"I'm telling the truth. I am quite impressed they were able to maintain the array formation for so long with so many different sceneries and with such detail. Even if they are senior students, it's really an incredible feat. The sceneries were beautiful too of course." She held the other's shoulders by one arm to make it easier for them to walk as they left the practice building.
"So you knew what it was?" Bai Yaoxuan side-eyed her.
"Yes. So did the boys." Shen Tianyu pointed her chin at the boys walking a step behind them.
"So? What was it?" Bai Yaoxuan asked, not indicating who she was asking, hoping someone would tell her.
"It was an Illusion Array." Shen Tianyu shrugged her shoulders as if that was obvious. Considering there was plenty of fictional literature back in their old world, she thought that much was at least clear.
"Of course, I can tell that much! But what kind? Were those scenes from their memory or fake?"
"Well, to be more specific, that was a Memory Maze, it's classified under the Illusion Array category because, well, I'm sure you can tell. Though there are varying levels of it, that was just an exhibition in the end so they weren't able to show it's full potential. Or rather, I reckon they didn't dare. Illusion Arrays, though they sound simple, can really put down a cultivator. For one not familiar with arrays, they could wonder in circles until their energy is depleted and they died, without knowing what happened. A higher level of Illusion Arrays allows the caster's creations to have material form, as in they an be felt. The highest level is recreating a person in the array since humans are so complex. Of course, the truly highest level would be recreating a dmonic beast in all it's glory but there are currently a few problems with that. One, those kinds of arrays are usually used for training purposes and making a demonic beast with it's full ability would prove dangerous. Second, there is not enough information on how demonic beasts actually operate since there are demonic beasts in the form of living animals with all it's systems attached alongside rotting corpses that still have an inkling of life. Third, even within one species of demonic beasts, there are varying power levels, so practicing with only one demonic beast would be dangerous when students encounter a demonic beast of the same species but with different techniques or attack patterns. Though that is also true of human cultivators, so even renditions of humans by the best Array Masters are not perfect, but at least the cultivation level stays the same and limits what they can and can't do so at least there is a basic pattern or techniques students can memorize." "I think those Senior students that activated the Array are probably Inner disciples of an experienced Array Department Elder. It can be said it's already quite a feat for them to activate and maintain that array for so long with that amount of people. Usually, it takes almost half a century to achieve that level for a normal cultivator, and that's only if they're lucky. Not to mention that's one of the beginner levels. If you ever encounter someone that can even create a shadow of a person, you better run. Those monsters are at least a few centuries old, if not a millenia." Shen Tianyu cautioned. "Ah, then, I would love to join you. Lontian and I had said we wanted to take a look at all the Departments before we made a final decision." He then threw the last decision to Bai Longtian, if he wanted o strike out on his own or join them.
"Mn." Bai Longtian liked to talk about as much as Rong Jian, and when he did it was usually harsh words.
"Looks, like it'll be agroup of five. Hope Miss Bai and Wangye isn't opposed." Ningwu Liushan understood the other's meaning immediately and tilted his head at Bai Yaoxuan.
"Of course not, you're welcome to join us anytime, Young Master Ningwu and Young Master Bai." Bai Yaoxuan smilingly accepted the impormptu addition to their our group.
Rong Jian met Ningwu Liushan's gaze and noddded his head before he turned his gaze back ahead of them.
"By the way, I really wonder where Junior Sister is from. It's not everyday a young person is so knowledgeable about a hard-to-grasp division of techniques like arrays." Ningwu Liushan left the two quiet people who acted like if they said too much they'd die, and walked on Shen Tianyu's other side.
