Adults usually knew better than to buy street food all the time and nobles usually looked down their noses on them because they "would never eat commoner food that was handled so frivoulously" as they put it.

"Wangye, Wangfei, the food is ready." The Head Eunuch's voice interrupted Shen Tianyu's lecture of Rong Jian's eating habits.

"Come in." She answered back as sh put the Cosmos Bag of street food on the table of Rong Jian's desk.

"Wangye, Wangfei, the food will be brought to the dining room of Aster Courtyard, unless the two honorable masters wish to eat elsewhere?" The eunuch asked them from the slightly ajar door.

"Did you heat up the room yet?" Shen Tianyu asked with her head turned towards the door.

"This subject apologizes but this one has not given out the order to do that. I'll go tell them to heat up the room immediately." The eunuch bowed and closed the door, leaving them to make arrangements for the room.

"Is it that cold? You're wearing quite a heavy coat too." Rong Jian frowned, not minding the cold temperature since he grew up with it.

Shen Tianyu was wearing a black zhongyi that faded to purple at the hems and had silver thread woven in, making it look like a dawn sky. Her outer robe was a thick, dark bue robe with ruffles in the skirt. The outermost coat was a yellow coat fading to a tasteful orange at the edges that had plum blossoms embroidered all over it. The edges of the coat was, like her other coat, lined with fur. The sleeve ends were weighted down with unprocessed sheep wool while the bottom of the coat had a mix of fur and wool. She was even wearing a pair or trousers under the skirts of her robes, not that it was obvious.

On the other hand, Rong Jian was wearing a purple zhongyi with a yellow outer robe embroidered with a dragon in gold thread. Under his outer robe was a pair of trousers. Nothing had fur and the clothes didn't look thicker than the ones he normally wore.

"What is wrong with you people. You're all act like it's nothing, it IS cold!" Shen Tianyu looked at Rong Jian then at her wolf companion that had been silent this whole time and back again.

"Well, you said it. We grew up here so we're used to it." Xue Lang looked up at her with indifferent eyes.

"Yeah, but still." Shen Tianyu replied aloud, focusing on her wolf companion.

"What did it say?" Rong Jian asked, keeping his eyeson the white wolf.

"It said I already said that you guys grew up in this weather and that's why you're used to it." Shen Tianyu recounted the wolf's comment. "But it's still so cold. How do you deal with this? There are icicles on the edges of the roofs, for goodness sake."

"It's like this every winter. If you're unaccutomed to it, I'll have the servants warm up all the rooms once winter comes." Rong Jian walked up to Shen Tianyu and wrapped her in a tentatve hug, looking into her eyes.

"Uh...no need. It's not like I'll enter every room during winter. Just have my place and yours heated when I'm there or going to go there. Heating it all day everyday would be a waste of coal." Shen Tianyu's brain short-circuited for a moment before she remembered what they were talking about. She raised her hands to instinctively push his hands away but remembered that they were to be husband and wife and did her best to restrain her arms from pushing him away. She clenched her hands into fists and constrained her hands to stay at her sides. This small battle didn't escape Rong Jian's eyes but he was happy that she allowed him to touch her in this somewht intimate manner and he didn't want to ruin the mood so he didn't say anything. However, he was aware that this was probably the extent that she could take so he didn't hug her tighter or close their distance more.

"Okay. As Tian'er desires." He smiled a little at her who he held in his arms.

"Alrigt, let's go eat. The food will get cold." She changed the topicand averted her gaze from him. Rong Jian took this as a cue and dropped his hands from her waist. She stepped out into the cold air, putting her hands into her sleeves to keep them warm, followed by Rong Jian. As the study and Master bedroom were in the same courtyard, both of them being at the center too, it wasn't a long walk. They went down the two steps to reach the snow-covered ground, their feet crunching int he snow as they created foot-shaped indents in the piles of late morning snow. The servants had yet to clean up this area as they were all intimidated by the person residing here, not that Rong Jian seemed to mind.

"Do you need a cape?" Rong Jian asked as he walked net to her, attempting to block the cold winds that were blowing in their direction from the right.

"I don't think so. As long as my skin isn't exposed to the cold air for too long, this alone is quite warm." Xue Lang was trotting along on Shen Tianyu's other side. Though it wasn't tall enough to completely protect her, it still helped her legs to not be as cold.

"Don't you have gloves or hand warmers?"

"I did put some gloves in my Cosmos Bag but I couldn't find them." Shen Tianyu had pulled the heaviest and warmest looking outfit from within her Cosmos Bag inside one of the drawers that hs enow had tied around her waist. She didn't bother looking for gloves because she knew it would take a while and it was hard to eat. The gloves in this time weren't those thta fit all five fingers but rather those that had a thumb part and the other four fingers were packed inside the other part of the glove. There was no place for her other fingers, meaning it would be harder to eat.

"Should I buy some for you then? Or do you want me to call the Royal Tailor to come take your measurements and make some for you?" Rong Jian suggested as he went up to push open the doors of his room.

"Ah, no need. I can just buy some in the city whenever we go out. School will bestarting soo right? We can go shop for some then if I don't find mine by then." She yelped in surprise at the blatant uncaringness for the money that the other was about to spend. The services of a certified Royal Tailor was certainly expensive and if the royal family wasn't paying for it then it was the tax people. Throwing away money like water, she really couldn't see that happening because of her and neither did she want to see. A pair of commono gloves made by common tailors were good enough in her opinion. She didn't need them to last centuries, in fact, that would be terrifying.
