It was just like a school fair or Welcome week in colleges from Shen Tianyu's old world, except much more crowded and with weapons that could possibly kill people out in the open, left unchecked.
Bai Yaoxuan's head whipped around like a rattle drum, to try to take in everything presented to them. On the other hand, Shen Tianyu was as calm as her fiancee, showing no interest in anything just as she claimed, merely watching her little sister marvel at everything. These amateur techniques that are only for show, how could they possibly interest a person that grew up in a mercenary organization and was now even the head of said group?
"Since Yaoyao like sit so much, how about we come back to look after we finish with your registration?" Shen Tianyu pulled on Bai Yaoxuan's hand who was starting to wonder into the crowds.
"Oh, right, the registration! Okay, let's come back later!" Bai Yaoxuan snapped back to the reason she was here in the first place. Rong Jian strode forward, opening the crowd for them and leading them to where they were supposed to go. Shen Tianyu walked behind Bai Yaoxuan, letting go of Rong Jian's hand, to ensure the other's safety. They arrived in front of the Headmaster's Office without any problem. Said Office was situated away from the main road, giving it's owner a quiet dwelling with a fenced off garden. There was a plaque hanging in the middle of the gates just like any other building at the Chengyuan School to signal it's purpose. The dwelling itself was a simple one-story building with a golden-yellow roof. The windowframes were a dark red, just like the pillars, with two column of words on the pillars guarding the door. The one on the left read: "Nobody will remain at the top for eternity, live freely for as long as possible", while the right read: "You might not be able to decide whether the road is easy or just but whether you walk it is entirely up to you".
The group of three walked through the gates, passing the front garden filled with exotic flowers and shrubbery with Rong Jian in the lead. Zhu Wangye knocked on the door of the dwelling, their formation still the same, and waited.
"Come in." A rough but warm voice sounded from within the Office. Seeing that as permission, Rong Jian pushed open the doors with both hands and led the two girls in. Sitting in the middle of the room, behind an ordinary desk, was an old man with white hair tied into a low ponytail and a white beard disappearing below the desk. On the left corner of said desk, facing them, was a wooden block that read "Headmaster". The Headmaster had a weathered yet smooth face, smile line blending into the small amount of wrinkles that were on his face. His left hand rested on the desk, next to a few papers piled in a neat stack as his right hand stroked his aged beard. His eyes crinkled into a smile upon seeing his visitors and the corners of his lip lifted upwards the slightest bit.
"Rise, children. Rise." He signalled with his left hand for them to rise from their bow, his other hand still stroking his beard. The three of them straightened up, now standing side by side. Shen Tianyu had wanted to stand on Bai Yaoxuan's other side but was lightly shoved by said girl, resulting in Rong Jian and Shen Tianyu standing next to each other.
"Why, if it isn't Zhu Wangye. And if I may be presumptuous, I am assuming this young lady is the soon-to-be Zhu Wangfei." There was no hint of malice or ill-intent in his voice, merely a caring warmth and curiosity. If Shen Tianyu only had experience, this Headmaster acted and felt like a loving grandfather who was looking at his granddaughter, only she never experienced this type of family relationship. She only felt an unfamiliar warmth and though it was a comforting feeling, the mystery element made her wary though she didn't show it.
"Yes, Headmaster." There was a hint of a smile in his eyes when he heard his beloved be referred to as his main wife.
"It is a pleasure to meet the mysterious and talented woman who managed to capture the cold and callous Zhu Wangye's heart." The Headmaster nodded at Shen Tianyu who gave a polite smile.
"It should be this humble one's honor to be able to be granted an audience with the esteemed HHeadmaster of Chengyuan School." She gave a dip of her hips in reply.
The Headmaster let out a hearty laugh, one that sounded like a doting grandfather to Bai Yaoxuan's ears. "Young Missy is certainly great with your words. Your compliments is making this old thing blush."
Shen Tianyu just kept on smiling without giving a reply. The Headmaster didn't seem to be deterred by the wary attitude of the Zhu Wangfei and instead turned to the third person in the group. "I assume this other ypung lady isn't going to be your other woman, Zhu Wangye. Or else you really would have wronged your Wangfei."
Before Rong Jian or Shen Tianyu could answer, Bai Yaoxuan dipped her hips in a girl's bow and spoke. "Answering Headmaster, this one is Bai Yaoxuan of Minister Bai's Residence and have come here with the identity of Zhu Wangfei's friend and sworn sister."
"Ah, Zhu Wangfei's sworn sister, then these old bones apologizes for his previous statement. Hope the two Young Misses won't hold it against this old one." The Headmaster was quick to apologize for his earlier comment.
The three people had discussed before coming, how they were to present Bai Yaoxuan. Though late admissions were accepted, the Bai Residence was in the Capital and close to Chengyuan School so it would arouse questions if Bai Yaoxuan was to enroll in late admissions. Also, Shen Tianyu's earlier flimsy isea of calling her a friend that travelled from afar wouldn't work because there would surely be people from Minister Bai's Residence that would recognize Bai Yaoxuan and call her out. So they decided to just come clean with as much as they could. Since Chengyuan School will be the learning institution they will be staying with for who knows how long, it wuld be unbeneficial for social relations if they lied about something like this rigt off the bat, especially when it wasn't the fault of any of them.
