The shop attendant knew he was no longer needed but he was still safeguarding their merchandise so he could only quietly stand to the side and count the cracks in the pavement, being careful to look like he was out of earshot.
"Yaoyao..." Shen Tianyu looked into the eyes of the girl, her hands holding onto hers as if afraid that she would fade away the moment her hold slackened.
The girl finally showed a differetn expression, a smile as warm as spring and bright as the sun on a summer day, blossomed across her face. "Lingling! Long time no see!"
"...I don't know. I was in- I was here when I woke up." Her smile dimmed a few watts and her words faltered, taking note of the other people gathered once again. "This is..." She pointed at Rong Jian who was glowering at her from behind Shen Tianyu. However, once his fiancee turned around, he quickly retracted his hostile aura and gave her a harmless smile.
"Oh, this is my..." Shen Tianyu coughed, trying to think how she should introducce him. "This is Zhu Wangye, the fifth Wangye of Rikui Kingdom, and he's my... fiancee."

Somewhat angered, Rong Jian stepped forward to try to intimidate her to take her words back but Shen Tianyu beat him in explaining. "What are you saying? You know I would rather die than marry someone against my will. No one coerced me. And for your information, I've always been straight okay?"
"Really... So this was the kind of men you liked. No wonder..." Bai Yaoxuan trailed off but Shen Tianyu knew exactly what she was saying. The two of them were close enough for non-verbal communication on a normal day to the point that some of the friends in their circle called them long-lost twins despite the fact that the two of them looked nothing alike.
"Shut it." Shen Tianyu pushed the other girl lightly. However, she forgot that she had already achieved Meridians level in cultivation and was about to break into Golden core stage while the other was of weak spiritual power, weak to the point that Xue Lang could pin her down without a sweat.
