If Rong Jian was adamant about her not participating, then she would drop the subject but she wanted him to know, even if she wasn't the greatest in non-military mind games, she could still be of help when necessary.

\"...Fine...\" Rong Jian saw the intentions in her eyes and dejectedly agreed. \"But she's not kept in the regular prison.\"

\"Of course I'm aware of that. I didn't see her in the regular prison so obviously she isn't being kept there.\" Shen Tianyu raised an eyebrow at him. \"You dare to underestimate me?\"

\"Ah? Of course not! Uhm, I'll take you to her right now, okay?\" Rong Jian averted his gaze and quickly got up. He motioned for the servant to get out with a cold face, as if he wasn't fawning over someone just a moment ago. The servant got the signal and quickly left, knowing to close the door behind him. Shen Tianyu also didn't comment further as she followed Rong Jian to the side of his study and watched, unobstructed, as he opened the door to a secret chamber. Seeing the dark space ahead of them, Shen Tianyu got an idea and opened her palm in front of her. Knowing his wifey wanted to attempt something, though he didn't know what, Rong Jian stepped to the side to make space for her. Shen Tianyu closed her eyes and concentrated on the Eternal Sea of Raging Flames she had unlocked a while ago within her spacce but has never accessed. She was aware that she was nowhere near strong enough in this world, in case of a critical situation, it was better to have an addition ace up her sleeve, even if this power was from an unknown origin. It was better to get used to the properties and aftereffects of said power during a safe time rather than using it in a rush and causing more harm to oneself.

Rong Jian watched as a green light slowly formed above Shen Tianyu's outstretched palm, growing brighter by the minute until it manifested into a full-fledged flame. Rong Jian's unblinking eyes watched Shen Tianyu open her eyes and examine the flame. She held her outstretched hand out to light the dark room to find a staircase leading downwards. She tapped her chin with a furrow in her brow, finding the light from the ball of green did not reach all the corners of the staircase. Seeing his wifey's unsatisfaction, Rong Jian tried to reassure her. \"Wifey, the staircase is somewhat long so it's fine if the light doesn't reach the bottom, it's enough to light the way fro both of us already.\"

\"Is wifey... afraid of the dark?\" Rong Jian asked as she stepped froward to descend the stairs. The question madde her trip and almost fall down the stairs if Rong Jian didn't catch her waist in time, the ball of green also sizzling smaller as her mind was no longer as occupied with controlling it. She managed to stabilize the flame and made sure it was far away enough from their bodies that it wouldn't harm them before she turned back to Rong Jian, her smile unchanging.

\"How can that be? Me? Afraid of some flimsy darkness? Please, there's a limit to jokes.\" The fact that her eyelids were twitching didn't escape Rong Jian but he helped her stand up properly without mentioning it.

\"Oh, is that so? My bad then, please forgive me, Tian'er.\" Rong Jian patted her robes even though there was no dirt on them and smiled at her.

Shen Tianyu huffed but accepted his apology and continued to trudge downwards. To her surprise, the door to the secret chamber shut behind them when they were only 5 steps in but she managed to keept her body stable enought that she only flinched. How could Rong Jian not notice with how bright their light source was? But he held back his chuckle, only allowing his shoulders to tremble in silent laughter. When they reached the bottom of the stiars, they found a wide empty space with only a bed in the middle, and in front of it was a black-clothed man kneeling down on one knee facing them.

\"Isn't this one of your people?\" Shen Tianyu turned sideways and asked her companion. There were noc hains to suggest any kind of restraint were placed on the person so it wa smore likely the person was hiding here than being held prisoner. And if this was a person on equal footing with Rong Jian, he wouldn't bow in such a subservient attitude.

\"Yes. He got injured collecting information and I had him recuperate here.\" Rong Jian stopped next to Shen Tianyu but his gaze never left her.

\"It's unhealthy for him to recuperate here underground, there's no sunlight, he'll get sick.\" Shen Tianyu summarized her concerns about the possible bacteria floating around in such a protected place, where they couldn't be killed by sunlight. Not that people in these times would understand such a concept that was found in the 15th century back in her world, which could be considered relatively recent when you looked at the whole of human existence.
