These demonic beasts were in a category separate from those with elemental attributes and are usually more sought after than other demonic beasts, as prey. However, only demonic beasts at a high enough level to gain human form can fully digest all the power such demonic beasts hold so even if a low level demonic beast weere lucky enough to consume one, their power level would not rise as quickly as a high level demonic beast that swallowed them. In order to protect themselves, a lot of these demonic beasts have tough hides and skin, which makes the hard to swallow and be physically digested. Combined with their remaining power, it could make for good armor or protective clothing in the case of humans, since their digestive system is not strong enough to digest such demonic beasts and many cultivators are unwilling to stoop to such barbaric levels to raise their power. Another problem is that, though convenient, these demonic beasts practice demonic beast cultivation and not spiritual cultivation so a mix of two different cultivations could cause serious injury instead of raising the human's cultivation level.

Not only does it keep you warm and is elastic enough to fit on anyone's hand, it also has a shielding array inscripted on the inside. With the Arctic Elephant's innate power, it can also keep you cool during the high temperature summers of Rikui Kingdom." He bowed and led them away, presumably to the cabinet for handwarmers.
"Mistress, there's an uninvited guest!" A voice sounded inside her head. Xue Lang had been let into the front of the store but was told to stay outside when theyw ere about to enter this section of the shop because the attendant had been worried that some of the items inside might have peeked the spiritual beast's ire and it might cause trouble. While th guard that escorted them stood guard at the door, Xue Lang was wondering around the back to cover the guard's blindspots.
