Close to her last days, she could sense an ominous cloud looming overhead and started writing future plans she had for the company and her will, including who would inherit the company should anything happen to her, just in case she couldn't escape the danger she could sense was coming. Though they weren't allowed inside the building, the former fiancee and ex-boyfriend would loiter around the doors. They couldn't be put behind bars since they weren't really doing anything major and Xuan Lingwen was afraid that having them arrested for a short time would further aggrevate them so she cautiously decided to let them be. This was, perhaps, the second and most deadly mistake.

On the last day of her life, both brothers managed to barge into the building, perhaps because security was getting lax and were starting to think they weren't as big of a threat as the President said them to be. Her best friend had came to visit her through the back door that day, despite her warnings that she could feel something was going to happen. When the two girls had started to talk, she got a call on her phone that the men that had been loitering around had barged into the company building and the younger one, her ex-boyfriend, was threatening to detonate a bomb in their lobby if they didn't let them through. She told the security to try to subdue them and keep her updated as she pulled her personal cell phone out of her bag. When she was in the middle of reporting the police, with her office phone still connected to the secuirty guard's, she got another horrifying update. Her ex-boyfriend was strapped with bombs and was ready to suicide bomb the whole building. Technically speaking one wouldn't be able to bomb a whole fifteen-story building just from the lobby no matter how many bombs you strapped on a person. However, the ground lobby was what basically held the building up. If that was completely gone, the building would collapse and possibly destroy the surrounding buildings too.

She had the security guard ask for his demands, and was told that the man wanted them to let his older brother through. She told the police the rest of the story and set her cellphone down next to her office phone, still connected to the police station. When she turned back around, Bai Yaoxuan wa slooking anxiously at her.

"Lingling... I'm so sorry... It's because I-" She started to cry.

Xuan Lingwen held ehr hand out to stop her sentence. "Don't apologize. They were just that good, even I hadn't predicted this would happen until later. It's not your fault that you were just trying to find a life partner. Now hurry up and leave. It will get dangerous so you need to get out of here. Kurama should still be at his meeting, help me by prevent him form coming back here without telling him about this. I'm sure he'd rush here regardless of anything if he knew."

Bai Yaoxuan sniffed and wiped her eyes but the tears wouldn't stop trickling down. "Okay. I will. I will so, promise me you'll be fine okay?"

"I promise." For the first time she befriended the woman, she lied. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to get out of this situation unscathed. She ushered her friend out of her office and out the staircase to the back entrance then ran back to her office to wait for her ex-boyfriend's brother.

Thinking for a little bit, she moved her office phone and cellphone to the ground so the other won't notice if he entered and sat at her desk, still trying to finish up as much of her work as she could before the big encounter.

She heard the elevator next to her officce door ding but didn't lift up her head, continuing to click away at her computer.

"Well, if it isn't Miss President. It's amazing you can still keep working even in this situation. As expected of the reknown genius." The older brother said as he strode into the room.

Xuan Lingwen sighed and clicked save before closing her computer's browser. "I'll have you know one thing at least. I'm not a genius, just someone desperate for money. You don't even know how many hours of sleep I've lost just to build this brand." She replied as she stood up and walked around the desk. Sitting down in front of her computer screen, she swung her legs like a child on a swing. "So? What did you want?"

"Oh... Nothing much. I just heard that this famous brand of yours makes up to six, maybe even seven, digits so... I was just wondering if you can give it to me." He drawled as he plooped down on the sofa , draping his arms on the back of it.

"And that was why you got yourself acquainted with Yaoyao?" She narrowed her eyes as a cold smiel crept onto her face.

"Of course not. I found that out later you know? Yaoyao was quite evasive about your job so I never asked, I only found out from my brother. Though I'm quite hurt that she never told me." He held his heart as if he had been heartbroken.

"So it was my fault then." She commented without fropping the smile from her face.

"Oh I wouldn't say that... Look, we wouldn't have found out if Yaoyao hadn't introduced my brother to you right?"

"You say you want the company, but are you even willing to work for it? I imagine you'll just leave it up to whoever and reap the benefits without lifting a finger." She changed the topic, admiring her nails. Bai Yaoxuan was in the middle of painting it as part of their sister time right before this happened. Only half her nails were done and the asymmetry slightly bothered and irritated her.

"Don't you have a very capable underling? His loyalty is somwhat famous you know? No matter what other companies offered him, he always instantaneously rejected them. I'm sure he wouldn't mind going back to doing the kind of worl before you took up the mantle as long as you say the word." He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

"And you think threatening me will get him to wholeheartedly work for you?"

"Ahahaha. I'm sure even he isn't that crazy. But if you married then that might be a different matter." He laughed.

"You assume I will marry you or your brother because you threatened me?" Xuan Lingwen raised an eyebrow.

"Well... you wouldn't want all the employees in this building to become casualties, would you? That's a lot of families you need to pay. Even if you don't need to pay money, your company's reputation will take a big hit, you know?"

"I think it has already taken a big hit with you two barging into our office building."

"Ah well. We can still figure that out somehow. I'm sure with you and your underling's brains we'll be able to navigate out of this." He spoke as if she was already his subordinate.

"Hm... As expected, I'm not sure I should take your offer... I really don't want a deadbeat husband, you know." She tapped her chin with one finger, seemingly in thought.

"Now, now. Don't say that. We'll definitely treat you well..." He got off the couch and started to slink towards the woman sitting on the desk.

"Oh. I'm also not a fan of polygamy unfortunately. If you want me, you have to choose between your brother or you." She pushed with a smirk on her lips. Contrary to her countenance, she could feel the adrenaline rushing through her body in a fight or flight instinct. But she knew she had to lower the guard of the man in front of her and give Bai Yaoxuan enough time to escape so she won't be caught in the mess.

"That's too bad because that's not an option." the man let out a low chuckle before a third voice intruded on their conversation.

"It's the police! Put your hands in the air and don't move!" The faint voice came from her office phone that the security guards had kept connected. It seems the police had arrived.

'They're quite fast.' Was the only thought that left her mind before the man that had slowly been stalking up to her suddenly broke into a run straight at her. As if a signal gun had been shot, both people in the office sped into motion.

Xuan Lingwen immediately rolled off the desk when she saw the man pick up speed and unable to sopt, he collided with the edge of the desk at his midriff. Xuan Lingwen fell onto the floor and rolled a few more times before she got up. She didn't have the attention to respond into either phones on the floor nor take anything in her hand.

"Damn bitch! You actually had the audacity to call the police!" He roared, loosing all his previous coolness to panic as he rushed at her.
