She splashed some of the water into the air with tinkling laughter. Except, she felt a an intruder in right outside the bathouse and her expression immediately turned stern.
She had forbid even the servants in charge of warming the bathwater to enter the bathouse. And the prescence certainly was not one of the servants of the Wangfu. She rested her hand on the pile of clothes she had put on the table beside her as her nerves stretched taunt. The prescence approached the bathouse without making any sounds, this person was definitely skilled.
'To think someomone would be daring enough to send an assassin into the Zhu Wangfu... If it was a political opponent, though, they would not be aiming for the bathouse in the future Wangfei's courtyard...' Shen Tianyu didn't make any sudden motions and slowly, clamly, rose from the bathtub. Making any big movements would result in a loud noise and alert the other that she might have noticed them. She threw her outer robe over herself and tied it as a makeshift nightgown as she waited for the singular prescence to enter the bathouse, either through the door or otherwise.
A shriek not so different than that of a banshee's sounded throughout the bathouse.
'It turns out the assassin they sent was a girl.' Shen Tianyu noted as she took out her hands, two of her short-nailed fingers now soaked in dark crimson. Instinctively, the female assassin reached up to her face and tried to protect her eyes that were already destroyed. Without any change in expression, Shen Tianyu reached below the assassin's arms and grabbed her neck. The other's dagger had flown and embedded itself into the right wall of the bathouse. The assassin was still shrieking about their eyes, completely being unprofessional, causing Shen Tianyu to frown.
"Talk, who sent you?" She leaned right next to the other's ear and whispered in a threateningly cold voice, completely not caring that some of the blood coming from the now-blinded assassin might drip onto her.
Yet, the female assassin continued to shriek, which annoyed Shen Tianyu further. With furrowed brows, she talked to her again, "If you don't stop shrieking and tell me, do you or do you not believe I'll also cut your stomach open and gouge your organs out one by one?"
This immediately scared her into submission and she immediately stopped shrieking, thought she was still sobbing and calling it painful.
'Well of course it'd be painful. This job entails you selling your life, this kind of minor injury is to be expected. What kind of poor person hired such an inexperienced assassin? And I was ready for a big fight because they were so good at hiding.' Shen Tianyu clicked her tongue in disappointment, which scared the blind assassin even more and she was trembling so bad she looked like she was having a seizure. If Shen Tianyu wasn't holding them against the wall by their neck, they might have fallen over and curled themselves into a shivering ball by now.
