"That's only true for you humans." The wolf humphed and smoothed down it's fur coat, sitting back on it's hind legs.
"Nope. It's true for all animals. Anger and stress are bad for humans and other animals. Some animals can die from it so you should be careful too." She reached out a hand to pat the wolf's fur.
"I am a demonic beast, not some run of the mill animal or human." It narrowed it's eyes and growled at her again.
"Then it's even more dangerous. you have the sentient mind of a human and the body of an animal, though strengthened through bestial cultivation methods. You have the worst of both worlds." Shen Tianyu crossed her arms and nodded as if she was a sage.
"Anyways, what are you dong here?" The wolf gave up on arguing with her and instead asked her why she had come.
"Can't I just come to visit my contracted spiritual beast?" She looked at him with slight hurt.
"You do realize you haven't visited for a month? So, what is it that you want?" Xue Lang harrumphed and continued to press.
"I just wanted to check on your situation. Have you been able to cultivate in here?" She asked him as she unfolded her arms.
"Hm… I've been able to stabilize my cultivation a while ago butt as for advancement… this place doesn't seem to have as much effect as the cave from before." The wolf contemplated. "This is supposed to be some kind of secret dimensional space right? Then, it should have a decent amount of spiritual power, yet I can't fell very much of it."
"Hm… Perhaps it's more like a storage space than a cultivation space?" Truthfully, Shen Tianyu was fascinated by the space but she didn't feel any extraordinary amount of spiritual power from any of the places either. She thought a demonic beast, who was more sensitive to spiritual power, might find something but in the end it was no use. So what exactly was this space? It doesn't seem that awesome aside from the skills it grants. The places within weren't that useful.
"Perhaps… Anyways, you can let me out now right? In the first place, we Snow Wolves are demonic beasts, we're not supposed to be confined in a place like this, you realize?" Xue Lang wanted o be let out since the Wind Shrine was a pretty open space so there wasn't much to explore in the first place, aside from the things his new Mistress had put in there. And knowing her, the things in here definitely weren't for some casual play.
"Ah, I should. We've arrived at Rong Jian's place so it should be fine to let you out." Shen Tianyu immediately agreed and threw Xue Lang out of her space. Shortly after making sure everything was still in place, she left her space and came back to her mediating body on her bed.
" Did you have to be so rough ?" She heard Xue Lang steak inside her mind once she was back in her body.
"Huh? Was that rough? I don't really know how to take living things out of it. You're the first living thing to enter it beside myself. And I can't entirely enter it, only my spirit can. Maybe it's because it's connected to my soul in some way ?" She questioned the wolf through their bond.
The wolf just let out a sigh and sat on it's legs beside her bed.
"Miss. I have brought dinner." She heard the Assistant Head Maid announce from the door of the room.
She looked at her contracted spiritual beast, silently asking if they wanted food too. It growled a yes.
She turned back to the door. "Alright. Put it on the table. Sorry to inconvenience you but please get another portion, we have a guest." She ordered as she walked around the screen with Xue Lang in tow.
"A guest?" The Assistant Head Maid breathed with some joy in her voice. But when she entered the room to put the food she was holding down, all she saw was a snow white wolf. She frowned for a brief minute but quickly fixed her expression and put the tray of food on the table in the living room with a subservient smile. "Of course, Miss. I'll go get the other portion immediately." She responded to the earlier order and turned around to leave again.
Shen Tianyu sat down on one of the drum stools surrounding the table without sparing a second glance at the woman.
" That woman …" Xue Lang said to his Mistress as he sat beside her leg.
" Yeah, I know ." She responded nonchalantly as she picked up her pair of chopsticks. There were three dishes and one bowl of rice on the tray with only one meat dish among them.
" You're not going to deal with her ?" Xue Lang asked in surprise. He had more or less figured out that she wasn't soft enough to let another woman take away her man.
"Why should I? She doesn't have high enough cultivation to harm me and if she managed to get hold of a poison that could harm me, that'd mean there was someone behind her so all the more reason we should keep her to trace back her new boss. A servant, no matter where you're serving, would never be able to get their hands on poison that could harm a Meridians level cultivator. Even if said cultivator is only at the initial stage ." She reasoned as she dug into her measly meal. In truth she was actually a level below what the other participants of the Chengyuan Schools's entrance exam had guessed. Though it was only a difference of one or two levels, it was extremely difficult to beat someone on a level higher than you due to the increase in power. Each level multiplied a cultivator's power by at least tenfold. Luckily, she wasn't fighting an actual cultivator trying to kill her so she had an easier time during the test.
" Hm… you actually have a better head on your shoulders than I initially thought ." Xue Lang gave a backhanded compliment as he swiveled it's head to watch her.
" Hey what does that mean. Of course I have a good head on my shoulders. You think some Wangye would fall for someone just because they are good at the musical arts? Those women can be found everywhere, he would more likely be bored of them than interested ." She responded without breaking her calm expression as she put her wooden chopsticks clutching a few leaves of lettuce into her mouth. " Besides, if that was true, that'd mean you lost to someone without a good head on their shoulders. In the end, wasn't that just insulting yourself ?"
" Guh. You sure know how to turn these things around in your favor. " Xue Lang admitted defeat. He wasn't around humans enough to actually argue with her and anyways she was his Mistress so he shouldn't defy her too often.
"Hum." Shen Tianyu audibly let out a hum as she took her wooden chopsticks out of her mouth. Unexpected to Xue Lang, the pair of chopsticks immediately disappeared, probably placed into her space.
" Could it be?! " Xue Lang was at least intelligent enough to understand what that action meant.
" This one isn't very smart. And most likely doesn't have a backer. Well, I'll go talk to Rong Jian later to have her investigated just in case anyways. " She responded as she chewed the rest of the food in her mouth.
" What are you doing still chewing then?! Hurry up and spit it out! " Xue Lang panicked. If his contracted Master died so easily, his cultivation would also be impacted, he was well aware of how weak he actually was compared to other demonic beasts so he couldn't have that happen.
"Hm? If I did that, she'd suspect that I found out you know? Besides, this small amount of poisonous Lingzhi mushroom juice won't be able to harm me. Actually even if I ate a whole poisonous Lingzhi mushroom, my body would only… get rid of it on it's own ." She spoke through their bond as she took out a small bag from her own Cosmos bag and dumped all the dishes into it, putting the empty bowls back on the tray when she was done. "Now I'm skeptical if I should let you eat the food she brings you too. Sorry about that, I'll get you something proper to eat later." She apologized to the wolf with a dip of her head.

Just as she settled back into her original position, there came a knock on the wooden doors again.
