"I thought it would take at least a day but I didn't think it would take this long..." It was the first time for both of them to write up an official policy proposal. They kept calling Rong Jian over to check if the format was right and rewriting it. They haven't called on him since Wood Day, three days ago, though. Because they were in the middle of talking out a partnership with Qiao Wangye, if it wasn't already done, they were rushing to have the new policy implemented so they could start producing enough chocolates for sale. There were no machines in this world so all the chocolates were made by hand, that was one of the reasons why they were so exclusive. Good thing they weren't as perishable as other foods and pastries and had enough time to train new chocolate chefs. The basic recipe wasn't hard and that was going to be what they were planning to sell to the ones in poorer economic status. The more difficult recipes, like truffles and such, were made by the top chefs and would be at the price range only accessible to the nobility for the foreseeable future.

"Should we call in Zhu Wangye for a final check?" Yanmen Mengxiao asked from his face on the desk.

"...Ugh... we should..." Shen Tianyu sighed with her head handing from the back of the couch she was sitting on. ' I don't want to revise it anymore but we really should get one final look to see if everything is in place. We still have time to change some small things... technically. ' She thought to herself that she finally understood why her Vice-President was complaining about the workload so much. It was indeed a lot of work, though they never really had a hand in politics in that world but this was about the same as a last minute project that they had to finish. Because she actually had good time management, she never really felt the pressure of a deadline in school. "Ugh... I don't want to move... Where's Linghao?" She asked tiredly.

"Um... I think... he should be... in his room maybe?" Yanmen Mengxiao racked his exhausted brain for an answer and only realized that the other Manager might be still asleep after looking at the light streaming through the window behind him. The office was awash with soft orange light signaling the sun had just risen.

"Huh?" Shen Tianyu moved her eyes to look at the windows, finally noticing the time. "Oh... Rong Jian is probably getting ready to- wait... there's no Morning Court today. It's God Day. Uh... Whatever, we can have Linghao call him over later. Let me rest a bit..." She muttered the last bit as she slid sideways to lay her whole body on the couch and closed her eyes.

"Don't fall asleep please." Yanmen Mengxiao warned when he saw her slide onto the couch.

"I'm having a headache from looking at all the words for five days straight. Even if I want to, I can't fall asleep." She said with her eyes still closed. There was the slightest frown in her brow as she was trying to calm down the throbbing that she felt was her brain apprarently trying to break out of her skull and pushing against her eye sockets from the inside. She folded her hands under her head to serve as a makeshift pillow.

"You're going to catch a cold laying around." Yanmen Mengxiao cautioned again, still not moving from his previous position.

"I'm fine. I spend five nights like this, I won't get sick so easily now... unless I'm already sick and my adrenaline just kept me from noticing in which case, it'll probably hit me soon. Actually, you laying down face first like that will put pressure on your lungs and heart, you know? That's more unhealthy." She warned him back. She heard a loud thump but didn't open her eyes.

"Don't want that." He heard the other's voice on the floor next to the desk.

"The floor's dirty. Just get on the other couch, you stupid oaf." She snorted. The floor around the deks was carpeted but that doesn't mean it wasn't dirty. In actuality, carpet is harder to clean than wooden floors so they're actually dirtier.

"Ugh... pull me there..." He whined as he held up one arm, though he knew the other probably couldn't see it.

"I already told you I have a splitting headache. You have all your limbs, get there yourself or I'll make sure you have an actual excuse to need help moving once I recover." She snapped back, beginning to loose her patience because talking and having to listen to someone else is apparently making her headache worse. Her sensitive hearing heightened by her cultivation definitely wasn't helping. She could hear Yanmen Mengxiao grunt as he pushed himself up from the ground and half-crawled to the couch opposite her, through the throbbing in her head. They both stayed silent like this as one tried to recover his energy and the other tried to make her headache subsidef enough that it didn't cloud her judgement.

After who knows how long, because neither of them was keeping track of the time, a knock on the door echoed through the room. When there was no answer after waiting for a while, the other person just pushed the door open without much fanfare.

"Oh... they were alseep?" They heard the new person mumble to himself.

"Wu Linghao, good timing. Go ask Zhu Wangye to come over for one last check." Yanmen Mengxiao spoke from his couch.

"And get me some painkillers while you're at it. Actually, do that before you go out." Shen Tianyu followed up with her own instructions. The headache doesn't seem to be getting any better and she needed to have full focus to discuss the proposal if there was any changes they needed to make so she can only down some painkillers and hope that lets her ignore her headache for the duration of the checkup.

"Huh? So you weren't sleeping? Geez, why didn't you answer the door then?" Wu Linghao complained but neither of them bothered to reply or say anything again. "Hey, I' talking to you guys, don't just ignore me!"

"Shut up and don't shout. Just go already." Shen Tianyu raised her voice in annoyance.

Wu Linghao shrunk back hearing the irritation in her voice and dropped his complaint. "Yes, understood. I'll go get the painkillers and Zhu Wangye immediately." He responded in a normal volume and quickly scurried out of the room, leaving a crack in the door. His Mistress can be scary when she was in a bad mood and he wasn't EVER going to test her patience during those times. He returned soon enough with a simple tray which held a porcelain cup of warm water and a bamboo tube with a few painkilling pills. Carefully holding the tray with two hands, he pushed the door open with his shoulder and placed the tray on the low table right in front of Shen Tianyu. "Here's your painkillers, Mistress. I've already tld the kitchen to make a light breakfast that's easy on the stomach for both of you. They should bring it up while I go fetch Zhu Wangye." Wu Linghao spoke in a low voice, trying his best not to aggravate his Mistress.

"Mn." Was the only response he got as he watched the girl, now a fully grown woman in terms of age in their world, open her eyes slowly. She then squinted as if the light coming from the windows were burning her eyes and Wu Linghao quickly went to close the curtains and block out the sunlight. Shen Tianyu then slowly sat up, letting her legs fall off the couch and leaned over to pick up the bamboo tube of pills. She pulled the plug off and dumped the contents into her mouth without hesitation and took off the lid of the porcelain cup. As she brought it to her lips, she hummed to signify that she was pleased the water was the right temperature and dranka few mouthfuls to down the painkillers. She then turned to find Wu Linghao still standing at the curtained windows and frowned. "What are you still doing here? Go get Rong Jian."

"Ah, yes! I mean, yes." Wu Linghao was startled and accidentally shouted like he normally did but immediately remembered she was unwell and couldn't handle loud noises so he reiterated his answer in a softer tone. He almost ran out of the room, being careful to not make any loud noises as he closed the door.

"So noisy." Shen Tianyu commented once he was gone, as she srubbed her temple as was her habit whenever she had a headache. Thankfully, the painkillers were quickly kicking in so she didn't have to suffer having her brain trying to explode out of her skull like Zeus when Athena was born, at least for a few shichen.
