She raised her chin, looking down at them all from her nose dspite her physical stature being shorter than most of the armed bodyguards.
Some of the bodyguards were angered by her words but a young man who seemed to be the leader stepped forward first. Unexpected to his comrades, he raised hi hands and inclined his head in a small bow.
"Please excuse our Young Miss, we'll be sure to talk to the General of today's matter." Instead of antagonizing her further, he asked for his ward to be excused.
Shen Tianyu narrowed her eyes at the leader. "Excuse her? How old is she now? She should be of marriageable age now and she still hasn't learnt decent manners? If the one standing here today was truly a Wangfei, do you think the Right-winged General's Manor would remain unscathed?" Shen Tianyu flipped her hair over her shoulder with a huff. "Well whatever. I'm nice so I'll let her off today. I came out here for some fun and I met some friends I haven't seen in a while." Right after her voice fell, her figure disappeared from the encirclement of the guards, startling them to raise their weapons in preparation for some physical retaliation.
"Also, as subordinates of a General, don't you thinnk having such low awareness levels makes your General lose face?" Her voice sounded again from behind the circle. Peering back, they found her standing in her original position again, in front of the other girl that was with her and whom their ward had directed her anger towards. Turning away from them, Shen Tianyu let them be and hugged Bai Yaoxuan with a bright smile on her face. "Yaoyao, let's go in to eat!" She laughed while standing on one foot.
"Okay." She replied with a similar smile as if nothig happened, circling her arms around the laughing girl. She then inclined her head to the two men who have been peeling melon seeds[1] and watching the show. "what of the two Young Masters?"
"Ah, that's right!" Shen Tianyu released her little sister and turned to the two men standing next to the door. "Senior Brother Liushan and Young Master Bai, would you two like to join us?"
"Ah no. We're... actually here to meet up with some distant family members." Ningwu Liushan put one hand in front of him and smiled apologetically.
"That's right, we have family matters to attend to, unlike some people." His companion ascertained their situation sarcastically.
"If it was so important, how come you had the time to peel melon seeds out here?" Shen Tianyu shot back with a snort. "Then, since Senior Brother Liushan is busy, let's save this for another day." She smiled at Ningwu Liushan to show the stark contrast in attitude. Pulling on Bai Yaoxuan's hand, she entered the restaurant, ignoring the guards that had stopped her before as if they didn't exist.
Back at Miss Yang's Carriage...
"Brother, how could you let that arrogant outsider off just like that?!" One of the bodyguards demanded an answer from his leader as some of the others carried their Young Miss back into her carriage.
"You want us, soldiers of a General, to join in a woman's fight? That woman, even if she isn't Zhu Wangye's woman, has definitely gotten recognition from him. When else have you ever heard of a woman entering Zhu Wangye's Mansion, other than some maids? Not to mention being invited to stay there. Besides, you saw her martial arts, you think we could beat her while protecting the Young Miss? You can't even guard the Young Miss correctly, what do you mean by not letting her off?" "Of course, this way, Young Misses." The Waiter, his waist perpetually bowed, gestured for them to follow him and led them to the second floor. "Would this Plum Blossom room be acceptable?" He stood next to a door painted with a branch of plum blossom right in the middle.
"Sure." Shen Tianyu immediately replied.
The waiter started a little but quickly regained his composure. Being such a well-known establishment, it wasn't a rare occurenced to get some strange guests. "Would the Young Misses like to check it first...?" He cautiously prodded them.
"We just want a private room, I don't care how it looks inside. Besides, the name sounds elegant so it's fine." Shen Tianyu waved off the waiter's question. "Bring us your establishment's specialties and some Pu'er tea." Shen Tianyu offhandedly told him as she stepped forward and pushed the door open.
"Understood, I'll go put in your order right away." The waiter dipped his head in acknowledgement and left.
Shen Tianyu peered inside the room from the entrance, making sure to push the doors hard enough to hit the walls in case there was something behind the doors. "It's ok, come in Yaoyao."
Bai Yaoxuan emerged from behind Shen Tianyu and peered inside the room. "Wow... how much is this room valued at?" She exclaimed undr her breath, seeing all the gold and jewels adorning the walls of the room. There was even a pearl stringed curtain in front of their window.
"Dunno. Probably less than where we're from since cultivation objects are more valued than these." Shen Tianyu shrugged as she stepped inside, holding the doors open for her companion.
"Thank you very much, kind Miss." Bai Yaoxuan curtsied and batted her eyelashes at her as she passed the other. They burst into laughter after a moment of pause, Shen Tianyu closing the doors of their private room behind them.
