"So, where am I supposed to sumbit it to?"

"I'll take you there." He offered, to which she squinted her eyes in thought.

"Mmm... you-, ah nevermind. I'll just tell Mengxiao and Linghao to submit it later. Do they need to hand it to someone?" She finally concluded that the sunlight would probably make her eyes and brain ache and so she decided against venturing outside for the day.

"Oh, no... it's just a box outside the Department of Justice's Office. They dealt away with human involvement as much as possible in the submission procees to protect the person's identity. Though someone will unlock the box and take out all the proposals once the day is over, every day." He replied in a slightly disappointed tone.

"Okay, I'll leave it to them once Mengxiao wakes up then." She replied as she put the envelope down and took out a cinnabar stick, her favorite writing tool, and wrote on the front of the envelope. "Proposal" was the simple name for the envelope and it's contents. 'Mengxiao can get some time off and a little date out of it.' She chuckled to herself as she put the envelope down.

"Are you not feeling well today?" Rong Jian asked once she was done, his brows knit in concern.

"Yeah. I have a plitting headache." She sighed and answered without hesitation. There was no point hiding something like that. She's learned that hiding trivial things like this will just make those around you even more worried and might cause the bigger worrywarts to blow things out of proportion.

"Then let's hurry back. You need to lay down. I'm sure Manager Yanmen and Vice-Manager Wu can handle the submission themselves. And the School starts soon so it would be unbeneficial if you happen to fall sick." He said as he fully stepped into the room and walked towards her.

"I was planning to do just that. I need to tell Linghao though so can we leave after that?" She asked him. He stopped his steps and nodded, moving to the side to let her walk out first. Rong Jian was the one that closed the door behind them and Shen Tianyu led him to Yanmen Mengxiao's room, which was next to the Birds of Paradise room which served as her room at all the branches. She softly knocked on the door and waited for soemone to answer. Rong Jian looked at her questioningly as if to ask why would a person sleeeping answer the door but was soon met with the door opening, though only a small crack.

"Mistress? What is it?" This time, Wu Linghao whispered instead of yelling like the other times.

"The final check on the proposal is done. Zhu Wangye said it was fine. I left it in an envelope on the Manager's desk in the Office. Once Mengxiao wakes up, you can go turn it in with him." She gave a quick summary of everything to the man holding the door ajar.

"Understood. We'll hand it in once he wakes up. He should be awake before they open the box." Wu Linghao nodded his head and gave a salute with one hand.

Shen Tianyu nodded and said her temporary goodbyes before she left with Rong Jian, the door to the room closing once they were out of sight.

"Vice-Manager Wu is very caring... I would not have guessed from his usual demeanor." Rong Jian commented as they walked out of the main building towards his carriage parked at the front gate.

"Hm. That's what Mengxiao said as well, though a bit differently." She responded without paying much attention as they boarded the carriage. As always, Rong Jian helped her onto the carriage. "Make sure to tell the driver to make the ride as smooth as possible please?" She pleaded as she held her head in her hands, not having the energy to even look out the windows.

Rong Jian did as she said and sat back down across from her, watching her with concern throughout the ride. The painkillers may be dulling her sense of pain but it didn't help to actually get rid of the pain itself. The small bumps that occassionally occured on their otherwise smooth ride swayed her body and only served to accentuate the pain each time. When they finally got off the carriage, she could feel the painkillers starting to wear off and her headache coming back full force. Rong Jian walked beside her the whole way back to her courtyard, ready to catch her if she misstepped. Thankfully, she didn't trip or fall the whole way and once she entered the courtyard, she was in the care of the maids.

"Make sure to take good care of Wangfei. If anything happens to her..." Rong Jian ordered the maids and narrowed his eyes threateningly. "you can be sure you will regret it." He finished before he flipped his sleeves and left.

Some of the maids helped Shen Tianyu to quickly change and helped her to lay on the bed while the others worked to warm up the quarters and prepare some blankets in case it wasn't enough. When they were in the middle of fussing over Shen Tianyu, an Imperial Physician arrived, supposedly called by Rong Jian. Shen Tianyu quietly went along with the Imperial Physician as she rolled her eyes inside. She should know better than anyone else what was happening inside her body and she most definitely wasn't sick, it was just a headache caused by lack of sleep and extended periods of concentration. The Imperial Physician instructed the Head Maid and her assistant before he left, giving them a formula to feed her in order to alleviate her headache after a meal. In the afternoon, she was given a light meal of thickened beef porridge with scallions and spring onions. Afterwards, she took her medicine which she complained as being too bitter but downed anyways, making the servants get her some sugar candy to get rid of the bitter aftertaste. she then sat down on her bed with ther back to the headboard to allow her lunch and the medicine avid time to travel to her stomach so she didn't accidentally choke in her sleep or something. Only after half a shichen did she lay back down on the bed and tried to sleep, though unsuccessfully since her headache was impairing her decision making and didn't allow her to be relaxed enough to sleep. So instead, she just stared at the ceiling of her ancient Chinese canopy bed and daydreamed about how she got to this world in the first place.

...

Shen Tianyu was originally named Xuan Lingwen and grew up in a single parent household. Though her mother was poor and had to work multiple jobs, they were a happy family despite the financial difficulties. Though it was those same financial difficulties and the glimpses of her mother when the other was alone that implanted her desire to earn money at an early age. She did wish to help her mother during those bad times but she was too young to be hired by any credible employers and shady work posed a threat to her mother's safety so she had to wait. While she waited, she threw all her energy insto studying. She figured if she was able to reach a high level at a young age, she'll be able to save on school costs through scholarships and she can also work without having to worry too much about her grades ince she was of age. Eventually, her mother did find another person to be with, a good man in her eyes who loved and took care of her mother. The two of them later had children, though only two because her mother was growing old. She and her siblings were almost a decade apart but she still took care of them the best she could when her parents weren't around. At a mere age of 15, she started her own business with a good neighbors of hers that she had known since she was little. The man had been through bad times just like her and was a little older, old enough to legally get a business license and own a business. They had bonded and became friends when she was still young because of the similarities in their situation. The only major difference being that the other's mother never found a good man for herself and died from a drug addiction she had gotten into out of depression. Shen Tianyu's, or rather Xuan Lingwen at the time, mother had sheltered the boy in their household for a short time before he was able to safely walk outside again. Xuan Lingwen saw immense potential in the boy but because of his situation, he was unable to graduate from working at the local supermarket chain. So, she called him over one day and pitched the business idea she had been formulating for a decade in her mind when she wasn't busy studying, doing chores, or taking care of her younger siblings. Amazed at the intricacies of the idea and not able to find a single hole, the man, Kurama, had agreed. Though she figured a part of it might have been because of the gratitude he still held for the mother and daughter pair for sheltering him all those years ago.
