"Is there anything else wifey want? Maybe some decorations from the front of the shop?" Rong Jian asked as they walked back along the cobblestone path to the front of the store to pay.
"Um... I don't really care about home decor so no but maybe a brush for Xue Lang and some hairpins for Yaoyao." She tapped her chin with her forefinger. "Oh, but I can pay for those myself. You can just pay for the glove and robe."
"But-" Rong Jian frowned in displeasure but was interrupted by his beloved.
"I'm not poor. You are already paying for the glove and robes so now I can buy at least this much. You already bought her something so now it's my turn to buy her a gift." She pouted at him and he begrudgingly accepted. She then turned her head to look at Bai Yaoxuan. "Yaoyao, how about you stay at Zhu Wangfu for now?"
"Huh? Um... I don't think that!s very appropriate, I can just go home, really. You don't have to buy me anything either." Bai Yaoxuan fidgeted as she walked behind them.
"Lingling...you really haven't changed." Bai Yaoxuan cracked a nostalgic smile as she finally straightened her back and raised her head high.
"Eh, I haven't? I thought for sure I at least look younger now, don't tell me I have wrinkles already?! My lord, I haven't even reached 20 yet!" Shen Tianyu faked panic as she touched her face all over, checking for wrinkles she knew wasn't there.
Bai Yaoxuan smacked her arm again. "You know I don't mean that! And if you're worrying about wrinkles, then shouldn't I already have wrinkles? Living in such a place. Even my clothes are ragged."
The two girls entered their own world, leaving all the others in their group in the clouds as they joked around like they always used to, not that any of the others knew it. Rong Jian just watched them with a relieved smile, albeit curious and confused.
The shop attendant led Rong Jian to the cash register to pay for the items. The guard bowed to them before he left, since now that they were in the sole front where guards are constantly patrolling, they'll be safe even if he doesn't tag along with them. Shen Tianyu had Xue Lang wait for them outside the store so as not to bother the other guests and make the space more crowded than it already is while she looked at some brushes for his furry coat. The selection was surprisingly fast as there arent a lot of people that had contracts with a spiritual beast and many of those that do are in big sects or families and don't really bother with the appearance of their spiritual beast too much unless it's a special occasion. Therefore, the selection of brushes for spiritual beasts were disappointingly small. Though that just left more time for some girl shopping, in Shen Tianyu's opinion.
"Was it ok to just let me stay at the Wangfu like that? It's technically your husband's residence right?" Bai Yaoxuan whispered as they were debating which hairpins to buy for her.
