Shen Tianyu took one leap and landed on the wall surrounding her courtyard, right on top of the circular hole that served as the entrance to the place. She then jumped onto the wall surrounding Rong Jian's courtyard before taking a final leap onto the roof of the main building. Swinging her head around, she took a quick scan of the surroundings before hurriedly climbing down the front of the building.

Smoothing her clothes and hair, Shen Tianyu held her hand up and gently knocked on the door to the study of Rong Jian's courtyard. "Ah-Jian, it's me. Can I come in?"

The door swung open so quickly Shen Tianyu jolted back in surprise, just in time too. As a sword immediately followed the crack in the door and missed her face by two fingers' length.

"Tian'er? It was just you?" Rong Jian emerged as the crack in the door widened and he hastily retracted his sword upon seeing the face of the person in front of the door.

"Who did you think it was? I said it was me, didn't I?" Shen Tianyu rolled her eyes, not at all looking offended that her fiancee had just almost spilled her blood.

"I'm sorry. Did I hurt you anywhere? Whya are you standing out in the cold like this? And why ddi you jump on my roof? I thought you were an 'unwelcomed guest', if you need to find me, you can just walk into my courtyard, my men won't stop you." Rong Jian started rambling after he got over his shock and began to worry over her wellbeinig as he ushered her into his study.

"I'm fine. I won't die from such an obvious sword strike." She waved her hand at him ononchalantly as she stepped into the much warmer room. She may have only been outside for a few moments at most, but the weather looked like it could snow, which meant it was bone chillingly cold no matter how you look at it.

"Are you sure? You're really not hurt right? Why are you coming so late? Have you recovered from your headache? Ah, do you want some tea?" Rong Jian scrambled around like a little servant to try and make her comfortable.

"Jeez. What are you panicking so much for? Look at me, there's not a scratch. I'm fine. Though I would like a cup of warm tea, yes." Shen Tianyu compromised on the tea so she could warm up her insides faster.

Rong Jian went to his tea set and flipped one of the cups, pouring tea from the teapot inside and carefully set it down next to Shen Tianyu on the table. She was sitting in a set of two rosewood chairs on either side of a lacquered, four-legged, rosewood table. She smiled at him in thanks and picked up the cup, blowing on it to cool it down as she waited for Rong Jian to settle in the chair next to her.

"Hey, you don't have to answer if you don't want to but did you just execute someone?" Shen Tianyua sked as she stared at a prticular spot on the carpet in the middle of the room.

"Huh? I didn't, why...?" Rong jian followed her gaze and ttried to make out why she asked that question all of a sudden.

Shen Tianyu pointed at the spot on the carpet she was staring at with her index finger, not taking her eyes off of it. "Look. there's a bloodstain right there."

Rong Jian, who was seated next to her, squinte dhis eyes to try and see what she was pointing at. "There... seems to be..." He finally admitted after staring for a long time. "One of my subordinates came in to report to me even though he was injured, that's probably where it came form." He clarified for her before she could get any misunderstandings.

"Ah. That definitely explains it." Shen Tianyu roved her eyes aorund the small and nearly inconspicuous bloodstain but didn't find any other bloodstains. She then calmly took a sip of her tea before she set it back on the table. "By the way, I came here at this time today because you said you didn't want to eat with me today." She puffed up her cheeks in an endearing pout, twisting the words of the Assistant Head Maid at the same time.

A question flashed through Rong Jian's eyes but he decided that the matter at hand right now was more important, filling it to the back of his mind. "I was definitely busy but I didn't say I didn't want to eat dinner with you today. I wanted to come feed you but I was told that you had already ate so I just ate on my own."

"That's right. And I even brought some food for you!" She exclaimed as she took out two bags from the Cosmos Bag at her waist. "Look, there's so much food!" she said as she st them down on the table. "So, shouldn't you reciprocate by giving me food too?" She looked up at Rong Jian from below and batted her eyelashes cutely.

"Sure but... didn't you just eat?" He agreed, being stunned momentarily, before everything she said caught up to him.

"I was just joking. No matter how resilient my body is, I don't have the courage to finish a meal with Poisonous Lingzhi mushroom juice in it." She straightened her back and dropped her cutesy act, pushinig the smaller Cosmos Bag forward. Normally, it was hard for a non-medic to differentiate a regular, medicinal, Lingzhi mushroom and the poisonous variety and even some experts make mistakes sometimes. since they are actually of the same umbrella variety, they smell the same and even taste almost the same. Except a Poisonous Lingzhi mushroom had the added flavor of sweetness that was always barely there and could be mistaken as just sugar added to the concoction. One had to be able to differentiate the natural sweetness and the sweetness of sugar or honey to be able to tell if a Lingzhi mushroom was of the poisonous variety or not. Shen Tianyu may not be an expert at cooking but she was a foodie who developed quite a refined palate from eating at expensive restaurants almost every other day for a meeting with some rich stockholder or potential investor when she started to take over the company and when she started it, she was in charge of problematic clients at the time after all. This also helped in her learning of poisons because everything had a taste or smell that was distinct to the plant or object. Even tasteless and odorless poisons have their own unique features. Having a godo sense of taste already helped her to identify a majority of poisons. Though, she could also survive on bare minimum food also if she ever needed to.

Rong Jian's face twisted into a severe frown that she had never seen before. "Heheh... So someone dares to use such an uncouth thing on the person I have claimed to be my fiancee... Heheh... Seems like I have been away for too long that they've forgotten how scary I am when I'm mad." He laughed like a villain as he pinched the Cosmos Bag and picked it up without opening it, looking at it from various angles on the outside.

"What are you looking at the bag for? The food is inside." Shen Tianyu raised an eyebrow, wondering if his brain had short-circuited from anger.

"Ah, I just wanted to make sure nothing was amiss with the bag." He set the bag back down onto teh table, on his side.

"I let Xue Lang out and asked the servant to get a second portion of food. After tasting mine, I was worried they'd slip something in his food too so I packaged it. The water they provided is also in here." Shen Tianyu explained as she slid the bigger bag across the table without any prompting. "I hope you don't mind that I've let Xue Lang out. He's been... tired. And I figured it would be fine since we're in your territory."

"No worries, any friend of Tian'er's is also my friend. Even if you invite friends over, I won't mind. You will become the Mistress of this residence, there's no need to ask for my permission on these small matters." He gave her a wry smile as he took the bigger bag. Looking at it, he spoke again. "I'll have my subordinates test these. From the sounds of it, you already know who it was, why didn't you just capture them and bring them to me?"

"Well, I figured I should let them be in case they had a backer. Besides, it's one of your people and fiance or not, I'm still technically an outsider so people will talk about you if I start ordering your people around before I've even done the three bows 1 with you." She picked up her cup of tea again and proceeded to sip on the contents.

Chinese wedding tradition, similar to Western ring exchange during the ceremony. Bow to Heaven & Earth, bow to parents & bow to each other.
