A pair of common gloves made by common tailors were good enough in her opinion. She didn't need them to last centuries, in fact, that would be terrifying.

"Okay! Then let's go shopping tomorrow, if it's not too cold. We need to buy stuff for the School anyways." Rong Jian smiled as he walked up and opened the door to his room, standing to one side as he indicated for her to enter. He walked over the threshold and quickly closed the door behind him. As always, there were a few servants around the room to wait on them, albeit fewer than usual due to the weather. Not minding the crowd, Shen Tianyu sat down at the main table that was laden with delicious food as always. The chopsticks placed next to her bowl were silver, just like before. Rong Jian sat down opposite her, where it was easier to make conversation.

"I missed this." He told her as he icked up his pair of silver chopsticks with one hand and his porcelain bowl filled with rice with the other.

"So dramatic, it was only a day or two." She replied as she copied him and waited.

Rong Jian took the first bite before she started to eat. The couple started making plans for tomorrow as they ate, without accidentally spilling the food in their mouths. Despite the inappropriate behavior, none of the servants in the room moved nor made a sound. No one dared to show any hint of disapproval at this... "unusual" table manner. Xue Lang was sitting at the table and eating the same food out of his own bowl, ignoring the couple flirting with each other right next to it.

As before, Rong Jian took Shen Tianyu on a walk through the residence before personally seeing her back to her room. Xue Lang had retired back to the room early because he couldn't take the two of them showing off in front of this single dog, or rather wolf. Rong Jian turned around and left once the door closed but he didn't walk in the direction of his courtyard. Instead he walked towards a corner of the residence that he never took Shen Tianyu to. As he entered the place, there were noticeably more armed guards than other places in the residence. What seemed like an abandoned courtyard was teeming with armed guards patroling about. None of them obstructed his path and merely greeted him. Upon entering the empty building of the courtyard, he went tot he bookshelf and pulled out a book. Behind the book was an inconspicuous wall. He pressed the wall that was previously blocked by the book and it immediately caved in on itself. A rumbling sound was heard as the bookshelf slid to the side, revealing a dark space. He leisurely put the book back into it's place and walked into the place as the bookshelf slid back. Once the bookshelf was back in place, the dark space immediately lit up with night pearls along the walls. In front of Rong Jian was a flight of stone steps spiraling downwards. One at a time, the Wangye walked down the staircase as the night pearls ahead of him lit up and the ones behind him died down. As he went further down the stone steps, he could hear the pleading screams of a single woman begging for mercy. He furrowed his brows as he stepped closer to it but continued on. The stone steps finally ended in a hallways reminiscent of a prison. On each side in front of the stairs were cell bars separated by more bars. Around the middle of the prison was a woman being held in one of the cells, her wrists tied with chains on a wooden cross and her legs bound together. Guarding in front of her cell but not listening to her pleas at all, was a stone-faced man in black robes with deep blue markings at the hems. When the man saw Rong Jian, he bowed and greeted him.

"Master." It was the Jie Sheng that had taken the Assistant Head Maid away that morning and the woman chained inside was the said former assistant.

When she heard the man guarding her cell greet Rong Jian, she paused her pleading and looked up. "Wangye! Wangye!" She called out to him but he ignored her, motioning for his subordinate to straighten up. The subordinate saw his Master subtly nod his head and turned back to the woman in the cell for the first time since he bound her there on the wooden cross. Except, he wasn't looking at her, but unlocking the cell door

"Wangye, I'm innocent! I'm really innocent Wangye! Please investigate!" She cried as the chain holding the cell door was dropped and the door opened. She tried to lean forward as much as possible with her hands bound to the cross and pleaded.

"Anything?" Rong Jian asked with furrowed brows at his subordinate standing by the cell door.

"She hasn't said anything since I locked her up." Seeing the displeased expression in his Master's eyes, he hurried to explain himself. "I thought it was inappropriate for me to... harshly interrogate her so..."

"My Wangfei was poisoned and you deemed it inapropriate to torture the culprit?" Rong Jian asked in a cold tone with no room for questioning. Jie Sheng immediately knelt down, his knees making a sound when it impacted the stone floor but he didn't show any hint of pain.

"This subordinate is wrong, this subordinate deserves punishment." He didn't say anything else, no more excuses nor explanations because he, who had followed this Wangye for so long, knew it was all useless.

"Purgatory Hall. 200 lashes." He simply replied and turned away from him.

"Thank you Master for yout mercy." Jie Sheng didn't question it and bowed towards his Master back as he rushed to the Purgatory Hall of the Zhu Wangfu. "Master must be in a good mood. Something like that usually deserves 500 lashes at the least." He muttered to himself when he was sure he was out of earshot of said Master.
