" I see. Then, I'll just play sick for a few days until Ah-Jian finishes his work. It feels good to be lazy. " She snuggled further into her blankets and beckoned the wolf to lay oin top of the blankets below her chest area.
" How come I didn't know you were this lazy? " The wolf shot back as he jumped onto the edge of the bed before laying on top of her blankets to keep it's master warm.
Adter laying in bed for a while, trying to fall asleep, they both heard a soft knock on the window of her room. "Wangfei, Wangye told me to deliver some food..."
"Xue Lang, go get the window." Shen Tianyu muttered with her eyes closed, unwilling to get out of the warm confines of her bed.
The wolf glared at her for a moment before he got up and went to the desk in front of the window, It picked a spot to land and jumped onto it, extending it's paws to push open the window. Shen Tianyu, back on the bed, shivered a little as the cold air was let in. "Quickly get the food and come here." She urged due to the cold.
"Uh... this..." The man at the window, wearing all black, with only his eyes visible stared at the wolf sitting on it's hind legs with it's front paws stretched out, then at the girl on the bed hidden by the wall due to the angle he was at and back to the wolf again.
"It's my contracted spiritual beast. Now hurry and hand over the food. If I really do catch a cold form all the cold air coming in, I'm going to complain to your Wangye." She irritably ordered the man in black without opening her eyes, only furrowing her brow in annoyance.
"Yes, Miss!" The man seemed frightened as she felt him straighten up, due to the change in airflow, and hurriedly handed over what he was holding to the waiting wolf. He even went as far as closing the window behind him as she set off again.
After the window was closed and the cold night air was blocked from the room did she open her eyes, immediately cocking an eyebrow as she looked int he direction the man had run off to. "How come I didn't know Ah-Jian was so frightening?" She mused as her wolf contracted spiritual beast walked over on it's four legs, carrying a cloth bag in it's mouth. The shape of a big box could clearly be seen through the cloth, which stayed steady as her spiritual beast trotted closer. She sat up, trying to wrap herself with the blankets but gave up upon thinking that it'd mess them up and she'd have to fix them later when she laid back down to sleep. In addition, it wasn't exactly easy eating food as a coccon, she should know sinc eshe did that before. A lot. She ended up sitting up normally with the blankets only covering her legs. The wolf set the cloth bag down next to her pillow and jumped onto the bed again, making itself at home at the other end of the bed, it's head facing her. She picked up the cloth bag decorated with plum blossoms and set it on her lap, almost ripping the wrapping off. The unfurled wrappings revealed two boxes stacked on top of each other, instead of one big box. She opened the top lacquered black box to find the food still steaming hot, filled with various kinds of dumplings and shumai in it. Set into the side of the red inside of the box was a pair of silver chopsticks. "Oh, this one's mine." She declared as she lifted it and set it next to her on the bed. Curious about what the other box held, she opened it to find a red inside holding a cold slab of raw meat. She couldn't tell what animal it came from, though with the lack of spiritual fluctuations, it was probably from a normal farm animal. "Oh, this must be yours." She disinterestedly placed the box in front of her wolf spiritual beast.
" Hey! Why is it raw mwat again! I want to try human food too! And this isn't even from a demonic beast! " The wolf complained as it stared daggers at the box of raw meat.
"Even if you stare at it, it won't change into demonic beast meat or human food, you know. It's not like it's rotten or anything, just deal with it." She commented as she happily picked up her box with one hand and the set of chopsticks in the other.
" You're only saying that because you actually got good food. " He directed his glare at her, since his meat wasn't going to morph.
"Yes I am, and what can you do about it?" She teased as she picked up a plump and full shumai, it's skin so thin she could make out the filling inside. Maintaining eye contact with the white wolf on her bed, Shen Tianyu placed the shumai in her mouth and made a satisfied sound as she bit into it. "It's so good! I wonder where he got this... even the kitchen staff haven't made such a goof shumai in the time that I've statyed here."
Xue Lang could only begrudgingly watch it's master enjoy her food as he chewed on the raw meat inside the box in front of him. He still hadn't forgotten the defeat at the Forest of Broken Bones and if they spilled the food during the fight, they wouldn't be able to eat it. Even he had a standard of cleanliness. Besides, the food looked so delicious, if it was really spilled, he was afraid of what the woman would do to him, now that she was it's Master.
When they both finished their food, one begrudgingly and the other happily, they put the boxes on top of the cloth wrapping and tied it up again. After which, Shen Tianyu set it beside the bed, since she was too lazy to get out of the bed covers. She then pulled her cloth bed curtains closed so it covered the bagged boxes. After wandering in her thoughts as she waited for her body to digest the food, did she finally lay down to go to sleep. Not long after she had laid down, the sun rboke over the horizon.
