makes handmade crafts expensive but the attention to detail of humans and the steady hands of proffessionals can never be beat. For those that do take personal requests, the shop has their information so if a customer wishes, they can contact the craftspeople personally. His policy of not exploiting the makers that work tirelessly behind the scenes makes him quite popular and aligns with Shen Tianyu's policy of no worker exploitation. Sure such a policy might drive prices up but in the long term, the workers will be more loyal to your brand and will be more than likely to stick through you during tough times. One person can't run a big business after all, they'd die from overwork. The most important thing in a business is not money but trust. No matter how much money you offer, if you're not trustworthy, people will have their guard up and not want to sell to you.

Though he is a great bussinessman, the one major flaw that even babies know about, is that he's a complete womanizer. Whenever he's at one of his stores, doing an inspection or taking care of some paperwork, he'd always flirt with the women there, whetehr they be workers or customers. It never quite gets to the point of sexual harrassment but it definitely draws attention. As long as the woman is not clearly married, he'll try to hit them up. Though he technically has morals since he doesn't try to flirt with married women, but people have said that he'll still send them winks. The men know they'll never win so they almost never bring their daughters or fiancees there unless absolutely necessary. And they always try to get out of the shop as quickly as possible whenever he's there. There are also occassianlly trashy nobles that try to pick up girls there but they always cross the line and end up gettin tossed out.
